Just make sure to oc the vram then the 5080 is a fine card. The 5080 may be a worse value, but since buying mine I have had absolutely no problems with mine and it's putting in a ton of work. I think I made the right decision.
I haven't done it yet, as I wanted to do some primary testing without an OC, but I'll doing some OC tests soon. I have the MSI Gaming Trio OC Version and it's already providing really good results.Just make sure to oc the vram then the 5080 is a fine card.
You may want to update the OP, there are now confirmed issues with cards from multiple manufacturers not just Zotac
Don't start that "remote work isn't real work" nonsenseSounds like Intel. Too busy "Working" from home to do QA.

Sure, but not oc the memory just leaves Performance on the table. So look atleast into this.I haven't done it yet, as I wanted to do some primary testing without an OC, but I'll doing some OC tests soon. I have the MSI Gaming Trio OC Version and it's already providing really good results.
Don't worry. You can buy additional ROPs. Only $1000 per ROP. The more you buy, the more you save.
5090? Sorry to hear that. What a mess this launch. Will check tomorrow whether my card has all the ROPs.This launch was horrible.
Grats guys who got one and better yet ones that kept working
Mine displayed lines through my OLED display almost instantly

Why? Nothing is stopping you from buying an AMD or Intel GPU.
This is a bad take. I've run large fully remote and hybrid eng orgs that predate COVID. (I am "old") If you can't properly performance manage remote engineers you won't be able to properly performance manage them in an open floor plan office either. You just give up talent pool for some weird perception of productivity. That's why people love it.
Apple was in a rut too for awhile.
Some of the 4080 laptops seem to be on sale. Those at least have 12GB VRAM.Horrible launch and general situation around the PC GPU market.
But nVidia has reached such a high level of greed and confidence over its monopoly that it might become easier for competitors to strike a blow...hopefully?
This year I need to change my 2018 notebook and I was thinking to buy something with a mobile 5080 but at this point I don't know what to expect, I'm definitely not going to spend 4000$ on it..let's see reviews and what I can buy with a 2500$ budget.
