It’s just a shame you’ve got to do it. I have found most Xbox threads are getting hard to read as a result, what with them being full of the usual shit posters on ignore. I can go pages without being able to read stuff! 😂

Now and again I’ll peek to see what’s being said, which simply ends up validating why they are on ignore in the first place!
You can't control what people say or don't say and therefore we should not be encouraging anyone to shutdown conversations simply because people don't like what is being said. That has happened too, and in an Xbox thread, where it became an echo chamber with people repeating themselves and the people posting in it started to speak of what people who might be critical would say.

And, given some of ya'll are so sensitive over the simplest of things, you'd call anyone saying something different to be a "shit poster". If this board started controlling conversations the way you'd want them to, you'd have empty threads and perhaps it is your bias speaking here, but people shitpost in PlayStation and Nintendo threads as well; some of the individuals complaining here are the ones to do it too.

I don’t want to derail, I’m well aware it’s a two way street. That’s why I am now totally comfortable with using ignore against people who come in with the intention of ruining the threads I am generally interested in reading.

Just a shame it’s needed, you know? No big deal.

Now back to the sexy Indy talk please!

Striking that this is nearly all cut scenes and little gameplay. I still think FPS was a weird choice for this and they are clearly going to have to overdo the cut scenes to get around it. I fear there will be a pulsating cut scene and then it comes back to you staring at your hands trying to whip a switch.

it’s an edited trailer, and lots of cutscenes to set the tone because it IS based on a well known franchise.

There’s no logic behind tying the amount of cutscenes to the camera perspective.

Ah ok, gotcha. Yeah, it would be nice it wasn't necessary so I can see your point of view. Personally, I don't block anyone... and I guess that is a personal thing for me haha. Anyway, all good. Back to the topic.

Truth. Anytime criticism is directed at Microsoft, they will be here (in true hypocritical fashion) crying about it.

What's ironic is that by blocking/ignoring people and trying to shut them down from commenting, they're basically doing what people o er at the purple forum do.

They just do it themselves on a personal level, rather than having to rely on the mods to do it for them.

The irony is that much of 2023 was spent sneering at the purple forum for ‘canceling’ games based on reasons other than the quality of the final material.

Now the shoe’s on the other foot 😀

Good things to hear about the depth of the puzzles in the game. But of course, reviews will tell the full story.
Unfortunately, reviews won't matter. Everyone has their responses saved in a folder on their desktop.

Great score review file = "reviews were paid for", "reviewers are shills", etc.
Terrible score (aka, anything under 9.5/10) review file = "ahh, just as I thought...", "I knew it!", "another L for Xbox", etc.

It's like clockwork.

You forgot this classic:

Terrible score but overly invested guy:
"Reviews don't even matter bro lol buying anyway. Goty material for me."

I'm pretty excited for it. I guess some of y'all never played the Riddick games. 1st person is in their DNA and Indy will likely be better for it! Comparisons to Uncharted were inevitable, because that's the nature of the beast, and while a few of the animations could use some touch-up, this looks like a solid piece!

I hope you're right. I've never played any of them but I am a huge Indiana Jones fan and also a huge Children of the Corn fan. Nice avatar, sir!

Yeah, I played Riddick on PC back in the days...and it blew me away.
Hopefully they recapture some of that magic here, though i seriously doubt they'll have Indy using a Shiv...and the character isn't as badass as Riddick anyway.

Yeah, much of what I'm seeing looks like silly, Indy fun with excellent graphics and, most likely, a robust story! I definitely expect them to recapture that magic!

Of course it's console wars. Just compare the reception of this game to Robocop. Another movie IP in 1st person. But yeah, go ahead and try and convince someone else here that people posting in this thread are evaluating the title fairly and without bias. I won't be listening.
Robocop is a first person shooter. There was even a first person segment of the movie in Robocop like Terminator. Anybody complaining about Indiana jones being a first person (brawler?) and switching between first and third person when swinging about isn't doing it because of "console wars", especially for a completely multiplatform title like this. Are complaints even widespread? It's more the fact that it is far more unconventional to have melee combat in first person and have the game switch between views for traversal, that's all it stems from

When asked how business is going, you'd think they would list a high profile AAA Indiana Jones game, releasing maybe a year or so before Wolverine, too, right?
Indiana Jones was announced after Wolverine. Suicide Squad released before both and she didn't mention working on that either in the interview. You try and and find an interview where she mentions Dota Underground with Valve too. Does it mean SBI wasn't involved in that game? People don't usually seek interviews with consultancy firms and now companies are less likely to make any association public since the shitstorm. You still haven't found a plausible reason why somebody would edit that in before any drama really happened either and SBI was barely known.

I don't want you to concede to anything really. I just found it funny that you were making "lol, SBI" jokes with Naughty Dog, a dev who has had no association with SBI at all (I can only assume because of Druckmann being a regular old liberal) but now you're out here fighting tooth and nail to cut any association with SBI with this narrative designer instead:

GESrmEJXgAAnNs-.jpg:large

Not only are you no longer playing along with the "lol woke" association to SBI but denying IMBD data that has clearly been edited after the shitstorm with SBI to hide involvement.

Curating your personal feed away from annoyance and discussions that lead nowhere for you is not the same as mods attempting to shape and completely control the discourse in a forum.

I don't even recall making any SBI specific jokes at ND, or that those two have any association.

If the implication is that I make SBI jokes at Sony first party stuff only, then you can just look up any of the Concord discussions in the last bunch of months to see if I did or did not, since that is a much more recent and active universal whipping-boy example

Again, I wouldn't put too much stock into user editable things. SBI didn't have this on their official website under one of their projects before all the shit went down with them and they had to remove the client list from their website in Sep/Oct.

Let me be clear, I won't be surprised if this game has some kind of consultants working on it, there's like a dozen or more of these companies and almost all major studios work with them, even Japanese studios like Square Enix. That is not the point. The point is that SBI specifically has not been known to work on this game and regardless of whether they did or not, a consulting company is not a part of the game's production so their addition as one of the production studios under IMDB credits was wrong in the first place.

I hope that's clarified it for you sufficiently enough, I'd rather not talk about this point again and let's move onto the game itself.

The result is practically the same.
No it's not.

Me choosing to not have a lemon scent in my home is not the same thing as a guy coming in and trying to push potpurri on me or else.

One is an action I'm choosing to do, and can undo at any moment, the other is something externally imposed.

Yes and in both cases your home doesn't have a lemon scent.

Anyway, if you're not one of those people, it doesn't concern you.

Edit:
Your analogy doesn't even make sense in this case.

Hope this game is good..... But I am really just waiting for it to be over so we can finally get Wolfenstein 3.
Yes please be a good game.
So I was just wondering the other day, suppose it hits the spot... now in that case if we have a pretty big franchise being brought back, and it's fairly successful, wouldn't they wanna stick with it for a sequel?
I bet Microsoft would like the idea

Big fan of the IP many years ago. And I do hope it turns out good. But the IP has lost its shine IMO, and the modern audiences photo / meme / whatever give me reservations and low expectations.

I'm not saying you make jokes only at PS first party stuff or that you had to have commented on concord. I'm saying you made silly SBI associations that aren't there at the expense of perpetuating this "lol woke" association to ND to back up Manabyte's derailing of this thread

But you are trying everything to cut any SBI/woke association to this particular game/studio for obvious reasons.
Again, I wouldn't put too much stock into user editable things. SBI didn't have this on their official website under one of their projects before all the shit went down with them and they had to remove the client list from their website in Sep/Oct.
They didn't have Wolverine on their site either, didn't have Dota Underlord. They don't need to. We're discussing this in circles really. Let's just agree to disagree because there is absolutely no reason for anybody to edit that in when SBI was relatively unknown.
The point is that SBI specifically has not been known to work on this game and regardless of whether they did or not, a consulting company is not a part of the game's production so their addition as one of the production studios under IMDB credits was wrong in the first place..
This is the point we disagree on though. They can be considered a part of a games production. They even have their own. I just dont see why you argue so much about this with specific titles yet throw it around so nonchalantly for another specific studio. You did the same for AW2 too where you were arguing that it wasn't about representation or woke when Kim Belair is directly credited in it and SBIs involvement well known (all while previously making quips about SBI being the reason why the next ND game won't have a male white character even though they have absolutely no association to them).

Can someone explain why this game is getting so much hate? It looks incredible. Indiana Jones in an old school type adventure game developed by an excellent developer? Hopefully that translates to a GOTY contender and the next big game franchise.

Ford barely gets out of bed for anything these days, it certainly wouldn't have been in the budget but Troy is doing a great impersonation.

He has a lot of projects on his lap and I doubt he would be interested in doing this, especially given the limited budget. Harrison also doesn’t generally film far from his home in Jackson, Wyoming but I’m sure there was a sound studio they could have rented out to do the voiceover work one weekend.

First person camera, not enough action. People wanted another third person shooter with scripted action and some light puzzles like TR/UC. Now there is speculation Sweet Baby Inc is involved with the game, they have a documented history of negatively affecting games.

Even besides all the woke shit that will undoubtedly be in this game it boggles my mind there are folks unironically excited about this in this thread. This is run of the mill AAA slop that will do nothing new in terms of gameplay. You have played this game a million times. Just got back to the old Uncharted titles for a better experience.
