Whoa, I was dead wrong about the alternate character thing. There's been a lot of news over the last two weeks (siliconera).

Disgaea Dimension 2 lets players walk around the Demon King Castle as Laharl. You can also explore the area as Etna or Flonne who have different conversation scenes. Another new feature are mid-battle event scenes which are triggered if certain conditions are fulfilled. In one of these events, Laharl praises Sicily and she gets bashful.

Neat that they're adding FE-esque dialogue.

I'd be afraid to put her in battle with Laharl proper -- wouldn't the very presence of her reduce his stats by 50%? Or maybe she isn't quite that..*ahem*...blessed by his standards.

That moment in the original Disgaea made me fall out of a chair laughing. Stoked for this one.

She's wondering why she looks like the 2P color from some fighting game. i.e. even she doesn't know why she's changed colors.

Will be interesting to see how it plays out story wise, but pallete and gender swaps seem to fit right in with the general humor and tone of the disgaea games at least.

Also cool to at least have confirmation since we were speculating based off that artwork from the last batch of shots they released of this game on here that it was indeed a female laharl and not just a weird angle of him or another seperate char.

A. short of NisA shutting down in the next 6 months i really don't think there is much worry about a disgaea title coming over.

B. if they cross released it on the vita, they couldn't make a new handheld version that contains all the DLC 3 years after the original release

It looks like it's probably going to a chapter or so, since you can see regular Laharl in some of the screenshots there.

I imagine Laharl-chan could become a separate character and you can have both at the same time, or later on in the game you could change Laharl with a bill or something.
