Jones episode?
Yogalla in the crystal episode?
Really happy to hear that! Love it when people try out "new" things.Listening to the FT impressions on it right now and watching a bit of Ian streaming it before I'm srsly considering bumping Ys8 down and just getting this. The buzz for this divinity has just been getting stronger and stronger. I've even seen people get into it on my steam fl that never played a CRPG before.
2017 poses hard choices.

Has the podcast been recorded already? Because oh boy, EA is going to feel it.

The Shadow of War lootbox controversy was so overblown here on GAF that it was outright embarrassing that so many people were maliciously misinformed about how they were implemented in the game itself. So many right-wing scare tactics used that I was damned sure the next thing I was going to read is that they were using lootboxes to smuggle in Isis fighters to destroy your America-loving hometown.
Beat the game in the standard action-adventure gametime and wouldn't have even known about the damned things if it weren't for all the scare threads here. And you're still going to get those threads by people who haven't even come within a hundred miles of the game talking about how they heard you can't get past the first act without spending time in the marketplace (because that is how misinformation warps facts over time).
I don't know if that's fair, the segment name was clearly tongue in cheek. I just think they didn't have great ideas to fix loot boxes because... it's hard to fix loot boxes. Other than "no more loot boxes." Plus I get the impression they don't bother Jones as much as others and he kinda led the fixing discussion.
It's immediately obvious that there is zero impact in Shadow of War. I'm not talking about loot boxes in general, but the implementation in Shadow of War alone.lol wat. If anything, the idea that lootboxes won't have any impact on the game design itself is some naive, corporation hugging trickle down economics bullshit. The entire idea is based on the laughable premise that corporations will keep the little person in mind, when in reality they're only interested in making even more money.
Frame Trap: The polite Easy Allies podcast
Uh, what? Is this a drive by? It's always a shame when you try to have meaningful, well-reasoned discussion and it gets sprayed as "polite" or "overly cautious".
Fuck. That.

Think happy thoughts, Ben. Just remember: weekly hunts.Uh, what? Is this a drive by? It's always a shame when you try to have meaningful, well-reasoned discussion and it gets sprayed as "polite" or "overly cautious".

I could be totally wrong, but my guess is that post was about the Frame Trap game and how Kyle just asks people to shout out answers in his games and there is more regulation in Frame Trap.
I think he's just quoting what Brad said on the podcast itself?
Amen I love that EZA is one of the few places that tries to promote empathy even when it gets hard at least that's the sense I get in their answers to us/in general. I appreciate that a lot. Kudos to all of them and everyone that are/is just exposed to more of that stuff and still try their best.I for one am very happy with the fact that EZA is a more polite, thoughtful, and professional place to get gaming discussion from. All while still feeling completely genuine.
It drives me a bit crazy just as a viewer seeing the vitriol in youtube comments and other places of community discussion, so I can't imagine how frustrating it must feel to be one of the Allies and constantly receive this abhorrent behaviour directed at them.
Then I'm just an idiot. Sorry.
I kind of want an EZA editorial show. News desk. Random host. Semi weekly or monthly. Single take. Fire and brimstone from the heart.

Ben, I'll be honest, you see some perceived slight, then it seems like you get super angry or take it the wrong way.
Then the original post explains that it was something innocuous, and then you apologize.
I'm not trying to be mean, but it's something I think of when I think about your posts on here.
I said random host! Are you saying you want
A Final Bosman?
That could be the spiciest hotake yet. Really well done by Ben and crew. I like seeing the discussion approach with more nuance than the usual discord I see on it regarding the topic. Which is either apathy or everything is evil. Like loot boxes themselves the topics can get real murky
And man that SW news suuuuuucks. Please free up the SW IP from EA. I miss Star Wars games I was interested in.
It's okay. You are allowed to make an honest mistake. I think everyone gets the pressure you are under. By the way, great frametrap.Back-of-the head noise is a good way of phrasing it. I tend to really enjoy this thread because it's a lot less noisy than other places we've got, but a lot of times, especially today I'm overindulging in it. I'm becoming aggressive when there's really no need for it.
How many total gameplay hours did it take you to get the true ending without using a single microtransaction?

Ben, you are the best and always well-reasoned. Don't let people bring you down, especially people who seem to be dicks if they have something against of being polite and thoughtful. You also can be critical and I love that, but even then you give time and consideration to that critique. That makes the criticism more valuable and worth to listen. So don't feel any pressure to act differently than you do, please.Maybe and I'm probably jumping to the wrong conclusions. A lot of things are very irritating at the moment.
I've seen some criticism of Easy Allies being too polite and it just always rubs me the wrong way. Like it's bad for a person to think before they speak or care about what they're saying. I think enough people scream angrily at cameras and although I do do that, I don't want it to just be that.
I said random host!
I think one of EZA's strengths is that they have a bunch of guys who can fill that role on (at least) a limited basis. Obviously Bosman is great at it, but just to throw out some names, I think Ian, Jones, Ben, and Huber are all clearly skilled enough behind the mic to do it as well.
I'm just spitballing here though, I know the allies are busy enough without me giving them random show ideas
E: autocorrect!!!!
I can already see the April fools Sophie episode, and it's a classicPetition to add a new tier for Sophie to get her own show.
