I just finished playing for a while. Game is good on XBOX. I had a lot of fun, beat a Den Mother boss after 3 tries. I had to stick and move as a barbarian.

I would like to play with a group of people but I don't know that I have friends that want to play.

File this one under "game my 12 year old self would never believe if I traveled back in time and described it to myself".

It's literally a prettier version of Diablo 1 with a few rough edges sanded off. If this gets higher than a 75 on Metacritic I'm going on a hunger strike.

I'm amazed at how undervalued innovation + ambition is in this industry.

I keep getting disconnected after a few mins.....

I like the game, still deciding if to get it on the release date, or just wait until it is cheap. I am not in a hurry...

Just checking in... been at work all day and wondering if I should even attempt to play tonight. Is it a shitshow, or are servers holding up?

I just got disconnected after 25min play with a Code 36... something. Can't connect either. Now in Queue with 42 minutes again.
I comfort myself with the thought that tomorrow it will probably be better otherwise i would be pretty frustrated.

PC is constantly disconnecting now. Might not be worth it at the moment until things are more stable.
Many users reporting this across various sites.

I’m not sure this is going to be my kind of game. Certainly not something I’d buy. If it gets added to Game Pass I’d play it with friends but that’s about it.

For me it’s just too repetitive. And I realize many games could be called repetitive but “boredom” for me here just starts way sooner than with other games. Now my character is a barbarian, combat getting repetitive kinda makes sense I guess. I’ll make sure to try out the other classes too.

Which one offers the most variety?

Blizzard is such a shitshow. How are they not able to be prepared for this amount of players. Especially after the first weekend...
Do they really think I will pre-order if I can’t play it for the first few days anyway without waiting 40 minutes for login?

I turned down the sound options except the music to get a better listen. It’s pretty good actually. Especially with headphones. You can clearly hear the Diablo 2 influence at times.

So I took the day off to play and my experience so far has been that the Druid and the Necromancer are THE most ludicrously overpowered classes in the game. I can only assume that they have had the least balancing applied since they have been the least tested, but they are absolutely ABSURD.

- Necromancers minion completely change the way the game feels as a magic user compared to the Sorcerer. I can freely move around without worrying about beeing chased or focused down. My corpse explosion costs NOTHING AT ALL to cast. I only need a single dead body and then suddenly I can detonate the room. Boss fights are a bit harder since there are less bodies, but out in the world I feel like a damn god.

- The Druid has by far and away the MOST variety of any class in the game. You want to DPS? He can be a ranged lightning godDPS or a melee werewolf DPS. You want to tank? He can be a melee "Wearbear" tank that becomes an absolute HOUSE or this strange ranged utility type "Earth" based tank that can spam stuns and knock backs via boulders, rock spikes, and rock armor. Or you can mix it all together. He can be literally whatever you want him to be.

I am honestly shocked how much better the two feel compared to the others. If they stay this powerful and the other classes don't get anything new I could totally see the majority of the playerbase at launch being either Necromancer or Druid. The other classes just look boring and simple by comparison.

Wow, 27 minute wait, I wait through the whole queue, then when it starts connecting it gives me a login time-out and spits me back to main screen with a 32 minute wait.

This is what I want. Enjoying Barbarian but want something different, played Barb and Necro in D3.. this is a nice switch up.

Yea I got kinda bored as a Barb. It was build fury, whirlwind, build fury, stomp, rinse and repeat. I didn’t think I had that many options at the beginning. His weapons are cool except they aren’t utilized like how I’d utilize them or at least at a lower level. I’m thinking Druid. I like the idea of tanking as a bear.

The game is fucking awful on consoles, it really feels like it's playing itself. It even made me question why I liked Diablo series in the first place, albeit I do expect more from games now, than I did back then.

On PC however the game feels great. Still missing some of the better parts of Diablo 2, making your default ability anything more powerful than a peashooter move is a bad step they've taken, it lessens the importance and feeling of abilities when your base move is an ability.

I played Necro first, then Rogue, but then the Rogue rubber banded to hell and couldn't get out of that first town, so I went back to Necro.

I have 0 intention of ever playing with anyone.

I can't justify $90 CND +tax for this though.

I'll wait for a deep sale myself, Blizzard games do go on sale.

I'll never touch Diablo on a console again, it's missing the visceral feel.

how is the necromancer ??

Fun so far IMO.
I'm not far along. Seen multiple discs today. Every time I load back in I'm getting 25-40 minute queues.
Would imagine it wouldn't look too dissimilar to this on launch day...

Still have had fun in the beta though! Looking forward to some time with Druid later this weekend.

I'm not going to comment on the gameplay. I'm just going to whine about how whoever was responsible for the look of Diablo 3 is still working on this series and needs to stop. Diablo 1 and 2 were serious and sometimes scary. Lilith appearing in a church cutscene is television camp cheese. I'm so embarrassed for them.

I played a little tome looks like the same diablo but IDK the graphics don't look THAT amazing over 3.....its darker but there something off about this game, also the inventory everything is just 1 slot, no potion management, and poor mans dodge roll....oh well

Alright, got to lvl 20 for the rewards and i'm done until the game is officially released.

Feels like everything D3 should have been. Engaging story so far (although nothing special), good visuals with a dark atmosphere and a somewhat intricate talent tree.

The open world is interesting, and the dungeon rewards make the exploration very rewarding.

The negatives have to be the constant stuttering (especially in the city). And i wasn't particularly impressed with the gameplay on my Druid (although the earlier levels are normally more slow and boring until the op builds come online).

The gameplay feels different (not necessarily better or worse). It's slower and more strategical at times, but feels laggier than d3 where you click a button and the spell triggers (here i spam the button and it gets cast after your current action).

The beta experience was surprisingly smooth for me (EU). Yes the city is super laggy but had 0 dcs and the queues were tolerable (45 mins the first one, 20 the second one)

Looking forward to play the full game!

I agree that it feels much better on PC. Also the sharper image really helps those environment details pop.

As an aside, playing this on a ultrawide with headphones is insanely immersive. Having a blast tonight.

Are you guys not disconnecting constantly? Did it stabilize?
It's crazy what people are willing to put up with to play this thing.

Had constant disconnects on Xbox last weekend. Not a single issue on PC today. Been connected since noon.

Yeah I played for a good 3 hours at noon with no problems, but then I quit the game and when I came back in I keep getting disconnects.
Perhaps those who haven't quit have had a smooth experience of not needing to log back in.

Edit: it's fairly bad, I got in for maybe 5 minutes then got kicked. The closed beta was much better as it stabilized within the hour.

Edit2: I'm starting to think it's intentional. Maybe this is how they "stress" their system by trying to create connection attempts.
