At this point, scrap the solo movie and just run ahead with Aquaman and Gotham City Sirens next year. Follow that up in 2019 with MoS2, Flash, and Suicide Squad 2. 2020, solo Batman, GL, and JL2.

Might have to do with timing. Reeves is more or less busy until August. Maybe they want him to come off Apes straight into Batman and he wants to actually have some time to prep the movie.

Yea, a simple picture stopped all talks. They could do the same thing here, which comes back to the point of my question. If it's not true, why not just do that to satisfy the fans? Clearly these stupid rumors are gaining traction and giving the entire universe bad press. There is literally nothing negative that would come out of them confirming that Ben is on board.

Someone in the thread said he's putting up the money. So that makes sense.
But it has to be something behind the scenes. Some sort of overreach in control. Because even if the brand is "bad" it still attracts talent.
I mean these movies have straight up talent in them. So critical success or failure isn't the end all be all for these people. Of course they'd love critical success. And these people are adults and professionals. They don't get into fanboy wars or let it bother them. So it has to be studio heads imo.

I was thinking: do you guys think it would be better that "The Batman" is a prequel to BvS and Suicide Squad? A lot of stuff happened that the audience isn't aware of and depending on the story they choose to tell it could explain Bruce's attitude and brutality. It doesn't have to be an origin story, but perhaps just adapt some parts of Year One and also have Jason Todd as Robin, have him get killed and set him up to come back in a future film as Red Hood.
Alternatively, do something Arkham related over Year One but still have the Jason Todd sub plot.

I would love to see what happened in Batman's life pre-BvS. But it doesn't matter one way or another.

You only knew about who was directing what when things were basically in motion, then the trailer would come out to try and sway you, and you only decided you loved or hated the movie for sure after you actually saw the finished product.
I bet some of the most influential and beloved movies also had some BTS drama but the diference was that we, the public didn't know about it, maybe only much later after the film was done.
Now all of this is like a bad soap opera.

Jokes aside, I'm beginning to believe a Flashpoint/Rebirth event wouldn't be the worst if it can clean the slate for attractive directors to come in and make their mark. Keep what works and most of the actors, but ostensibly let everything else be fluid.
