Epic Store Free Games

I really have got to stop with this free game nonsense.

..I have over 270 games now that I have never played and honestly, never will.
JFC, I just looked. I have 397 items in my Epic account. I've just been collecting the weekly free game the last few years. Just like you I will never play 99% of these.

Whoops is Dark and Darker an actual good game? I saw it the other day and got annoyed that I couldn't claim the thing without digging up the base game and just skipped it.
I played it for a bit and liked it. It's a sluggish style of play though. But I'm an old geezer at this point and I don't like playing online competitive games. There comes a point where it's more effort to play than I want to expend. I would play it again if it wasn't multiplayer. It's an extraction looter.

A repeat on Christmas day is a bit of a bummer but maybe that makes the most sense as this is probably a day a lot of people will not bother to check storefronts. The Dredge is a pretty great get.

Today's EGS free game:

Ghostrunner 2

I already have it through PS+, but haven't played it on there tbh.

this version comes in really handy, as I feel like Ghostrunner is a perfect handheld title.
so I installed it on my Deck and played through the first level.

runs pretty well with FSR Quality mode on low settings (textures to medium)
sadly it's an unreal engine game... so... we all know what that means... it does precompile shaders, but it still has I/O and shader stutters just like the first game 😑

I paid for many, many years as well (since 2010). The most funny thing is that I don't care about online (outside of souls games) so it was about "free" games and cloud saves.
This is me too. I dropped ps+ earlier in the year to move to pc. It's really just a little different. I'm happy having made the change.

Same here. It's supposed to be a great game.

it's really good. the second one is better of course, but they are both good.

it has a surprisingly high skill gap and is really hard to master however.
you'd think a Hotwheels game is dumbed down for kids, but nope...

it tells me i'm blocked

is this the same issue?
Yeah something is going on. I got the same thing but then I noticed that in task manager epicweb helper or something was still running and using like 10-15% cpu usage even though I end task epic games.
