going to be spending some quality time with a soldering iron
Let me know how it works out I am also looking to purchase this pad.
going to be spending some quality time with a soldering iron
this. I have a stand up cab I built with two player controls. I want to have PS4 compatibility for Xrd and more important blazblue CPExtend. I'm currently using godlike controls PCBs for PS3 compatibility. I was hoping to see some easy custom PCBs with quick disconnects like cthulhu or PS360+ for PS4, but I saw the FC4s on sale and I got impatient. Order some solder and a new iron, should be good times. It's presumably being purchased to have its PCB harvested for a padhack
Nice interview!
Since we were talking about motivation to learn fighting games in the previous topic and how it's difficult because not based on the common "fun" denominator, there's something I'm eager to talk about: the Street Fighter 5 communication. So what do you think about the whole "Rise" message about self-improvement and all? Do you think that could really work to get new players into fighting games?
My idea about how to communication around SF5 was quite the opposite to be honest. If the goal is to build a community and sell games, I think going around the whole "self improvement" thing is actually very risky. The way I saw it was to build the hype around all kind of people all having a history with a street fighter game and put SF5 in a position where it permits you to continue to build stories for you and your friends. My idea was that SF5 should be, with Pizza and bear, the third ingredient to a good evening with friends, a way to communicate. This way you create micro-local communities and the more people play the game, the more chances there is that one of the players might engage more seriously into it.
But the "Rise" thing takes the problem by the other end. It gives a messages not of fun be courage and self sacrifice to get better at something. That's a great message for sure, but it implies that instead of going from bottom to top of the pyramid, the top by his efforts may inspire the bottom. That's bold and somehow logical as fighting game players are the most humans and sociable you can find and they can inspire sympathy too.
But I don't know, I feel it's risky. The game going on a road were there are different systems for each characters, a lot of mechanics, and an entry price (probably no free version) makes me think about Starcraft 2, a game with complex mechanics, godlike players, but the entry level is so high. As opposed to a LoL that uses the "Rise" thing too but with a simpler and accessible game with a free model for everybody to try it.
So what are your thoughts about this?
Some more T7 footage, this time demonstrating the 1P/2P rendering camera thing
And there's also this:
Weird...
And again, thanks to Flying Wonkey, always on point with the Tekken stuff <3
BTW dont know if these have been posted already. Apparently there was a nico stream for T7 and Wonkey linked a lot of segments from the stream on his twitter.
All are low res but direct feed
1 minute clip showing off how dramatic the slow-mo is! Shows that the slowmo can occur even if the two moves whiff lol : http://i.pomf.se/qjahgy.mp4
One round of three matches showing off the new characters : http://i.pomf.se/aqekub.mp4
A full match showing off the camera mirror tech ( Both players playing on same side) Not direct feed obviously to show off that it works lol : http://i.pomf.se/wkrwia.mp4
KOFXIII is the Steam daily sale today at 66% off.
Don't think I've ever seen it at 75%.
Nobody should play Leo he's awful*
Actually he's really fun and easy to use, but if people start learning his bullshit my win rate is going to plummet
Everyone must grab it
it was on humble bundle once. i got it for $4.90 along with other games.KOFXIII is the Steam daily sale today at 66% off.

The people chiming in about playing or just getting Xrd should also post what character they're playing/maining. I'm especially curious to hear the character choices of post-MahvelGAF members just jumping in.
I got mine for the equivalent of that (~4160 yen) at Amiami back when the FC4 released in June 2014. I think that's the standard pricing.Oh, Fighting Commander Pro 4 is only 39 bucks? Is that at Play-Asia?
yea, its why snagged 2. i was curiously checking out the tech section on shoryuken and saw someone mention the sale. Figured it was about time to tear into them.Oh, Fighting Commander Pro 4 is only 39 bucks? Is that at Play-Asia?

I cant wait for my cabinet to be PS4 compatible. I'll actually start on Xrd

Amiami is nice, I do use them for figures, their shipping is really slow though and I was getting impatient.Amiami still has them for that much. which is about 35. I might pick 2 up from them then.
Ah, I see. Well, Amiami is cheaper and I've been using them more so I'll go with them for these, lol. PS3/PS4 compatible is really nice.

well, its what I'm doing with it. Gummo on shoryuken tore one apart and it looks like a pretty easy padhack. I'm not very good at soldering and I'm pretty sure I can pull this one off. They use the Post Office for shipping. So the speed is understandable, lol. Their prices make up for it though. EMS shipping is fast enough and it ends up being the same as Play-Asia without shipping due to P-A's mark-up. Anyway, I don't need it right away so I ordered 2 from Amiami with slow shopping.
Even if I don't end up liking it, I can probably ask someone to convert it into a PS3/PS4 stick, no?

Yes. FC4 is a great padhack since the solder points are bigger than on a DS4. Folks were singing its praises in the arcade stick thread a while back.Even if I don't end up liking it, I can probably ask someone to convert it into a PS3/PS4 stick, no?
If you don't want to challenge them by reaction, you can Blitze Shield the attack, the timing is very easy(watch out for teleport YRC though), that or just jump+faultless defense to block all three. Meterless, just run and jump forward to avoid them.Is there a visual tell for Faust's teleport thing or is it purely relying on my old man reactions?
i'd just like to remind everyone that i beat clockwork at evo last year
sure it was a friendly set
and he beat me 4 times prior
and the sun was in my eyes in the ballroom (shut up)
but i did it
the point is get your asses to tournaments and stop being enzo

Folks, any recommendations on a good 360 pad? I've been using d-pads for years and would like to avoid learning stick if possible. I already have the silver 360 controller with the twist d-pad, its solid. But I want better. Please help!
lol, come on man. you dont hear me shouting that i beat a bunch of pro players too in marvel. get more than one win than come talking!its all friendly smack talk, i swear

The FC4 will work on American consoles w/ no issue right?
heh...size and carrying around isn't my issue... I just need two PCBs and hope I can do good enough work on themExcellent. I've been meaning to make my own stick so a spare FC4 to gut might be helpful for that. I really want to make it super compact stick as I hate carrying the larger ones around.
