Crysis 3 Open Beta starting Jan 29th

I haven't said a single thing that it look bad overal or whatsoever. I just pointed on awful textures :).

"MP beta is not indicative of the final product"™

SP looks better, we have a tons of directfeed videos on gamersyde [Fields/Train Yard/etc] to confirm that.

You have to go to the "demo" section of the store to find it. The DL instructions on the website are wrong.

All betas on Origin are placed there... :-/

Haha classic. On Museum there is a crashed chopper in some water. Inside is a button which activates the blades so if you are playing Hunter and camp inside anyone who runs up gets sliced up.

Got a lovely 4 kill with one dude jumping in the air while I took him out with the bow. Really enjoying it. I think though at launch I'll opt for the PC version.

Damn, I can't get a solid 50-60 fps 1080p with my 6950 2gb unless I put all the settings on low with only fxaa. Funny thing is, it still looks really good. Oh, and is there an fov slider? I can't seem to find it. And by the way, having a blast, everything feels a bit better than Crysis 2. Netcode is slightly better it seems, although still not great.

I ripped the stone tablet off the wall in museum and a guy ran up to me shooting and I just threw the tablet into him and one-hit killed him. It was fucking hilarious.

It's not a slider, but under Game in Options, I think, you can adjust the degrees of FOV by increments of 5.

Lifeless? Bugs running and flying around, frogs, swaying foliage, smoke that is shadowed and lit.

Textures are amazing. Of course not every texture there is 4k, but most of them are highly detailed and geometry is very detailed.

nope

cl_fov
pl_movement.power_sprint_targetFov
r_DrawNearFoV

If these still work change these commands. Still getting the demo but these are the fov commands for C2 .

There is a FOV slider in game but you need to be in a match to change it. It's under Game Options.

Oh and it only goes between 55-80.

What's with the SHITTY DOWNLOAD SPEEDS?! 80KB\S. I would have downloaded the beta numerous times over if it was on Steam.

I find grabbing the shield from the Crash site an invaluable and hilarious tactic.

People will:

1- Shoot the shield
2- Throw a grenade in front of you, which does jack shit.
3- Start approaching you cautiously.

You will:

1- Throw the shield in their face killing them.

It's so great playing an MP game where we are all beginers.

Hunter mode is excellent! The adrenaline rush when you hear proximity sensor singing like mad, running with 8 predators to kill last human survivor 5 sec before round is over... :D

Yikes.

I haven't actually used fraps yet, but @ 1080p, all settings maxed, FXAA, and Vsync off I seemed to be getting 35+..

3770k
6950 2GB with unlocked shaders
16gb ram

Seems odd you wouldn't be in the 50-60 range on medium...

FOV is really awful in the 360 beta, one of the worst in a FPS. You can't see shit! Why Crytek?

Framerate is maybe a little better that the Crysis 2 beta but still not good enough. Definitely not a solid 30 fps.

Graphics are nothing special and I don't like the grass in this game. Looks fake. Water looks nice though.

I will wait for a re-release on the next-gen. I want a good performing console game. I won't buy myself a gaming PC.

Doesn't look bad to me for running on 2005 hardware. I'm sure it looks much better in motion, and yes at the average distance people sit from the TV rather than PC monitor.

Anyone have any advice for settings with a 1GB graphics card. Well, I have crossfire 5850s.. want to max it out without hitting that vram limit obviously. I'm getting 40-50fps at Crash Site with 1080p, High preset, textures medium, FXAA. Turn down Aniso to 8x maybe? Anything else that might help?
Your fps would drop down to single digits or stutter if you ran out of VRAM. Is crossfire even working?

runs great here on gtx 670 sli, no vram issues, just disable visual themes and desktop composition and it uses 1.8gb vram maxed out, thats 1080p, all very high, 4x msaa, 16xaf, 80 fov

never dropped below 60fps once on the airport map. game is boring though :/ tried triple screen for a laugh and it actually auto detected everything to very high bar textures on high, vram was just under 2gb (like 30mb under) and fps was a fairly locked 30fps, wouldn't recommend it though

edit: oh yeah, add the executable to the crysis 3 profile to enable sli

You've made a shot from that Youtube video?
you wouldn't see as much aliasing (and clean text) in a heavily compressed 720p video.
The biggest visible differences, in order are: image quality (resolution, AA and AF), textures (crate and ground in front), meshes and draw distance (e.g trees) plus ambient occlusion
So almost everything, save for Lightning which is pretty close.
