Very annoyed I can't play this yet on PSN after preordering. It's 9h24 on release day. And I have to wait until the evening. Never seen that before.

I'm personally pleased it's not cross gen, but abit disappointed to read this criticism of the graphics from Pushsquare:

"The biggest difference between the PS3 and PS5 versions, though, is, of course, the visuals. Dead Space now looks leagues ahead of what EA achieved on Sony's third home console, but that's not to say it impresses for today's standards. In fact, it's graphically where the remake disappoints the most. Compared to The Last of Us: Part I — another PS3 to PS5 remake — Dead Space looks notably average. It could probably pass as a late-gen PS4 title, and that's even on the 30fps Quality Mode. It's quite surprising EA didn't bother with versions for the previous generation of systems because, on a purely visual level, it wouldn't look out of place."
I mean, it never looked fully nextgen in any way, shape or form.

A nice lighting system is hardly enough.

Dude wtf.
This is 80 fucking USD on psn. A remake of dead space... I mean, it looks good but it's not demons souls good looking. Not Calisto looking too.
What are they smoking. And then there is also a deluxe edition with suits and crap. thanks.

ps5 physical version is 65usd here
and steam is 60$.

I still don't get it why console players have to pay so much more. This is annoying. Especially for a remake that is 90% just new graphics.
Don't get me wrong... I like dead space as much as the next guy but it was never one of my favs. It was a largely 8/10 experience back in the day. Dead Space 2 was better.
41 euros on cdkeys for an origin code

Remember when everyone thought this was just gonna be a lazy cash grab remake and Callisto Protocol would be the good one?
Yep, i remember being basically the only one more hyped for ds than callisto, the latter always looked off to me for some reasons.

Feels good to be right.

Is it true the remake was wokified? If there's even a hint of that, no buy.
The only adaptation for modern audience are:

A poster in the ishimura where instead of asian people, you have black people, apparently nobody can hear you switching race in space.
Kendra has smaller bazongas and she is a lesbian apparently, but it's just a throw away line at the beginning.
Isaac look like an actual man and not like an egg with eyes and beard attached via paint.
Nicole now look older

Not too bad overall, you see all of these things in the first 20 min of the game, it's really not worth a skip.

"It doesn't look quite as good as the best looking game there is."

Yeah no shit. It looks great, stop complaining.

What is the best version of this game? Series X or PS5. About to head to Best Buy.

Edit: John Linneman of digital foundry says they are very close, VRS is less noticeable on series x. I'll go with the PS5.

So you're saying you're not playing it? Cool. On to February's games.

Was £33 for me yesterday.

CDkeys is great, but they do hike the price up a little on release day.
This is why pre-ordering months before release on pc make sense if you are sure about liking the game.

The more you wait, the more you pay.

Doesn't make sense if you are using a key site though, as if you had the misfortune to pre-order a turd (Forspoken) then you're stuck with that turkey.

Keys tend to rise on release, then in a couple of weeks will drop right down again.

That's why i said if you are sure about what you are buying.

I tried 3 hours of the demo for forspoken and combat and traversal were good enough to make me buy the game because i knew what i was buying, but if you are one of those people who let reviewers decide what to buy, then yeah it is useless because you have to wait until release and buy at the maximum price if you care about playing at launch.

I usually know if i'm gonna like a game or not after a couple of gameplay videos from the publisher so i decide to preorder and save money because i usually want to play at release date.

And there is something called "cancelling the order" if other gameplay videos\streamers are released before launch and i change my idea, it's not a fixed deal.

Not really. I remember people nitpicking both games and their trailers, which is pretty much tradition here. I'm glad I'm choosing just to enjoy both and not draw lines in the sand over lame comparisons.

There was definitely way more people excited for the new project over the cash grab remake.

It's hard to put aside hate boners for EA for many people, they are clearly the only company in gaming that does scummy stuff:lollipop_tears_of_joy:

People like to hate this game and to call it generic trash and i still waiting for a list of all these games that play like magic infamous since infamous 3 that was released 10 FUCKING YEARS AGO.

Generic my stinky ass.

People in here like to act all elitist, cutscene bad, gameplay is king, but then shat on a game where basically any review said "traversal and combat are a lot of fun, the rest is mediocre".

Sorry, i can't take gaf seriously anymore.

I'm the first one who is gonna score this thing a 7 at best because i can see all the major flaws, but a 7 all thanks to pure gameplay over a 9 where maybe gameplay is 5 or 6 and the rest add to the score is not that bad of a deal.

I could post videos where people with actual skill show how the combat shine but it would be useless and i don't wanna waste time or die on this hill.

No. I am not getting it now.
Not a huge fan of the game anyway. I liked the original one but it was one and done for me.
I would get it if it was cheaper and I've got other games to play now

its clear that as time goes on and the cross gen period starts to fade, that the ps5 and series x will not be able to maintain high framerates at high resolutions. We had a nice period of 4k 60 fps titles for the last few years, but i feel those days are done. Like the ps4 and xbox one, these will primarily be 30fps machines

I was just having fun with you. In all seriousness, if you like a game all about traversal then check out Exo one

Lol sorry that came out more aggressive that it should have.
It's not only traversal, but i'm gonna look at it.

Edit: that's definitely not my type of game at all:lollipop_grinning_sweat:

Ive been feeling it for the past 2 years honestly

Im not upset about it or anything, i thought ratchet and clank rift apart felt fine at 30 fps with rtx, i just think people need to have realistic expectations about what these boxes can do, they are great for their price, and i certainly don't mind keeping my ps5 around for the occasional 30 fps exclusive
