And not by a bloated company with retards in management positions.A team of 30 people made this game. How? Probably this is what it looks like when a game is made by passionate people
Atomfall next month looking pretty promising too.Europe saving this generation, Stalker 2, KCD 2 and Expedition 33 in just 6 months is no joke (Stalker still needs some cooking but it's already great and has a lot of potential)
"Brought to tears several times"
"Mature"
"Incredibly polished"
"The entire preview is impressive"
"I am now aggressively optimistic"
Alrighty then.
I dont really trust anyone. Using my eyes it looks like a really promising AA RPG. Worse than Veilguard is the ridiculous exaggeration and lies about Persona and Metaphor. If thats a 90 this must be a 130.They said the same about Dragon Age Veilguard….

myself, i wish these guys well. but take away those snappy, flashy action menus, & it's hard to tell if there's anything really all that special going on here...Something about this still doesn't jive with me.
Have never played a Western turned based rpg that I cared for.
Sounds good to me, I'm ok with some linearity as so many games tend to go hard on open worlds and when they do rarely are they amazing so I think this will be good.I watched Fextralife's preview. He enjoyed it overall but did note a couple of concerns: performance issues and rather limited, unexciting exploration. Re. the latter, he said the structure is fairly linear, with only occasional offshoot paths. He commented that the game's worlds, while beautiful, do not feel very "alive."
I didn't realize the game was fairly linear, so that's news to me. I'm fine with it personally. I'm not up for another large, open-world RPG that takes forever to get through. I'd prefer a taut, well-paced story. I'm still not sure I'm up for the turn-based combat, but it seems to have action RPG elements infused into it, so maybe I'll like it.
How vital are the real time elements? I'm hoping it's not too essential, like can you survive if your timing/aiming sucks? It was indeed. I found it to have more issues that most other previewers but that simply means what I played I liked. Instead of thinking it was some kind of world changing thing.
The only thing I will say that was stunning was the Music which was incredible. Thematically and gameplay supporting.
While I do see others posting that it has this and that amazing bit, I actually felt like some of the additions or mechanics were pretty bog standard and not world altering. Of course the entire title and how it plays out after 40 hours will be the real indicator.
You can turn it on auto. That was one thing I could see being at odds. Its a weird combination that feels unique for awhile but many hours into it, repetitiveness could really hurt it. We will have to see. The complexity of the characters and skills kept it at bay for MOST of the preview, but after awhile the basic moves(needed in many cases) became oddly bothersome. How vital are the real time elements? You're pretty much the only game YouTuber I trust these days. You just call things as they are and don't make excuses for things just because you are hyped for them. Keep being based. It was indeed. That tells me nothing about the game, but a lot about the preview writer (mainly that he is a manchild who suffers form emotional dysregulation)."Brought to tears several times"
Some investor must have pump big money into this. You dont usually get Charlie Cox, Mr Gollum and 2 high profile voice actors in gaming as your first project.
"Clair Obscur"...who ever came up with that title should stop smelling their own farts.
This is what I picture you looking like when playing it:It's a painting technique and the story is about an evil paintress. It couldn't be any more on point.
After a few previews that were like, this is looking great and then the reviews are like 7 and performance issues, I feel the same. Previews seem to tilt towards marketing, not reviews.Never trusted a preview in my life, and I'm not starting now.
Still...

It is a painting technique which use light and dark contrasts (as the name implies) to emphasize parts of the painting
