Game composer Yoko Shimomura will be awarded the BAFTA Fellowship at this year's BAFTA Games Awards on April 8

Well fucking deserved. She is one of the best to do it. She is also one of the nicest people I've met.

One of the GOAT composers. She have crafted some of my favorite soundtracks. Parasite Eve. Final Fantasy 15. Legend of Mana. She's up there with Yasunori Mitsuda and Nobou Uematsu as my favorite composers.

Yeah she's literally my favorite of all time.

This is far, far overdue, she deserves to be one of the most known composers in the world, not just the industry. Incredible talent.

The woman is a living legend among gaming composers. She deserves any and all flowers directed her way.

It's telling that her work on FFXV is pretty much the only aspect of that game that was universally praised.

Well deserved, her job making part of the SF2 songs alone plus at other Capcom games justifies it.

Good list, but it misses Yu Suzuki

I see the BAFTAs mentioned on GAF more than anywhere else. Never met a single person who gives a toss about them in real life.

Deserved, she's one of the best game composers out there.

I'll listen to her soundtracks for games I don't even like.

Well deserved, Japanese composers in general don't get enough credit, some of these men and women have been pumping out high quality music for close to 40 years or more.
