Looks like the momentum continues in 2025. In latest major developments in war against wokeness
- Chinese-developed Marvel Rivals is doing great numbers with its traditionally designed characters (masculine men, sexy feminine females)
- BIG NEWS: Meta completely nuked all their DEI programs and Facebook/Instagram dumped censorship and wokeness completely
- Amazon also cancelled many of their DEI programs
- Ubisoft is on the brink of bankruptcy and AC: Shadows delayed once again. Will Ubisoft even survive before Shadows released??
- CI Games, Lord of the Fallen studio, said they will not implement anymore DEI elements in their games, because they basically said 'go woke go broke'

With all these recent developments, Do other game developers still not get the message???? is Naughty Dog still going to stick to their bald dude female character? is Fable still going to keep their butt ugly female character?? they're risking hundreds of millions of dollars, even when they already know what the outcome will be

DEI and woke culture in general is doomed to fail because it attempted to rewrite reality. They attempted to:

1) brainwash you into thinking that you do not need to look at beautiful people (you do)
2) brainwash you into thinking that women can do everything that men can and better (they can't - not *every* thing)
3) brainwash you into thinking that you should be ashamed for being white, male and straight (you shouldn't)
4) brainwash you into thinking that all people belonging to minority groups are always better and smarter than you and you are holding them back (they aren't *always* and you don't)
5) brainwash you into thinking that you are a horrible person for calling them out on their practices (you are not)
6) brainwash you into thinking that people getting hired based on skin color and sexuality has no effect on merit and quality (it has)

You can trick some people forever. You can trick all people for some time. But you cannot trick all people forever.

They can hide their work and their intentions all they like. They can hide SBI, black gamers inc. and whatnot - it doesn't matter. The moment you see a game having butt ugly women in it, the moment you see all white male characters being emasculated and lectured, the moment you see the protagonist being a butch black lesbian who looks like a dude ... you immediately know where this is going. You don't need to see an SBI logo to be sure.

And the great and hilarious thing about this is that many companies lately are axing DEI. There is too much customer pushback that affects sales. There is some guy who helped rally the masses on social media to make Harley Davidson and another company change their internal DEI policies.

So what this shows to the woke-ish folks on social media or even employees hired due to DEI initiatives is that they are tossed to the curb again. Except for the most hardcore DEI supporting company who will to go down with the ship, at some point big companies will follow the sales and change back. They had their fun 5 year romp going political trying to paint a picture they are everyone's best friend. Now it's time to get back to nuts and bolts business financials and hiring on merit than ratio hires.

And more companies will change too. Follow the leader.

I doubt they believe or give a shit about it in either direction. They are trying to produce games that sell.

But right now they've either been to tone deaf or hands-off, that has in turn lead to a lot of their employees getting away with implementing their political agendas. And it seems to me like a lot of market analysts today don't know what they are doing. They check the pulse of market and start development of a game that won't be out for another 5-8 years, and whatever they put out is already dated by the time it is released. I'd say this is typical for any company that is run by incompetent people.

AAA games cost way too much $$$ to make and take far too long. All the companies started to chase Billionaire dreams of a couple specific genres. It hasn’t worked.

Games have also become far too complicated.
