GameCube is coming to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack

I think you are lucky if they add one game a year to that service. I gathered Sega was talking about doing their own thing and are waiting for the contract with Nintendo to dry up so they can pull those games from Nintendo's service.
That sucks. I will let the subscription end and will be done with it. I will be left with an absolutely fantastic, but utterly useless, MD controller.

I'll 100% take Wind Waker and Luigi's Mansion 1 as they are amazing titles, but I don't think Nintendo has the balls to put Smash Bros Melee on there with online play, they will sell the new Smash Fighting game and ignore Melee on that store simply to force their user base towards that new entry

I think they could, they'll just do it during a part of the year when they don't have big releases of their own, and away from the release of the newer Smash game.

I am just speculating but I don't think it gets updates very often as far as I know. Last update was end of November that included Vector man and Toe Jam and Earl I believe.
Let's see if Sega makes the jump to the Switch 2 service.

Resident Cheap Arse
I saw Path of Radiance in the future releases list.

I'm tempted to upgrade my subscription. Sorely tempted.

(Remake pls Nintendo)

What time is it?

You are correct. It lost Steam after 2022. Two updates in 2023 and one in 2024.

While I am glad GameCube emulation is coming to the Switch 2. I have no doubt it will fall short of what you get with Dolphin. Hopefully they will add Dreamcast, 3DS and Wii emulation. They could even sell a wiimote and sensor bar. Would be definitely worth it then.

They bring F-Zero GX back from the dead after 20 plus years, but they tie to it being online only WTF? It is as bad as Sega brining out Daytona 2 to home consoles...but making it complicated in doing so...

I still think they are going to Remake Twilight Princess. There's no value in releasing the poorly outdated Gamecube version on NSO

Edit: Also While MP2 was a Gamecube release originally, MP3 was a Wii title. I still think MP2/MP3 combo pack is coming

They've already remade Twilight Princess in 2016 a few years after they remade Wind Waker neither of which made it off the WiiU somehow.

That was a remaster. I'm saying a Remake.

WW is a Gamecube game that still holds up. Twilight Princess doesn't quite hold up on Gamecube and would benefit more from a full on Remake.

You can't buy them. You get them through the NSO subscription service.
I beg your actual fucking PARDON! WHAT THE FUCK?

Wow...so this shit is just sounding worse and worse by each passing day.

Still can't believe Nintendo thinks it's a good idea to have hideous borders on the side with your profile icon in NSO. In 16:9 they're gone but Wind Waker is 4:3. It's very distracting.

That and static images on OLED are not friends

How is NSO sounding "worse and worse" by continuing to work how it always worked?

This just means people's subscriptions will include more games than they did before.

By not making an option to just buy the games separately and have the service optional....

They can still have that subscription and still allow games to be bought individually

That would be better yes, but that's not how it worked for 7 years.

The GameCube games will work the same as every other NSO system, so nothing is getting worse.

I'm sure this is how you play those games! (no)

I mean, I could... I have a Wii and a Wii U, and both of them have tons of my disc games stored that I could copy over to my PC in a few minutes.

many people do that. due to how easy it is and how good the homebrew software is for Nintendo stuff, I bet Wii and GameCube emulation has the highest percentage of actual legal use cases out of all systems.

So zero improvement in regards to consumers having options then? Got it....
why is that relevant? Dolphin can also run the discs you rip on your Wii you know?
pretty easy to do as well.
all you need is a USB stick and a Wii or Wii U.

and that's legal.
shiiiiiiiiiit at this point

Because it’s a poor service where they never release all the games that people want, you can’t ever own them, and they trickle out over a decade. Bring back the ability to buy these releases, and don’t take an eternity to release them.
