Today and this whole weekend, I have needed an IV of caffeine, lol. I think I might be both being too goofy and serious.

The footage does look good, but it's easy to fake that. I'm super skeptical with this game, because delaying it for almost a year, then not having enough confidence to release a physical game, when the Switch is at its peak, in addition to just how tech pushing this game is, gives me worries.

I want to be wrong. I want Digital Foundry to call this an amazing port. Maybe that will very well be the case. I just hope we see hands-on previews and reviews soon, and can put the matter to rest.

If it's as good as it looks in this footage, it's a must-buy.

It was a touch soft in portable, backgrounds almost slightly unfocused at launch, but got better and better. I really, really liked it.

Other than the reasons I suggested, the new one pushes much harder. I forget the numbers, but across the board, it has multiplied in complexity, from number of enemies, to level size, to gore (bits and pieces of enemies come off, right down to the bone), to much higher detail in everything on-screen. It would likely be a challenge, even for a developer of Panic Button's reputation.

I don't know about TGAs. I don't know that they announce anything but with so many rumors and games that are in active development I have to wonder when they'll be able to release all of these games.

There are the confirmed titles: Mario 3D World, Detective Pikachu, Pokemon Snap, Bravely Default 2, Smash DLC and Shin Megami Tensei III + V. The games that are likely to show up: Zelda Collection, Mario Golf, Pokemon Remake, Goodfeel's game, and the Breath of the Wild Sequel. Then there are the wild cards; things we believe/know to be in dev: Bayonetta, Fire Emblem Remake, Kirby, 2D Metroid, 3D Mario, Arms 2 (?), Splatoon, Metroid Prime Trilogy, Monolith's next game etc.

I think the next two years could potentially be pretty packed.

Depending on how badly covid threw off development April-December 2020 could be bigger than 2017.

2020 definitely got thrown around but I wonder how many games targeting 21 and 22 did as well. For example while November 21 makes sense for the BOTW sequel it could easily now be a March 22 title.

I anticipate a good 2021 and 2022 for Switch but I think we will still be talking about how COVID slowed down development for a while.

Really depends on which entries you're talking about. With the Soulsborne games the quality isn't that consistent. Specifically Dark Souls 2 (which did exactly what you're talking about with the difficulty) and Dark Souls 3 are just not up there. Probably because those were made by the "B team" and it shows.

Out of all of them though, Bloodborne in particular just goes from strength to strength and doesn't really have weaker areas like some of the others, but it does take a while to really get the hang of.
