The OT was prophetic…

“As I walk through the valley of the shadow of death
I take a look at my life and realize there's nothin' left“

That's outside of the actual purchase of the studio.

I remember way back I threw out a random number for sake of argument saying it probably cost $50M. I didnt include cost of buying the studio. I was thinking if a big bdget game takes $100M, Concord doesnt seem to be that kind of game to me.

Other gamers thought it's probably more like $100M given the length of dev and tons of employees (nobody assumed it was 150 people from day one), add in expensive mo cap, all the cinematic stuff etc... Then someone (article or YT?) said it might be $200M.

Who knows, but $200M seems really high for the game we all saw.

But if it's somehow $400M, that's insane. It doesn't seem possible no matter how to slice and dice it. Is everyone getting paid $500k salaries? lol

Listening to the latest Sacred Symbols episode now. Holy shit what a trainwreck.

Toxic positivity is a good term.

On any bussiness no lisening critics or warnings is a way yo fail easily. The creative and marketing areas usually are trapped on that "toxic positivity" because it's their Nature , their minds trend to think "this idea is great, lets do it"

That is why You have financial, CEOs with expertise and other staff that do the " cold analysis" to avoid failures the size of Concord..But this clearly was no the case.
