I think it's because media in general is a product that involves characters and plot. So all the wokeys funnel to those kinds of creative jobs to get their message out. You cant preach politics to the masses working at a company selling copper tubing.
But within tech companies, I think it's mostly skewed to the creatives, HR, and whichever managers are in for the ride.
I dont get a sense the typical tech company worker doing sales, finance, payroll or the IT coder doing databases or password fixer role are politically driven crazies. You can tell because whenever there's hilarious social media tweets, it's almost always a creative role employee. Not a sales analyst or payroll clerk or IT guy whose job is to set up servers and employees with laptops and cellphones.
But like creatives in any industry like TV and movies too, they are the loudest looking for the most attention since they got low self esteem.
Another possible add-on is creative jobs seem pretty unstable, contract based, and half the time the product they make is junk. So they are kicked to the curb and rotate companies like no tomorrow. So they need to grift for employment, while most other functions at the company are FT with stable work all year.
I think movies always feels like a "me project" them "our project" I know its not but it feels like... games feel more like a group endeavor and therefor more easy for your opinions and world views to infiltrate.... and since you are dealing with fantasy you can draw whatever you like .. movies are shorter also.. games take 4-6 years to make giving more job stability I think ? And its an industry for younger consumers ... witch this people love to preach to.
All in all gaming looks like the perfect entertainment media industry for this lunatics to infiltrate and they did.
