Show Start
- Show opens with Scott Steiner in the ring. He's ranting about Booker T. Steiner calls out Booker T, claiming Booker has been ducking and diving him ever since he proclaimed himself a fighting champion. (B)
- Booker T appears at the entrance ramp and replies to Steiner. Booker says he hasn't been ducking and diving. He'll fight anyone who deserves a title shot. Simply put, Sucka, you don't deserve it! Booker says that Steiner has tried to bully his way to a title shot, and he's not going to accept it. If anyone deserves a title shot it's Lex Luger. Booker T says he'll fight whoever wins a #1 Contender's Match next week on WCW Saturday Night between Scott Steiner and Lex Luger at Bash at the Beach. (B-)
- The show returns from a break. Shannon Moore is in the ring. He blames Jamie Knoble for costing him the Cruiserweight Title last week in the 4-Way Match. Noble answers that by making his way down to the ring for a match. (E+)
Match: Shannon Moore v Jamie Knoble
In a bout that had solid in-ring action but non-existent crowd heat, Shannon Moore defeated Jamie Knoble in 7:43 by pinfall with a Mooregasm. (D)
- Norman Smiley makes his way to the ring. Apparently over the last few weeks he's been asking around the lockerroom if anyone would be interested in forming a tag team. Finally tonight he's ready to announce his new tag team partner... ALEX WRIGHT! Alex Wright joins him. Smiley announces that they'll be now known as Team Amazement. Wright protests, clearly he had a different name in mind, but Smiley ignores him. (E+)
- Team Amazement are ready to show the world how Amazing they are... with their incredible dance moves! Norman Smiley and Alex Wright start to dance really badly in the ring. The Big Wiggle and German Techo moves for everyone! (D-)
- But wait... Natural Born Thrillers... they hate dancing! They storm the ring and throw Team Amazement out. It looks like things are going to get totally out of hand when KroniK soon invade the ring too, trying to get their hands on the Natural Born Thrillers! They want another title shot, or perhaps they enjoy German Techno Big Wiggles. (D+)
- The show returns from the adverts. Buff Bagwell is in the ring looking especially oily and cocky tonight. He says he's ready to show Billy Kidman, who's sitting at the commentary table, he's THE STUFF and should have the US Title. (D)
Match: Johnny Swinger vs Buff Bagwell
In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, Johnny Swinger defeated Buff Bagwell in 9:35 by pinfall after stopping to taunt and pose in front of Billy Kidman. (D+)
- Eric Bischoff makes his way to the ring. He wants to apologise to Sting. He's seen Sting in the rafters watching the last few weeks. Bischoff says he understands why Sting might be reluctant to return to WCW after all the problems Bischoff caused him over the last 5 years. He leaves an open invitation to Sting to return to WCW, to come rejoin the WCW family. Bischoff promises that things won't be the same this time around. (C+)
MAIN EVENT - WCW Tag Title Match: Fit Finlay & Hugh Morrus v Natural Born Thrillers (c)
In a match that had some good action but not much in the way of heat, Natural Born Thrillers defeated Fit Finlay and Hugh Morrus in 13:11 when Sean O'Haire defeated Fit Finlay by pinfall with a Double Superkick. Natural Born Thrillers make defence number 2 of their WCW World Tag Team titles. (D+)
Show End
Final Rating: C-
TV Rating: 0.26 (down 0.1 from last week)
Tried to get Shark Boy and Yun Yang to work the crowd in the dark match and it actually bought the crowd's mood down! 8 minutes was too much for the jobbers! D'oh.
Bryan Clark and Brian Adams both officially turned during this show from 'Heels' to 'Faces', after they ran in to save Team Amazement.
Johnny Swinger and Buff Bagwell had good chemistry in their match. Seemingly Johnny Swinger can have a good match with anyone!
It has become increasingly clear I'm having a hard time building 'heat' during the shows. I think this is in part due to the crowd wanting to see more bigger names, rather then solid in-ring action. Could be time to heavily promote the new Modern era of WCW.
The general feeling is that WCW don't have enough interesting storylines at the moment.
Will Sting return to WCW after Bischoff's open invitation?
Can Eric Bischoff be trusted? He promises he's a changed man!
Who will next week on WCW Saturday Night to face Booker T at Bash at the Beach; Scott Steiner or Lex Luger?
