It really does look like more of the same, but with way more varied environments, vehicular combat and god knows what else. Day one regardless. Only Kojima can Kojima.

Hoping that Bring Me The Horizon adds some music

The studio still works on environments, animations, different gameplay mechanics, even if the story isn't ironed out. I'm sure the vast majority of gameplay changes were known soon after the release of DS1. It's not like people who work at Kojima Productions just sat around for 2 years and did nothing
Maybe, but keep in mind that they did work on the PC port and Director's Cut afterwards.

Is it too early to say Decima >>>>>>> UE5?

Decima was already a monster. Almost always has been in fact, all the way back to Killzone shadow fall. Peoples don't quite grasp how graphics were so fucking good back then for 2013.

A custom inhouse engine should always beat out the made for everyone, made so simple with plugins that cheap labour can work on your game, store bought assets not optimized, bloated fucking technologies like Lumen & Nanite where there's a ton of alternatives that will look as good if not even better but run way faster.

The problem is most studios, for cost savings, had accountants figure out its cheaper to drop inhouse engines to go with UE5, performances be damned.

I'll tell ya what. CDPR dropping RedEngine is a huge mistake. Daniel Vavra was on a podcast not too long ago and with his inside sources he says that CDPR struggles a lot with Witcher 4 on UE5.

Its good UE5 helps smaller studios get good quality graphics rapidly, but it should not have been the death of inhouse engines.

Oh wow, that's very interesting. We know UE5 runs like shit on a lot of systems, and CDPR are notorious for being well... CDPR - they defiantly won't have their work cut out for them it seems.

Apologies for the digressing.

lol at all the border references in this trailer. Kojima is so done with American politics lol. I wonder if this game gets cancelled on twitter.

Uhh, ok I'm a bit confused...

I can get the Director's Cut for $20.00 but since I already purchased the standard edition when it released on PS4, it's saying there is the upgrade (digital deluxe directors cut) for just $10.00.

That's the same thing right? Has anyone else upgraded from the PS4 version that can clear that up?

EDIT: I realize this is probably a stupid question, but I'm just sort of confused why it would even give me the option to pay more if I already have the PS4 version with an upgrade path.

Just be happy they are giving you the option to upgrade lol.

Yes, its the same thing. Get the $10 version. it surprisingly even works with the disc version. you just need the ps4 disc inserted when you start the game. if you got the digital version on ps4 then its even easier.

Death stranding has a roster of celebrities, hopefully the backtracking and traversing is fixed, as well as the beach things story. I want to see a good story.

Kojima knocked out his best trailer. A very talented team. Decima is looking to be a really polished engine, Sony’s finest,

Just ignore it and get the $10 upgrade. The $20 option would work in case that you don't want to put your PS4 disc every time you want to play Director's Cut (that is, if you originally bought it on disc, ofc).

I think this is his best trailer since MGS2.
its up there. the thing with Kojima's trailers is that they all hit hard. Path:Apocalypta trailer for DS1 was also masterfully edited. Last year's DS2 trailer was phenomenal. Nearly all of MGSV trailers were literal masterpieces. The first Snake Eater trailer is up there with MGS2 as well.

this guy might be losing his touch when it comes to storytelling, but his trailer game is still amazing.

Thank you, I just realized that it actually explains it in the product description (even says to not buy the other edition lol), I'm an idiot.

This is absolutely what I've wanted from developers this gen

A different playing experience with amazing art style and full use of the hardware. I want these consoles to sweat. But i also understand these are major risks as game development is so damn expensive right now and there needs to be more hits than misses :(
