Korea just recently finished an international Tekken Tag 2 tournament.

Before that though, Hong Kong's representative (Billy), Thailand's representative (Hope), and America's representative (NYC Fab), took turns playing against Knee, one of Korea's best.

To be fair, Fab only played Knee twice
and it wasn't pretty...

Hopefully that tournament gets uploaded soon.

That global tournament was awesome. I've played a lot of international players in tournament before. They definitely play on another level. I love the challenge.

I've played casual matches with Knee, Nin, and a ton of Japanese players that play out of Sugamo (NoRespect's arcade). The first day TTT2 came out, I went to a lesser known arcade in Tokyo in hopes to get some practice... lol, I wasn't the only one thinking that and I ran into Nobi and Yuu from NoRespect and got mopped 30 straight by those guys.

I USED to be good at TEKKEN. I wish I had more time/more people to play with :( But I'm going to try again with TTT2. I'd say the highlight of my TEKKEN career was beating Team Korea (200yen, Rain, Tongbal) at NorCal Strong Style in the team tournament. Also beating Holeman in team tournament play.

Throughout T6, Eddy has been my main. I dropped him in TTT2... I mean I still use him but I switched my main team to King/Jaycee. Let the good times roll ;)

This is usually the rough part for US/EU playing catch up with the rest of the world. Hopefully we'll see some good results once everyone starts having more access to the games.

Sorry for the uncharacteristic long post. I really like TEKKEN, lol.

I know that you know about
TxSF.
Spill it.

Haven't really followed Tekken these last few years but who the best in Korea and Japan now a days?

Is it still NiN, Knee, Holeman for Korea? Oh and what happened to Qudans? Or MDJ? I know MDJ had the whole army thing but isn't he well done with it by now?

How about Japan? Yuu?

Get back into it. Also play against Tekken GAF once it a while at least!

Korea: Knee/Hao/OnlyPractice/Saint are highest ranked fighters right now I believe. Nin keeps his plays a mystery so no one outside Korea knows how good he really is. I suppose he's saving it for international competitions. Holeman appears to be playing the game significantly less now. Qudans returned but has a huge amount of catching up to do since he was suffering from Carpel tunnel syndrome from 2009-2012. MDJ I believe still plays but is living far away from the usual competition at Green. Not sure how good he is, but he last appeared years ago in Tekken Crash Season 5 or 6 not making it too far.

Japan: I think it's Nobi who's considered the best followed by Pekoso.

Knee just won the global tournament over Holeman. Overall though, there are so many talented players. I'd have to say JDCR and Knee are the best. Not sure about Nin, he doesn't get as much playtime as he's busy with his job, of course.

MDJ lives in Busan, as mentioned before, which is far from the rest. However he does have good competition there. I wonder if they still stream from there?

A lot of guys don't play anymore after coming back from the military even. They just can't because real life comes into play.

Get back into it. Also play against Tekken GAF once it a while at least!

I would love to play more GAF people! Alas, I can't stand online play. If the connection is solid though, that will change things.

In Japan, Nobi, Yuu, Pecos are among the best. I also consider Buriburi, Mainstreet Ryu to be some of the strongest as well. Niidaime Mainstreet Ryu is also a beast. Not sure if Matador still plays. He was one of my favorite players to watch.

There are a lot of Japanese players that stay under the radar such as Keio (legendary Steve player), Odazaki (Mishimas), Mishimasuki, etc.

Hes pretty much caught up imo. Dude beat Only Practice in a deathmatch before the upgrade to Unlimited and thats when he was still picking up stuff about his characters. Theres also a vid of him destroying Gaksini to get a promotion here

Also I think he got promoted playing against Fran who plays teh best Zafina/Anna team in Korea.

For those wanting to see the global tournament finals: (Holeman vs Knee)

And yeah I'm going to have to go with Knee and JDCR being on top after the recent nico live stream at Sugamo and with the e-stars championships. But If I was going for 'best players to watch' then that will always go to Hankuma for his Kuma and Panda team and Light for just those flashy combos.

Gotta love dat Mishima dominance.

Woohoo Tekken talk! I haven't really invested the proper amount of time to be good at it since the first tekken tag, when arcades where still in my area and I had time to play. When I play now I still rely on some old tricks and patterns that I used to use, so I need to get better.

Does anyone have any word on Michelle's move set an general style of play? Does she still play the old linear elbow style or a totally new one?

And I'm surprised I don't hear more about carpal tunnel problems, especially for tekken players

Looks like the all Viper team won.

Justin or Ricky winning a majority of the SF tourney games.

Pretty wild weekend. All is well.
