The problem with this question and the others abotu why can't "X" be black/asian/whatever, is that people assume there isn't dozens if not triple digits worth of interesting characters that are that minority or whatever. We can't do such and such character because they are "X", but we can sneak them in on the coat tails of this other character.
It's really insutling.
Hey, if you feel that there are fantastic female powerhouses in the Marvel universe, by all means, tell me about these people. Admittedly, I ignored Power Princess and Thundra because they have
terrible names. But I did bring up people like
Xenith.
So I don't feel I'm being insulting. I came in with two criteria:
1) Name/concept recognition and simplicity (because we're talking about mainstream audiences here; this is another reason why characters like Spider-Woman wouldn't work)
2) Power (they should be able to go toe-to-toe with Thor/Iron Man/The Hulk; this is why characters like Sharon Carter wouldn't count)
And I dug pretty deep. Absolutely, I'd love to have a movie with M, but she's a mutant. Photon's powers are absurd, and besides, I'd rather see her starring in an Agents of HATE cartoon. The Black Panther origins are screwed up, and besides, a lot of guys in Hollywood
want that role; if I was in control of Marvel, I wouldn't want to give up one of, like, three viable black male superheroes, not if I could take one of dozens of generic white males and do something interesting there instead.
After Guardians of the Galaxy sets up the cosmic stuff, they should make a Moondragon+Phyla-Vell as a couple wrecking stuff through space movie. I think they'd have high enough power levels to hang with the Avenger boys.
Phyla-Vell would be fun. Moondragon annoys me for some reason.
I think Marvel owns the rights to Spider-Woman. She's not related to Peter Parker at all.
Maybe they do. I thought all the Spider-stuff was with Sony.
I just thought Starbuck reminded me a lot of Carol anyway. Who do you think? I always see Yvonne Strahovski thrown around.
I actually think Clare Danes would be good as an actress, but physically, she's a bit waifish to be playing this part:
Well, Biel buffed up. I'm fairly certain any actress sufficiently motivated could do it.
Oddly, though? I'd actually want to go with someone older, like Lena Headey.
Hating on bp has become more common. Interesting. And the birdy bodyswap has been done as well. Valkyrie and that chick who's name I can't remember.
I've always hated him. I mean, one moment, he's king by rite of combat living in a village with huts, one moment, it's like "oh yeah, Wakanda is the most technologically advanced civilization on the planet, blah blah blah." They run this
weird racial stereotype line. It's not "African-influenced sci-fi" it's "somehow these savages have amazing technological powers!" Plus, I mean, he's a bit 'too perfect,' as a kung-fu ninja king superhero. Where's the
meat of the character? What does he want?
He's like Wonder Woman in that sense. His world just... does not work. At all. He needs a massive revamp.
Valkyrie's done the body swap? When? ._.
