Anybody else Nintendo should release their classics on the e-store?

Some people don't want to sign up to NSO to play their classics. I just want to buy the individual games and download them to my Switch.

Is it too much to ask to give people options?
As always with subscription their internal number probably show higher revenue per user when it comes to NSO than projected revenue with buying games individually.

Microsoft do it the right way. I can subscribe to Gamepass, or I can buy the game individually.

It's a shame that Nintendo doesn't offer the same level of choice.

I will never subscribe to NSO for old games. I like nothing about the idea.

I'd be happy to buy re-releases of old games if they actually did a good job with it and added some level of enhancement to make it better than just playing the original release.

So it's kinda moot to me, I guess. I won't get what I actually want from Ninty either way.

Facts, NSO is fine but it could be so much better
I honestly love Nintendo online. I don't understand why people don't like it.
Eight people can get Nintendo Switch Online for an entire year for $10 each or $80 total. That's what Xbox's bottom-of-the-barrel subscription costs for one singular month. You pay 12-24 times as much on Xbox, which is already more expensive to buy. It's absurd.

The games selection is great on NSO too. Mario 64, Ocarina of Time, Earthbound, Banjo Kazooie, Ecco the Dolphin, Super Mario World, Sonic 2, Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga, Majora's Mask, Castlevania Bloodlines, Golden Sun, Minish Cap, Goldeneye 007, Donkey Kong Country 1/2, Perfect Dark, Kirby 64, Alien Soldier, Wild Guns, Paper Mario, Jet Force Gemini, Wario Land 3, MegaMan 2-5, Starfox 64/SNES, Oracle of Seasons/Time, Link's Awakening, FZero/X, Pilotwings, Zelda 1/2, Metroid, Warioware. There's so many classics. I also love the weird non-game games I've never heard of. Oftentimes I have friends over and we just browse and play the weird little SNES games we'd never heard of for fun. It's honestly such a nice experience. All these games anytime, and on-the-go if I so please!

I hate to be a fanboy but I genuinely think I'm getting a fantastic deal. I can understand the online service being shitty, but we pay pennies for it, especially relative to other consoles. Maybe I just use my switch more than others, I dunno.

I think my biggest gripe is it would nice to be able to communicate with friends without using a phone app. Even messages would be great. Me and my buddies play splatoon together and we end up having to hop on discord on our phones instead of everything being seamless through the Nintendo Switch System like other consoles.

I get they are trying to "protect children" or whatever, but kids are gonna be kids anyway whether nintendo allows them to communicate or not. There are shitty people everywhere

The deal itself is a no brainer if you can get it cheap like you mentioned. If they ever take away family plans or charge more, then it becomes a REALLY tough unless they really improve emulation. If they ever get it on par with PC emulators, which they should honestly, then it becomes a no brainer again.

I heard the motion function only works if you're alone in bed and since I'm currently engaged and I am a man of passion, I'd have to either kill Mrs. Richie or pass. I'm contemplating my options.
LOL, Daddy Nintendo is most important.

Seriously congrats though. I never thought a man of your... "caliber" could be tied down.

Thank you my friend! I thought I wouldn't ever marry anyone and I was okay with that fact, I mean, it says in the bible one should "give to everyone who asks" and I've always considered my considerable girth and length and ergonomic curvature to be a gift from the heavens above, but life's funny in that I met someone who's even more of a weirdo than me and we decided to be the wild ones forever as Tom Petty intended.

And that is exactly why they don't do it.

That's fine. I still won't sign up to their online service.

I don't understand why Nintendo are being so stubborn. Microsoft and Sony both have classic games on their subscription services, but also allow people to purchase these games individually. They give customers a choice. I wish Nintendo would do the same.

I'm super stoked for Switch 2! Can't wait for Nintendo to announce this damn thing. They are really holding out 😅 Metroid Prime 4 is going to be a banger of launch game.

They want to do what's best for their customers and offer the best consumer experience possible?

You answered your own question...it's leverage for NSO.

They know they reached a wall with asking you to re-buy the same games on every platform since SNES, especially since they were planning to keep the same account system. Their best answer to keep making you pay for them over and over was a sub. Aside from the online play, old games is practically the only feature of NSO, so no they aren't giving that up.

No wall reached here. I'd gladly buy digital copies of Mario Bros 3 and OOT to play on my Switch.

Making others pay. They're not making me pay monthly for classic games. Furukawa can gargle on my unwashed nuts. I'll vote with my wallet. Just a shame that Nintendo aren't giving customers a choice.

I expect Switch 1 games to work on Switch 2. If VC randomly didn't work, people would start calling BS. People were already getting ornery at Nintendo back on Wii U for making a whole new account system that required repurchasing everything.

For many people, the old games are probably a bigger deal than the online play. If they could purchase those games, they would own them, for the rest of their life, in a handheld/console hybrid system and never have to do it again. Nintendo wants you to keep buying them over and over, so they they don't allow it. I'm not saying this is great for us, I'm just saying, that's why they don't give you a choice.
