Well I started experimenting with the XMG and yup, this thing is a beast. I've counter-sniped snipers at long range with it (with red dot sight no less), held down Hardpoint/Domination points against groups with no need to reload, hip-fire victories at close range against SMG's and everything in between, loving it 👌

I won my first FFA of the night. C9 is a joke of a gun. It is just so op.

Second FFA of the night and I was on a Ruthless spree. 15 kills without dying. Then the game froze and disconnected. I was winning the match. At least they let me keep my Ruthless Killer calling card.

Good job.

FFA games can get really intense.. it's great fun

The DPS on it looks very nice indeed I'll have to give it a go..

anything special on it for better hip fire?

I used it for the first time last night. I mounted it on a countertop in Stakeout and felt like I never had to reload lol. It just churns out death when given a chance to fire and fire and fire.

bah my teammates didn't want to do the last bit of the terminus main quest, did the whole thing solo while they were using the boat exploit, but the very last bit needs some coordination if you're in a team; died at round 48 🤷‍♂️

For those of you who are grinding things out, what maps and modes and methods are you using?

I am discovering the joys of camping the kitchen countertop in Stakeout and just holding the trigger down for headshot grinding.

Still only level 24, lots of attachments to unlock and I don't specifically set it up for hip-fire, just an anecdotal observation, the gun simply seems good at everything 👌

I just got my Red Tiger on the XM4. Next camo challenge is a special, get 30 Kills shortly after sprinting. Sure, piece of cake, even with this cluster foxtrot of a gun.

Next match...

Well well well. How about that? I started off strong just running and gunning and never mind the foxtrot forsaken headshots. I lead early in the match and decisively on Subsonic. A few bad spawns then broke my pace. Then a few bad guys made some good plays. I fell into 4th and ended there. The corking XM4 did just fine. It shined. That felt like the XM4 that I know and love. Oh, and the two Special camo challenges? I'm blowing through them. They'll be done in like 3 matches total. Damn this headshot nonsense.

But I wonder what the SBMM and EOMM will do to me now. How defiled shall they leaveth me?

BASEBALL CAMO TIP:

If you are trying to get camo's done on baseball bat particularly Dark Spine (3 triple kills or better) run with this class:

Ignore the primary weapon and sidearm. Just make sure you have tactical expert and smokes.

Play Stakeout 24/7 and throw some smoke around. Then the most important part, run around and attack players using Right click or Left trigger on console. This means you kill players in one hit (it plays a small animation). I was able to do this in 2 matches using this method. Hope this helps somebody.

58% of active Xbox Series players is an insane number just what kind of staying power will it have like how many only played the campaign thanks to Gamepass

They are essentially CoD boxes at that point and the rest probably just play fifa/nfl/nba and of course Fortnite.

The gamepass question will remain an enigma lol

Resets everything, as in, all your weapon unlocks?
Weapon unlocks remain, but you have to reach the required level again to unlock the weapon itself before you can use it.

I have always preferred this prestige mechanism. There’s a real downside to prestiging, but you get some nice rewards for doing it - and it also gives you something to play towards again.

Infinitely better than a number that just goes up. The community are always at different stages of unlock, whereas in previous CODs everybody had everything after the first month.

You get 1 unlock token per prestige to unlock a particular gun without needing to reach the necessary level, they stay unlocked for every prestige after that as well, so eventually you have all the guns you need unlocked regardless of whether you prestige or not

I chose to unlock the AK74 with my first prestige token, so I have it from level 1

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?

Considering the Vault upgrade is the top selling thing on Xbox both in the US and UK, they're probably getting a lot of money from people who may not have bought the game but are happy to pay $30 to upgrade it with their existing game pass sub.

I think overall census is that the game is very good overall but the launch maps are subpar, or rather, they don't match the game's pace and mechanics very well.

No idea how they managed that, but I guess the "A map team" was busy making maps for MWIII or something..

They got me with that $30 vault thing too

Good to know. I have only ever tried doing prestige once... and I think it was during the PS3 generation. I usually never do it and was considering it this year but wasn't sure what it would do exactly given the responses I was seeing. I thought it was simply a rank reset, didn't realize it affected our weapons too.

Thanks to you and everyone else who helped explain it. Appreciate it!

EDIT
Actually, I am not sure if I ever did, lol. Is there a way to check? I feel like I did, but not sure as I usually just don't. I had a friend who would do it and I thought he was crazy for doing so.

Didnt know this. He used to be tweet a lot back in the day. I remember him hyping blackout a lot.
It was his baby, I'm 90% sure that's the reason he left. After Cold War released he barely said anything about the game, earning the nickname 'Desert Dave' for taking several trips out to the desert in his RAM Power Wagon instead of fixing the game.

I'm sure he wasn't too happy about Infinity Ward becoming the head studio and delegating things to 3arch and Sledgehammer either. As a Treyarch fan some of IW's design decisions give me a migraine.

He was a genius multiplayer designer.

Yea I agree. I absolutely loved black ops 3. I just don’t get why IW seem to just get away with murder. Maybe because they made the engine? I don’t know. I think treyarch and sledgehammer are lot more player focussed. IW seem to just release content and say fuck you to the players. Don’t like it, don’t play.

Treyarch have always played second place to Infinity Ward. I don't get it, Cod would be dead without Treyarch keeping it on life support for a good 5 or 6 years in 2010s. Blackout was better than Warzone too.

Well, when I started playing the campaign, every single achievement I received in the campaign was a diamond achievement. :messenger_tears_of_joy::messenger_tears_of_joy: Not sure many are playing the campaign.

I just launched MWIII to make sure I claim the battle pass stuff from my time playing black ops 6. Lo and behold I had enought o unlock the entire pass. I had enough cod points to buy the basic pass and get my cod points back so thought I may as well get this stuff free and would be cool to have mike myers etc

I thought for old times sake Id play a match of shipment before going back to black ops 6. Man they need to bring some of those MWIII maps to black ops 6. Some classics. I think I actually prefer that game tbh. I might return after dark matter. I don't know. Il see what season 1 offers.

It’s because it’s tied to the whole call of duty hq not its own separate game so it takes in account of every single person who has downloaded it since it became the standard
