China: PS5 selling twice as quickly as PS4; Local vendors report a surge in demand as it offers an affordable alternative to Nvidia

PS5 is for poor PC gamers, noted.

Sony has been working in China for many years (although back then those projects were called "smoke") and now that they are arriving, the results are already being seen in sales.

Shu probably visits GAF once in a while. I can only imagine his embarrassed look after seeing some random Spaniard expressing his weird obsessive love all the time.

Sony have been putting in the hard work for years and it’s paying off

As a PC gamer, if Nvidia keeps doing what they've done recently and AMD keeps screwing up, i will definetely switch to consoles. Graphic cards prices are getting absurd and i ain't paying 2000$ for a GPU.

I suspect this could become more common around the world as people who want to play mainstream, big budget games look to alternatives to nvidia's price gouging.

Once I saw most games were hitting 60 FPS I switched back to consoles. That was the only thing keeping me on PC. It wasn't even the prices just all the other shit I had to deal with on PC gaming.
I still run into the occasional old games that look and run like shit on console so that does suck but I'll take that over the PC issues I had. It's the last thing I miss about PC gaming was how even really old games still looked incredible on PC.

Chinese gamers are also mad because Nvidia is only allowed to officially sell neutered versions of their best cards in China

This is due to sanctions against potentially good computer equipment being sold to China which are imposed by the US

Sony also has projects in India, South Korea and Middle East which are also big. The good thing about this market including China, is there games are mostly no political and woke agendas.

Wait… you think gamers in China aren’t political? -1000 to your Social Credit, comrade. 🇨🇳

It’s very political over there, just a different kind of political. So is Middle East and India.

Well in fairness I did not see any communist indoctrination in there games, its mostly Chinese folklore, horror, genshin type fantasy games and space age adventures. No gender pronoun crap, no sodomy, and there characters are beautifuly designed, not being ugly or overweight.

Let's enjoy them for now, until if they ever gain a significant foothold, that is.

Good analogy. It helps sales of PS for sure, but just like I said before China is a double edged sword. But hopefully it's the other way around , that influence of good from outside will come inside China will happen, but I pray not those woke crap of the west. China cultures, people and values are good , it's only the communist government and communist ideology is evil.

It certainly is true that the tables are starting to turn slowly against PC Gamers. 60fps was almost nonexistent in previous generations when the seventh generation of consoles hit the market. Now, thanks to the power of the PS5 adn especially the PS5 Pro, it’s become the norm even for average Joes/Janes to take notice of and demand a 60fps mode. Even Mark Cerny pointed this out on the PS5 Pro’s presentation and was a key factor when making the PS5 Pro.

PSSR will definitely be a great weapon against PC Gamers. Many games look excellent with it on. Resident Evil 4 Remake with PSSR on makes it the definitive console version with HFR on that, combine with an OLED TV, certainly makes it a blast to play.

That's literally what the article insinuates though. Some people who can't afford PCs are buying PS5s.
