Cyberpunk 2077, Elden Ring, Final Fantasy VII Remake and Duskbloods all run at 30 FPS on Switch 2

Ohhh… All the Switch 2 haters are here 😆

This is exactly what dumbshits were saying about the Switch as it lapped the PS4/Pro.

And this is the result of people that have reading comprehension.

Nobody said anything about the Switch not selling or failing, the main and only point which seems to have gone over your head is why would consumers pay more for the Switch 2 version of games that originally cost less at launch, especially for a potentially inferior experience.

Mario Kart World. Wait until the influencers start doing their thing over the summer, and watch little Timmy add a Switch 2/MKW bunduru to their Christmas wish list.

Well, the Switch 2 CPU run laps around PS4 Jaguar, problem is mostly they're rushed ports, also Switch 2 is running the current gen version of those games, not the ones in PS4

I don't know what that even means. The Switch 2 isn't running the PS4 nor the PS5 versions of these games, it's running Switch 2 versions. But they largely seem to be much closer to the PS4 versions, which makes sense.

I don't know people are comparing the Switch 2 to the Steam Deck. It will probably outperform my Legion Go in some titles. Not because its more powerful but due to the fact that games aren't made for these PC handhelds. Games will be built and optimized for the Switch 2. TOTK would probably run at 5fps on mobile hardware from 2015. If games were built from the ground up for the Steam Deck they would run significantly better.

Takes around that long for portable technology to catch up to and surpass dedicated home consoles, so you shouldn't be surprised, the laws of physics are what they are.
It isn't quite laws of physics, as shown each time a competitor enters the handheld market they can offer significantly more at the same price point and a few years earlier, as was the case with the SteamDeck, Vita and PSP, the latter two being considerably more advanced/powerful because of the core business nature of the company providing them...

however I think 540p will still be fine for the Switch 2 and third party games, what will really be interesting is if gamers in large numbers are prepared to buy/play complex TV AAA games on a handheld this time round, as if they are, then I foresee another very powerful PlayStation handheld in market at a killer price for Japan, and maybe Switch pricing for the rest of the world.

3050 is garbage, news at 11.
Edit: I don't care in the slightest about old 3rd party games but Duskbloods at 30fps is bad. This is an mp game.

Steam Deck, Vita, and PSP were still all significantly less powerful than consoles released years earlier, due to the inherent limitations of portable hardware vs dedicated consoles.

They were far more powerful than what Nintendo could and would have released at the time at those price points.

So I wasn't disagreeing with your console to handheld point, just pointing out that even a Switch was rubbish for the time it released compared to what a Vita 2 would have done, and that the new Switch 2 is going to be underpowered, late and expensive compared to a SteamDeck 2 in all likelihood.

PS4 - 1080/60
XB1X - 1440/60
Switch 2 - 4k/60
If you think that 4K is the native resolution there are a few bridges on sale too ;).

"it does not matter"… sure, but then we are kind of back to "output resolution is all 1080p anyways" Xbox One levels of PR.

Still, I agree DLSS is important and all it takes to understand that is to see how much money Sony and AMD both are investing together in similar upscaling solutions. How good it will be, artifacts wise, on the amount of tensor cores available and at native resolutions below 1080p remains to be seen (normally it is best at 1080-1440p or so right?).

Resolution is fine most will be playing these games on the small ass screen. You don't need 4k for that. Games will look like shit though docked at those resolutions on a big screen TV.

Switch 1 was actually a quite capable portable device for its time, and so is Switch 2.
The gap between Switch and PS4/XBO and indeed it seems between Switch 2 and PS5/Xbox Series is not that far off the gap between say Vita and PS3/360.
Handheld PCs are more expensive niche devices.

What are we saying.:

So if PS4 = 1.0

and if PS4 Pro = 2.0

and if PS5 = 3.0

Where does the Switch 2 rank in this overall?

Are we talking 1.0, 1.25, 1.5, 1.75, 2.0, 2.25, 2.5 etc?

Are we supposed to be surprised by this?
I think it's impressive that they're running at all.

I'm ok with lower res and performance on modern-looking titles, like CP2077.

But what's up with Duskbloods? It's awful. Doesn't even look like it belongs in the same era.

In docked mode probably a 1.5

It obviously has more advanced features but not as much brute power as a ps4 pro

Based on early impressions. It should be around PS4pro

John DF said it better. Some games will perform better on S2(docked) and some games won't.

Starwars Outlaws, Phantom Liberty, split fiction, and Wilds Hearts aren't on PS4pro.

Portable switch 2 - 0.8(real world performance might be better than Steam Deck because of software optimization and Nvidia tech)

Docked switch 2 - 2.0
