Need to just ban talking about the MCU in here period honestly. The issue isn't people entering the thread everyday to "defend the mcu" the issue is that the mcu is spoken and brought up here every damn day to begin with.
Have a problem with a film's early reception? Find a way to vocalize that without rubber banding back to "Yeah bb..b..b...but Dr. Strange though!", that shit is weak. And it invites people that disagree with you to make a topic of it.

You're kind of stepping on yourself here, Lion. So many here? Off the top of my head I can maybe give you 3 names. Then at the same time you say those who view it like you do are the majority but where are you getting that from? Have you spoken to every poster who has said something to incite a reaction out of a DCEU fan to get their perspective? Didn't I just see you get on somebody's case the other day about tasting sweet DC fan tears? It's a problem that exists and people just keep handwaving it away.
As to your second point, what does goodwill have to do with it? Are these people not supposed to inquire as to why Marvel gets away with a generic something or other while DC is lambasted for it? They have to be quiet about it for what reason exactly? Wouldn't the exact question be just as valid if you switched the companies around?

Just read the Wonder Woman spoilers and...It seems like a safe run of the mill movie. Unfortunately in my opinion, DC needed Wonder Woman (and Justice League) to knock it right out of the park ala The Dark Knight (Where it's a GREAT film regardless of source material)

Agree. It doesn't need to be the best ever. It just needs to not be bad. And WW doesn't seem bad if the stuff in that thread is true. So it sounds like there's going to be a great foundation to spring forward from and leave the rest in the past starting with WW.
Wonder woman can be a "run of the mill" origin movie and that's ok. The only thing that matters right now is making enough money and not getting trashed by the critics.
Now, Justice League really needs to blow our heads for the DCEU to become something desirable again and maybe to convince Affleck not to kill his contract lol.

I don't know, I feel like the well is so poisoned that to truly rebuild confidence in this cinematic universe, there needs to be a film that is Critically acclaimed to hold it all together.
The MCU went through a bit of a rough spell after Iron Man. Of the 5 Phase One films moving towards The Avengers, only Iron Man and The First Avenger could be considered great with the rest either being meh or shit tier. What kept things moving along though was that initial confidence and trust Marvel built with Iron Man.
They proved they could hit it out of the park so there was faith and hope they could do it again when Hulk, IM2 and Thor were mixedly received.
DC has had the opposite happen. MOS was meh, BVS was a trainwreck, SS was even worst.
WW needed to be a HUGE critical success to start building that trust.

lol, yeah a little. I'm dog sitting and working a lot, but I've also just been more embroiled in political shit over CBMs. The country going to hell helps put arguing about CBMs in perspective.

Honestly, I think the biggest and saddest problem with this thread is that every now and then I pop in here, and there's never any constructive discussion about the DCEU. No one seems to be satisfied with it or like it. Everyone is either complaining about why Snyder isn't fired yet or whining about how there is "yet another DCEU hate thread". It's like watching a bunch of sad sacks just cuddle together to share their misery while being more miserable. It's weird and hilarious at the same time.

So since everyone agrees with the sentiment that discussion is really lame in here, how do you suggest we improve it? Community threads are more about the people in it than a specific discussion topic or single piece of news. It's a group effort. Any ideas? I don't feel I need to do this in the MCU thread at all because people just tend to talk about whatever new pieces of news or releases or toys or rumors without it turning immediately into a dumpster fire!
