Pre paid ultimate for a couple months to a year every time there's a sale on cdkeys. I'm not wasting because I get enough out of it. It's a good service and I use it all the time. It's a good subscription

I am on the last leg of my most recent three year "loophole" subscription. Once it expires, I will either go PC annual or only when I want to play a game. I'm kind of done with paying for subs I do not use frequently.

For now... ..I voted monthly because I am still subbed.*

Nope and I don't want to support it. It came bundled in when I bought my Series X but I didn't keep going.

More power to the people who sub only to play a certain game then drop it, but I don't like that sense of urgency.

How the hell do Microsoft make billions on this?!

Simple…. GAF is not reflective of reality. I’d bet most of those people that said ‘no’ don’t even own an Xbox. Just came in to say ‘ no’

MS knows how they make their money off this. Better to ask them than some randoms on a thread who most likely hate the surface anyway….. what type of answers are you expecting in the GAF 🤷🏾‍♂️

I subscribe every month and still buy games that I like in sales. But I guess I’m the only Xbox owner on GAF that does that? 🤷🏾‍♂️

I had my fun with it. Fell in love with the Yakuza franchise, but really, if I play a game and like it enough to finish it, I want to own it. Prob 75% of my gaming time is replaying shit. I’ve bought a bunch of games I tried on gamepass. Can’t see myself subbing again unless there’s some crazy month where like 5 gamepass games release and I’m a strong “maybe” on all of them.

When looked in to this last time couldn't find the option. To pay yearly
You have to buy game pass core 12 months cards and then you pay the fee to convert it to ultimate.

I get two cards for 24 months, with the conversion gives me 12 months of Ultimate.

Interesting reading this thread. Everybody is using their points to by GPU. But I pay for GPU and use my points to buy games.

Doesn’t this just prove that they have the best eco system, from a consumers point of view? Subscribing and buying games…. And then getting points to buy more games. I’m his is why it do it and why it still sounds good.

I think of my friends list….. people with kids…. People who work 9-5 and gotta make time just to jump on the he box and do a few rounds of COD. GPU is great for a lot of people and some of them have not tried it yet. They don’t know how to sell this product. So many people living in the edges out in the world, and GPU is a big deal for ghetto people that I know.

Hardware and games is getting more expensive and I don’t wanna see no gamete or young kid get priced out of it. GPU is a god send for some of the single mothers I know. I hope it continues.

I used to pay monthly. Now I kinda wait for deals but then even... now I have such a backlog that I want to finish some of the games I bought before diving into gamepass for the games again. It is pretty fire that Rogue Trader dropped today. Been playing that recently and love that game and happy a bigger audience gets some exposure to it

It's a great service, I get it monthly. Most of the games on my Xbox are from gamepass but I'm trying to grow my Xbox library as my PS library dwarfs it, so I try buy games not on gamepass too.

GerAlt-Right. Ciriously.
None. I stacked way back in 2002 and my subscription expires in May of 2025.

Not gonna renew and will likely never touch it again.

The sooner Gamepass dies and ceases to exist, the better.

I currently use reward points. I'm currently stacked through Feb 2027 and I have enough points banked for another 18 months.
Same here, though I am slowly running out as they remove point options.

Once I run out I'll probably just bank points and dip in. There are very few main games I play on gamepass, usually some indies that would be cheaper than a monthly sub.

It's getting to be that way for me, too. I don't see a reason in maxing out the stack. Once I run out I'll probably just dip in here and there if there's something I want to play but I don't want to spend $70 for. I used to play game pass all the time but I've really cut back due to my growing addiction to buying cheap Steam keys.

I thought that was done and dusted, where do you go? I'm in Australia so assuming need a VPN for the region you buy in?
Usually instant-gaming because of the currency rates in my country.

Not sure about the vpn question, i just buy the keys that match the region I'm in. Usually the website kinda tells you if the option you're looking at can be activated in your region.

i'd never owned an xbox, & it took me about a year & a half to go through their entire base game pass catalog, checking everything out. only sub now if something that looks interesting to me is released (last time was months ago). it's not like there's an infinite number of good/great games up there...

Zero.

Imagine you are willingly putting yr only power you have as a consumer into the hands of one of the biggest billion dollar corporation on this planet. Sounds not like the smartest idea.
This lol. I was horrified back when gamepass was getting all that extra hype and propaganda back at its peak. I do not want a gaming netflix. Games are just to long for that.

I'm on a trial of GamePass - are you guys talking about the reward points I keep getting notifications that I've earned? I went into my profile and see it has little challenges like an MMO (play X games a week etc). Is that what you fellows are redeeming for free Gamepass ?

I have had it since launch but no good vote option for what I do.

Use VPN to buy and stack up cheap gold cards, between each card redemption turn on and off auto renewal for an extra free month, convert to gamepass ultimate.

Last round even after they changed it to 3:2 ratio for gold to gp it still worked out to $5.XX CAD/month, which is what I am willing to pay.

Who the fuck actually pays full price for GP?

50% of the thread is like it's a great rental service but I don't pay full price due to sales or stacking. That is the problem really isn't it? I don't blame you at all.
25% is like I sub for a month or 3 for 1 or 2 games, then get the fuck out. Understandble, but it's a rental service.
The rest are happy to pay full price, good on you. True fan.

Outside of this form, the remaining audience probably pays full price. These discounts and stacking is why it's hard to trust anything the company says.

They got me to demo Starfield, They got me to demo Indian Jones, which I will buy on PS5 when it comes out since I liked what I played.

It's a bad deal, way too expensive, and a pretty mid selection of old games that can be had for dirt cheap for Steam on sale.

I don't even spend 120+$ per year on games. And I own all of my games.

Gamepass renters are just suckers at this point in time.

I used to be on the gamepass train with the cheap method.... But even then I don't know wether I got my moneys worth out of it. I've played a handful of games over those 3 years that were great experiences, but I could've gotten at deep sale somewhere down the line. Now that it expired I haven't resubbed yet outside of the black ops 6 month and I really don't have any desire to resub. Maybe if they release a native steam deck app but I don't see that happening.
