Another terrible aspect of the game that people don't talk about much. The enemy hit feedback and animations are ass. If you compare Dino's stinger animation to even fucking DMC1, it looks garbage lmfao. His guns look and sound like pee shooters. My issue is still the slashing VFX when enemies get hit. They look like huge muzzle flashes, its irritating to watch.
Preach, nobody fucking wanted this turd. Thank you Itsuno for DMC5.It's a garbage game that should have never existed.
It turns arguably the best character action combat ....into watered down bullshit. It's not fun to play imo.
It's story straight up sucks. It's so deep up it's own ass that it doesn't realize how boring it is. The characters stuck, the designs sucks, and the humour is really bad. It's weird because they focused a lot in the story.
The only people who like it are people who haven't played DMC, or people who don't like DMC. It's a terrible way to do a reboot.
DmC reminds me of MGSV. It would be a good game if it were a new IP.
But compared to the rest of the series (1, 3, 4, 5) it's just a straight up bad DMC game. I hope it stays dead forever.
Also I'm so fucking glad DMC5 exists. It's all I ever wanted.
Hell yeah, good stuff.Didn’t Noisia make the soundtrack to it?
I played DMC 3 and 4 before DmC and I still really liked this new one. It was easier and watered down but I dont have an issue with that, i'm not that good at the game and it made the game feel less like a chore and I really enjoyed how quick and easy it was to switch between weapons' mid combos and try different things. DMC 5 honestly was a bit of a let down for me, I hate the aesthetics (the characters look really weird in it), the story is dog shit so lets not even talk about story here, and there were areas towards the end of the game where it felt like such a chore. It's a garbage game that should have never existed.

Ah yes, the one with the best edgy Vergin whose dark fedora style devil trigger is abortion maker sniper rifle.
Also, "FUUUUUCKKYEEEWWW"
Considering the back down that happened in the definitive edition of the game (where they removed all traces of the![]()
Sometimes I wonder if people here have been playing the same game, cant talk about "dark fedora wearing" when DMC 5 features budget Kylo Ren. Legit some of these comments on story and aesthetic are laughable considering its something the series is known for.
Yeah, I agree. It may not be as deep as the games before... but yeah whatever, games don't have to be deep to be entertaining, especially action games where the only purpose is to kill everything in sight.I have an easy fix for how to make it a good game.
Remove/replace the title "Devil May Cry".
Suddenly it's a fun romp, goofy character action B-game with no pressure/nitpicking from fans that all parties are cool with.
It existing as DmC DE is great; it's a perfect filter for online discourse.I have an easy fix for how to make it a good game.

If you don't see it as a reboot to replace what came before and see it as a spin-off or just an action title, then it does definitely more good than bad.
Easily better than a lot of other titles in the same genre, but they don't have the pressure from the nitpicky purist crowd.
I think artistically and visually, by far, it's the best looking game in the franchise. Their art department, specifically the level artists, had a blast of creativity with this game.It existing as DmC DE is great; it's a perfect filter for online discourse.
For the record, I think it's a great game that stands tall in the franchise and I'd recommend it to anyone who's interested in the action genre.
I really dislike how the characters look in DMC 5, I think the style is wrong and is inferior to the more anime style of the previous gamesNo way I'm going from this

The reign of supreme could not be understated .
If you have a PC, definitely play DMC4DE on it, Turbo Mode alone is worth the price of entry and the additional characters are also a blast to play as. The backtracking might turn you off in this day and age though, arguably the worst aspect of that game.I loved it! It is the first Devil May Cry game I actually finished! I got close to finishing DMC4 but my PS3 died and so did my save with it. =[
I also dont like the DMC5's visuals style but i hate DmC's style waaaay more, everything looks dirty and gross.I really dislike how the characters look in DMC 5, I think the style is wrong and is inferior to the more anime style of the previous games
Also a good point! Dante was always an edgy character. You may differentiate now between the edginess of old school Dante and DmC Dante, so you may enjoy one iteration of the character but not the other, but at its core, he was always edgy, so criticizing him for that is kinda likeNot really a big fan of DMC since the combat isn't my cup of tea, but I find it funny that people hated DmC for being cringey when all the previous games were infested with cheesiness.
People were calling the rebooted Dante edgy, and then DMCV literally introduced the god of the edge lords, black clothes and all.
DMC2's Dante was always my favourite just based on the promo render.I think artistically and visually, by far, it's the best looking game in the franchise. Their art department, specifically the level artists, had a blast of creativity with this game.
The perfect DMC game would have the character designs of 5, Dante's Jacket from part 2, the storytelling of part 1 and 3, the combat of 5, and the environmental art of DmC.
I'm assuming you're on PlayStation; if you're willing to wait and go for digital you can get it at $10 when it's discounted.Actually considering grabbing the DE that's like 18 bucks on Amazon right now. Never played the non DE version.
I'll keep an eye on it and pick it up on sale probably. I hadn't used this site before (but have used similar ones for other products).I'm assuming you're on PlayStation; if you're willing to wait and go for digital you can get it at $10 when it's discounted.

But yea just skip the vanilla version unless you wanna mod it on PC.
Even going by your exaggeration, I'd consider that ranking system a plus point when a 5 year old has beaten Bloodborne.the fighting system is still dumbed down to no end... all that really changed was the red and blue enemies not being invincible towards other colors and the ranking system is now tuned for 6yo and not 2yo anymore... yay
I haven't used that site myself but I figured it'd be good to include some proof instead of claiming you can get it for $10 on sale and expecting you to believe me, lol.I'll keep an eye on it and pick it up on sale probably. you said it yourself, the point is not to defeat the enemies, so if the game is easy what is the point? you are not being cool the game is being cool for youIt was a good entry for new players, the combat was easy and I can imagine they could ramp up the complexity with each expansion/sequel.
And now here in DMC5 I can't do shit.
Games hard, and yes I can defeat enemies somehow but that is not the point of DMC now is it..
thought the same at first but the new designs grew on meI really dislike how the characters look in DMC 5, I think the style is wrong and is inferior to the more anime style of the previous games
did you play dmc5 though? Not really a big fan of DMC since the combat isn't my cup of tea, but I find it funny that people hated DmC for being cringey when all the previous games were infested with cheesiness.

I wanna know what made you think I haven't played it.did you play dmc5 though?
it doesn't sound like you did, otherwise you should be able to see the differences.
Oh wow, we have an elitist over here.it's not underrated.
it is made for casuals, the fighting system ia braindead and so easy to to completely exploit that it's actually kinda hilarious.
it was 30fps on console, which was a fucking joke to begin with
and to top it all off, the characters were astonishingly bad.
it's a DMC for people who don't wanna use their brain and just mash buttons and look cool doing it (basically like the old God of War games... but without the good graphics and the spectacle)
just mash X a few times without getting hit, "SSS RANKING!!! YOU'RE SO COOL!" infinitely chain air attacks because the devs were too stupid to make a functioning fighting system... and of course casuals will love it
1) cringey is a really generic terms and what someone finds cringey varies from person to person.I wanna know what made you think I haven't played it.
I made two statements, and they're both correct:
1) DMC has always been cringey. DMC5 is cheesy from start to finish.
The deadweight drama, Nico, the stupid MJ scene, V's edgelord voice, the phone booth scenes... I can probably list more things if I had the time.
2) DMC5 has someone who's as edgy and stupid as reboot Dante. To be clear, that is V. Constantly quoting literature and proverbs like a holier-than-thou intellectual when you look like an emo kid is as bad as excessive swearing.
I don't care if he looks and acts this way because he's Virgil's withering human self. When compared to reboot Dante he still takes the cake.
Btw, I'm not saying DMC5 is a bad game. It's undoubtedly an outstanding game, and I know that over-the-top cheesiness is part of the series.
