It won't be what people want considering the amount of bullshit over the years about how this will have PS5 level graphics, all 3rd party games and the ability to upscale previous Nintendo titles just by looking at them.

That's a bold prediction, but I can't see it. Scarlet and Violet needed an extra year of development. There is a good game there, and sometimes it looks great (Close up of character models are probably some of the best I've seen on the Switch), but there are far too many bugs and the open world is pretty barren. A Deluxe edition could fix all that, but I can't help but feel this would be another slap in the face to fans of the series because the game should have been great on release.

"That £50 you spent on Scarlet and Violet? Look, we're sorry it was a fuck up, but pay us another £60 and you can have a version without bugs and glitches etc"

I can't see that happening. Not to mention GF have their hands full with the next Legends game and Gen 10 in 2026.

Can't see this happening. Why would Sony start porting their big games to the Switch 2? PS5 is selling well. They have no reason to do so.
Cause they need $$$….PS5 is not selling as well as you think it is. It will not have the long tail PS4/PS2/PS1 had.

I expect older Sony titles to come to PC/Switch 2 and maybe Apple. Rachet and Clank, Jak and Daxter, older more obscure stuff too. Like Twisted Metal or Motorstorm, etc. I also expect Horizon, and hope fro Uncharted trilogy.

Keep telling you guys, imo. Economy is about to get unbelievably rough for most of us on a global scale. I actually question if most families will be able to have one console, let alone multiple. If it is 2008 era bad, which could see unemployment over 10%. Though, around the world, some places “could” be far worse.

Also remember games including Nintendo are going to cost more due to increased Dev cost. $70 games? $80 or $100? Any guess on what GTA VI is going to charge? It will be a one off for now, but it will grow to more titles. Madden and COD seem likely to follow suit.

So, i suspect even Nintendo will put “some” games on all platforms this gen. Due to the dev cost and needing to recoup the investment and make a profit. Bayonetta trilogy is a good example of a Nintendo published title, i expect on everything soon.

I might buy my third Series X on Switch 2 launch day. Switch 2 will interest me as soon as a new (full-priced, high-quality) Sin & Punishment is released.
PC install is 150GB, bit much for a cart innit?
It could be a downloadable of course.
Or a cloud version.

The options in the poll do not provide a true “not sure” option. “Unsure, but it'll be better than the Switch“ is not what I am. I’m just unsure. But hopeful!

Switch 2 might have a power of banana and ill still buy it. I do not buy nintendo consoles for their power graphics. i buy it for their unique games ( not the biggest nintendo fan and i dont like most of their games even the new zelda i am not a fan off )

but a new mario 3d, mario kart, alone are worth it for me to buy a nintendo system.,

for everything graphics related i have my PC for that.

If anything, I am thinking the opposite. I wouldn't be surprised if the PS5 is in production longer than even PS2.

Be interesting to see if "PS5" games are doable on Switch 2, or if developers start to target Switch 2 instead of PS5/XSX.

As I said in the other thread I think the C button is a "cursor" button that enables a gyro mouse cursor and lets you mimic the mouse function, so the feature can still be used when the joycons are attached. This would explain why the C button is still present on the pro controller.

I voted I don't care, because I'm gonna buy a S2 regardless of lineup. I know I'm gonna enjoy playing a bunch of games with my girls down the road on the system.

At one point in 2022-2023 Nintendo was taking bids and testing custom local and network video delivery solutions/software. It’ll be interesting to see if and how that comes into the final software.

In case we need receipts - I sent @HeisenbergFX4 this message last year:
$400 launch price, June release, paid upgrade for some titles

1P focus will take the show, but there will be a catch up of recent cross gen titles that missed Switch 1.

I think the Switch 1 connectivity is unlikely. However I think it may be possible that the Switch 2 can remotely connect to the dock (or cast to a TV) and enter a sort of Wii-u mode with the main screen on TV and the Switch 2 acting as a secondary screen in your hands. This will allow them to remake and sell old Wii-u games, but otherwise will largely go unused except in a few first party games.

Cause they need $$$….PS5 is not selling as well as you think it is. It will not have the long tail PS4/PS2/PS1 had.

It's sold what? 75 million consoles in less than 5 years? That's damn good. I expect it to have a long tail as well and we'll see a lot of cross gen when PS6 comes out.

Sony releasing older games on PC is a way to make a quick buck, but release games on Switch 2? That would be mad and would only make sense if the PS5 was struggling in the sales department, which it isn't.

Keep telling you guys, imo. Economy is about to get unbelievably rough for most of us on a global scale. I actually question if most families will be able to have one console, let alone multiple. If it is 2008 era bad, which could see unemployment over 10%. Though, around the world, some places “could” be far worse.

The world economy is in a bad state. That we can agree on.

Also remember games including Nintendo are going to cost more due to increased Dev cost. $70 games? $80 or $100? Any guess on what GTA VI is going to charge? It will be a one off for now, but it will grow to more titles. Madden and COD seem likely to follow suit.

Publishers will need to find a way to cut costs, not increase the cost of games. We can't have games that are 80, or 100 a pop. As you said, people have less money today than they did a few years ago. Increase the price too high and people just won't buy the games. It's that simple. I can't wait to play GTA VI, but I'm not paying £100 for it. Fuck that.

So, i suspect even Nintendo will put “some” games on all platforms this gen. Due to the dev cost and needing to recoup the investment and make a profit. Bayonetta trilogy is a good example of a Nintendo published title, i expect on everything soon.

Nintendo won't be doing this any time soon. Some of their games are seeing an increased cost. I saw somewhere that the last Zelda game cost 185 million to make, but it sold over 21 million copies, easily making the back the development cost and being a financial success for Nintendo. That's the difference with Nintendo. A vast majority of their games sell very well and make a vast profit for the company.

So why not release games on PC, Xbox, PS and everything else? Surly they would make more money? You would think so, but Nintendo prioritises long-term profitability over short-term gains. Nintendo makes a profit on their hardware. If their games are on other platforms, why buy a Nintendo console? The selling pitch for a Nintendo console is that it's the only place you can play Nintendo games. Over 150 million Swich consoles sold and huge hype for the Switch 2. Nintendo are financially sound and will be for many years to come. They don't need to think about porting their games.

Anyway, back to the Pokemon Gen 9 Deluxe editions on the Switch 2. You think that's going to happen? Is it a rumour? If that's real then Gamefreak have lost the plot.
Dead On Arrival.

Overpriced, no games, small storage.

It may do WiiU numbers with a deep discount, maybe Pokemon will save it.

Otherwise its DEAD. Nintendo will go third party in 4 years time. Mark my words.

My word. That is the shittiest take I've seen on here for a long time.

The unsure option should have just stayed unsure, not the claim that it'll be better. I don't think it'll beat Switch 1, but no, it won't be "piss poor" I think.

What are you basing this on?

https://www.neogaf.com/threads/ps5-...es-x-and-s-lags-well-behind-xbox-one.1681905/

According to the most recent data from Circana, after each platform’s first 52 months in the market, PS5 unit sales exceed PS4’s sales pace by 7%, while Xbox Series X and S combined now trails Xbox One by 19%.

I hope it’ll be as good as the Switch. The Switch lineup wasn’t huge, but we got BotW which was insane. It’s gonna be tough to beat that.

But I’ve got hope for Metroid Prime 4.

Pre orders will probably go live on the day.

Make sure you're ready.
Not sure where to preorder tbh.
Amazon?
Certainly not GAME.
Probably my local Smyths will be a safe bet.
I'd imagine going to places people wouldn't normally associate gaming with would be good, more chance of securing stuff.

We will have to wait and see. Sony already put MLb Show on everything (because they have too per MLB contract), Freedom wars Switch, Lego horizon, Patapon switch, and hot shot golf switch.

I’m not saying new AAA titles from ps5 are coming. I said OLDER titles. Ps2,ps3, PS4, PSP, and Vita era. Could medival come? Certainly. Knack? Sure. Sly copper collection? Sure. Jak and Daxter? Sure

I never said big PS5 titles. Though I do think horizon ps4 does come.

As for the pricing of the games. You are going to get your first taste on Tuesday. Nintendo games for SWITCH 2 are going to start at $69.99. Minimum.

Whoever pulled Circana, Good pull. It is ahead of ps4. Now go deeper, how is software selling year over year adjusted? You will see it isn’t as well.

One could argue people only play Minecraft, Fortnite and a few others. Again, this place is an echo chamber. Remember that. Like minded individuals. We may not be the mainstream consumer.

It feels to me, that starting Tuesday, there will be one piece of information that people will not like. Whatever that is. I think wait until Tuesday. Maybe it is price of software, maybe it is something DRM related. We will find out in a few days.

- Price will be in the $400-450 range
- Release date is in June
- 256GB of storage
- LCD screen
- There’s a fan/cooling in the dock
- The JoyCons will be able to attach and function no matter the orientation of the system
- The Switch 2 OS will have a lot more personality than Switch (1)
- Hal-effect joysticks
- The ”C” on the C-button is not related to its function
- There’ll be more uses for the mouse-laser functionality than just ”Mouse mode”/using a cursor

- Mario Kart 9 will be available at launch
- A Mario Kart 9 bundle will be available at launch
- Metroid Prime 4 Switch 2 Edition is real and uses the new mouse functionality heavily
- BotW Switch 2 Edition will be announced
- Pokemon Legends Z-A will get a Switch 2 Edition
- New IP/mini game collection with focus on the mouse functionality announced
- New 3D Mario announced
- New 3D Donkey Kong game announced
- Luigi’s Mansion 4 announced
- New IP/ next game from Monolith Soft announced
- Announcement of a Kid Icarus Uprising Remake/Remaster with heavy use of the mouse controls

I’ll stay away from third party predictions outside of this:
- Professor Layton and the New World of Steam will get a Switch 2 Edition

Most big 3rd party games that aren’t already on Switch(1) will get ported.

I suck at predictions, but hopefully something sticks.
I’ll add this as well:
- Mario Kart 9 will not be a cross-gen release/will be Switch 2 exclusive

Oh, and this:
- Switch 2 Pro controller will be shown
- The new Pro controller will be able to split in half and use ”mouse mode” (I.e. the patents will become reality)

Honestly, I ain't buying one at launch, so I really don't care. But I want it to be good because that'll make for an interesting news cycle.

Minimum £70 for Switch 2 games? That would be a £20 increase from their current price.

Sorry, but I don't see this happening. They'll be more expensive than current switch games, but not by that much.

Also, reinking reinking pulled the Circana data above. Where are you getting your software figures from?

I'm going to try somewhere like HMV or Curry's before Amazon. Everyone will be trying Amazon first.
