I suppose my fault is having seen too many marriages that aren't ideal, haven't worked out and it's pretty awful. Also one of the people I look up to is an old professor who held the same belief of marriage not having to be a defining factor of a lasting relationship. I think he was with his wife for 17 years before they actually wed. They did that for tax reasons, rather than ohhh we're taking it to the next leveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelabsolutely. i might drink some cheap wine this weekend myself. good enough for jack kerouac its good enough for me.
and i dont have anything against married life, really. i've just never held it as a goal, something to aspire to. if it happens it'll happen, if it doesn't i wont be too broken up about it.
