Today, Techland announced that Dying Light 2: Stay Human has been updated to take advantage of the new PS5 Pro console released last week by Sony. The visual improvements empowered by ray tracing and/or higher graphics settings apply to all four presets:
  • Balanced: Upscaled 4K at 60 FPS. Now with increased base resolution (1512p), improved Global Illumination, Screen Space Reflections and Sub Surface Scattering Quality.
  • Resolution: Native 4K at 30 FPS. Now with better Contact Shadows, Global Illumination, Screen Space Reflections and Sub Surface Scattering Quality.
  • Performance: Upscaled 4K with VRR, up to 120 FPS. Now with increased base resolution (1440p), better Contact Shadows, Global Illumination, Screen Space Reflections, Spot Shadows, Sub Surface Scattering Quality and Fog Quality.
  • Quality: Upscaled 4K at 30 FPS with Ray Tracing. Now with increased base resolution (1440p), better Contact Shadows, Global Illumination and Sub Surface Scattering Quality.
It's the perfect time for new PS5 Pro owners to check out the game even if they don't own it. Sony has announced that Dying Light 2: Stay Human is part of the new PlayStation Plus lineup and will be available for PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers starting Tuesday, November 19.

Why do people keep bringing up the one mode thing? As far as I’m aware he never once said that the goal was to get rid of performance/quality modes. Maybe I’m the one that’s wrong though.
He said they wanted to get rid of the choice of chosing lower visuals of the ps5 performances modes over framerates. They've delivered that. People just can't read, or trolling.

Don't ever play a PC game then lol.
Nit what i ment.

On pc i know what i am changing as i can adjust every setting to my liking and apply what i want . Customize it to my liking.

Here you get 4 options that vaguely explains what it is but not really. Especially not in the games menu ala hogwarts with its multiple modes.

Spiderman 2 is setting some baselines im settings menu selecting rt midd or high same for some other options so i knkw what i am changing.

When you give me predeterment settings with no explanation i get confused and frustrated.

Sure i can try each option and see which one works best but why? Why cant they just detail it all in the settings.

Example, says rt but what rt? Shadows? Reflextiins? AO?

Fucking 30fps modes.AGAIN

I just can't anymore, this fucking console was supposed to close the gap and yet, here we are again trying to pick a fucking mode.

Seriously, 30fps on consoles needs to die - now more than ever since most of the people have migrated to OLED screens/TV which while they're good, it's impossible to play at sub 60fps due to that fuxking judder.

Maybe just don't play the 30fps mode then??? Its not like that's the only option. Some people like to play at the highest quality possible and don't mid 30fps. More options the better.

Ok so the original Balanaced mode on base PS5 was 1296p, so this is a 15% boost in base resolution but PSSR upscaling wasn't confirmed, so likely FSR2 upscaling as per the original game. Will be slightly noticeable I think but not a game changer. Remains to be seen how much of a difference the other improvements are.

It's better than nothing I guess?

Then choose the 60fps or 120fps maybe?

Some gamers are so simple minded. I want every game to have a bells and whistles fidelity mode, because those games running unlocked will play the best on PS6.

There is no way I'll play every PS5 game during the next 4 years and there will be some games I want to replay, so being able to play them at even better resolution and framerates on the PS6 at launch is a great option.

Performance mode is the recommended mode to play 95% of the time and now those performance modes look as good as the fidelity modes on base PS5. It's not a hard concept to understand.

I kind of get what you're saying because I've been playing Hogwarts Legacy and had to test out the modes before landing on Performance mode.

Performance mode gave me the level of framerates I wanted, so I didn't need to go with HFP. I was pretty tempted to go with Fidelity RT, but it seemed a hair too slow.

If it were a better game, I'd play it again on PS6 after finishing it on PS5 Pro, but its begun to really become a bit of a grind.
