Nope, not even once.

I vote with my wallet because I know they just want market capture before jacking the prices up to actually cover costs. Microsoft Gaming will be a share holder funded charity for years to come but not forever.

It also incentivizes developers to produce “content” quantity over game quality. Same way all other streaming services have.

No, i will only use Steam and GOG for my PC games, i want access to all the files to use mods and whatever else i chose to in certain games and don't like closed eco system versus the open one i'm use to,

Gamers will like it because of the cheaper price, and big library, but we are now getting cheaper level mid games being made because of it that i don't want to pay top dollar for, so swings and roundabout's in the end.

MS Reward points - 35000 gets you 3 months, which is just enough time to amass another 35000+. I suspect there will come a time when you can’t keep this rolling, but I’m willing to chuck them some real money for one or two months of the year as required.

I paid for it with the gold conversion and reward points, never paid monthly. I had it from October 2018 till summer last year at about £3-£4 a month equivalent. Have no intention of getting it again.

Gamepass doesn't work with my gaming lifestyle. Nowadays I'm more about playing a game in short spurts over a long period of time.
Gamepass is more for the addicted FOMO crowd who constantly want something new.

It's interesting though as if subscription services do become popular then I see gaming reverting back to an arcade type set up. People will have to be wowed in the first 5 mins or they will move on just like how arcades worked. But that also means games will need to try to make you spend more money like arcade games as well for anyone to make money off them.
A lot of free to play games work like this already.

The sub will just be the entrance fee of sorts into the virtual " arcade " but then to get the most out of the games you will need to spend more money.

Best outcome will be if we get shorter more focused games

Worst outcome would be everything switched over to mobile gotcha games or Fortnite type constantly leading you to buy the newest packs.

I used the Xbox All Access deal to finance a Series X when there was no other way to find a next-gen system and no video cards. It made me pay for two years of Gamepass.

When I finished paying it off I sold it and never subbed again even though I'd solved my PC hardware woes and got a used Series S. I just mostly use it for old games on my account.

It was kinda okay but also really disappointing. Not what I hoped or expected. It's either a giant demo section for payment, or a pressure to play games on a timetable because every day you don't play you're losing value that can run out. I realize this isn't a concern for many gamer's mindsets or lifestyles.

It didn't offer me access to many big games I'd have been pining to play anyway, just stuff to feel like I was using it. IE Starfield.

Imagine if Nintendo had a service that unlocked their whole catalog. Of course I'd pay it with their large number of high-priced exclusive titles. But then they would turn into Xbox and go broke.

I have a sub untill 26, that's twice i did the 3 years of gold to GPU, in this about 6 years total... it will be about 5 GBP per month, so well well worth it to me, after my sub will end i will see if the price will still be worth it to me, if not i will probably sub only when there's a bunch of games i want.. to several months of GP.
All in all the service was and is of great value to me. :)

I did only for certain releases or exclusives that interested me. Considering there have been very few of those items i've probably been subbed maybe a total of 4months in the last 2-3years.
Didnt bother for Indy since I am waiting for it on PS5.

Yeah I pay for PC gamepass monthly. I have dropped it for several months but picked it back up. The steady stream of games recently has made it worth keeping.

I got the 3 year Gold conversation deal when it was 1:1 with a launch month Series X. Sold it June 2023 before my game pass even expired, just played a few things like Starfield for some hours on my aging gaming PC. I can’t see why you would subscribe monthly (outside of rewards and locked-in conversion or VPN deals. While I had it there would be months without an interesting game to me. Plus some of the best games go on sale for 10 to 15 dollars and you own them. Best part of not owning was I had little purchased in the Xbox ecosystem so it didn’t matter when I sold off the console. I did like playing through games like high on life with other Gaffers, seemed book club like. I think the key is just to sub a month when a few things have built up that you want to play, or ignore game pass and buy to own and reward the publisher/developer directly.

So far I’ve had 4 months of GamePass for a grand total of $7 for when Indiana Jones came out. Rest were free trials.

edit: correction, one of my free months was actually the $1 deal, so I've spent a total of $8 on 4 months of GamePass.

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
Pre-paid till 2027, will probably periodically up it in 3 to 6 increments somewhere in the middle with appropriate deals or reward discounts.

MS rewards has me good thru July 2026. After that, I'll probably just do one off redemptions here and there for games I want to play. Hopefully rewards is still around then lol

Nah, I pay for a month when a game comes out I wanna play, and then go to cancel it a few days before the month is up.

You know what's great? I've done this a few times and Microsoft has literally given me a full refund 2-3 times so far. I always seem to get the cancel now for refund or continue playing for ___ days.

i bought 3 years at once so I don't really know how to answer your poll.

With that said, after my 3 years expire later this year, I'm probably just going to buy a month here and a month there as needed.

Nah I canceled it in 2023.

I’m kinda picky and there are only a small handful of games that strike my fancy at any given time. I’ve found that I’m more likely to find my next game on a Steam sale or in my existing library/backlog than on Gamepass.

These type of polls on a pro-Sony site really? You knew the answer before you put the poll up.
A pro-Sony site? lol.

There is a larger number of PlayStation owners in the world. Naturally there is going to be a higher concentration on any forum that isn’t called Xbox - The Official Xbox Forum for Xbox Users…

But that also doesn’t negate that Gamepass is pretty worthless to many gamers. Thats why the subscription base isn’t growing and Xbox has been forced to put their games on competitor consoles.

Been doing it monthly for a long time now. I started with the 3 year 1 dollar conversion thing when it first started. Did the 1 dollar conversion thing again for 6 years total then been paying monthly for Ultimate after that. A few months ago I converted my Ultimate to PC only and been paying that monthly.
Most recent PC gamepass monthly cost with tax was $12.98

edit- Lets see starting in 2017(gamepass launch date)
120 +1
120 +1
15X12
13*2
I've spent aroung $448 on Gamepass since 2017 (or $56 average per year)
I think I've gotten my money's worth.
However paying monthly from here on out will cost me $156 per year (Or two full priced games)

Edit edit-I just looked back at my bills and see that Gold was $15 way back then. 15X12=180 per year not 120 need to add another 120 to that final total for $568 total spent on Gamepass ($81 per year)

I use the deal to get 3 years of game pass ultimate for around $100. My subscription ends in May and I'll be doing the deal again. I don't understand why so many people here hate gamepass, it's such a great deal and has introduced me to many games I would have never played.

I was a subscriber back when they had the initial offer to convert Gold to it for cheap. After that I've let it lapse and never returned since I was rarely using it during the discounted part.

Because the app on PC is utter trash I only subscribe for certain games I know I won't be playing twice or I don't want to own permanently. Last time I subbed was for Hellblade 2. 12EUR seemed like a good deal. Finished it on three evenings. Tried a few other games, got annoyed by the app again and could refund the game pass.

I buy it yearly; I have a teenage son who plays a ton of different games and honestly, Gamepass and PS Plus have saved hundreds of dollars buying games every year. If either went away, I wouldn't care too much, but it is nice having that extensive library of games for him to play.

I used my 3 year XBL upgrade path for $1 + added a year on Black Friday for ultimate a couple years back... It will run out this coming November.
I don't think I will subscribe it anymore though. Maybe will keep PC game pass only, and retire my XSX as BC machine.

I barely used it when I had it running for 2 years. The only exclusives that came out between 2020 and 2021 were Halo and Forza 5. I played those I guess. I also played some oldies like NG2 and KI which I just ended up buying. And I beat a few indies and Scarlet Nexus which could be had for a low price as well.

For me it wasn't worth it. I like games such as Resident Evil and the such, I had to buy those anyway.

Service isn’t interesting enough for me. Don’t even use it at all.

That €1 sub was great till it was over. But even back then there just aren’t that many games I really want to play.

I've subscribed to ultimate from day one mainly for cloud...then dropped it to PC GamePass when I got a Switch. Currently I pay every month. I've found games I want to try pretty often but I would say my gaming tastes are pretty eclectic. I play everything. Action adventure, sports, racing, rpgs, mmos, shooters, metroidvanias, roguelikes, walking sims, RTS, battle royales, extraction shooters, 4x strategy, card battlers, puzzles...i mean i'll try anything once with games. So I find sub models like Gamepass and humble Bundle to fit right within my budget and thirst for something new.
