GameCube is coming to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack

Because it’s a poor service where they never release all the games that people want, you can’t ever own them, and they trickle out over a decade. Bring back the ability to buy these releases, and don’t take an eternity to release them.
Which I fully agree with. That would be way better and I would like them to do that

But I don't get the "WHAT THE FUCK?" reaction to the 7th NSO system working the same as the previous 6.

Digital Foundry said about 2x higher resolutions on X and Y axes.

The first comparisons also confirm much sharper image on Switch 2 vs GameCube.
I meant improvement in terms of being able to buy the games instead.

Edit: I thought you also wanted be able to buy the games EDMIX EDMIX ? Why are you triggered by me agreeing with you that would be an improvement?

Me too. Everything, related to GameCube, made me more excited.
Still miss the Animal Crossing version they had on GCN, much improved graphics over the N64 original but still the old non 3D warped earth exaggerated perspective (… but I bet they will never port it as you could emulate older NES titles inside it hehe, but we will see…).

I beg your actual fucking PARDON! WHAT THE FUCK?

Wow...so this shit is just sounding worse and worse by each passing day.
This is how all of it is: NES, SNES, GB/GBA, N64, and Genesis.

Why would this be any different?

To be clear, I'm triggered that we can't buy games lol

I think the emoji sometimes looks like its saying someone is triggered, when many times I mean to say I'm triggered etc

They should just put them on their digital store and also allow the subscription for those that wish to play it that way and provide those options. I'm likely just going to stick with the versions I currently have now

So stoked that Chibi-Robo and Luigi's Mansion are coming. I don't currently subscribe to the tier with the expansion pack but this might tip me over the edge. The real key will be if we start getting some of the extremely rare 3rd party releases like Cubivore or Gotcha Force

Hopefully they do releases at a steady rate. $30/yr to rent those sucks. Sony had the right idea on the PS3/PSP/Vita where those expensive $100+ PSX games were getting released for you to buy and own for $5-10 dollars. Then they screwed it up with the PS4 not support them. Some of been drip fed back if you own previously owned them on the PS4/5. But we need a solution where you can continue to play your old library on all devices going forward.

Not going to lie, F-Zero GX is enough to sell me the system. I play it over Dolphin but having it on a console that is easy to use is enough for me.

I'm not sure the modern audiences are ready for this game.

What about twin snakes? Will I be able to play that.
probably not happening lol

Agreed. I get why they do it, but they lose money from me as I don't subscribe to NSO and would have bought a couple of games if they were available.

A little upset four swords adventures isn't there. That would be a good way to show case the game casting tech. And then the OG crystal chronicles i want to play that with friends (remake doesn't count)

they showed 4 swords something or other with 4 people playing with the new Chat stuff in the official Nintendo treehouse.

Why do they say higher resolution when there is still borders on the screen?

I'm still pissed F-Zero GX didn't get a remake. That this and 99 is all we got. Instead they make Kirby Air Riders. What the fuck.

I’m worried when they said “select” titles from the old NSO systems are coming to Switch 2. Surely they aren’t going to reset the release schedule right….right?

Also will the GameCube controller have the analog trigger???

Did they say that? Really? Sorry but if you could provide the quote it would be super, the idea of resetting the drip feed of games would be such as dick move from Nintendo :/…

You will have to go back to the direct where it talks about the GameCube games. At the very end of the segment it’s a one line statement and a screen showing the current NSO apps. They do say “select” games. Now they could mean the current selection, or they could mean they aren’t porting all of them right away . I have yet to see that clarifies.

It would be so awesome if nintendo was like sega and let you buy roms on steam, that's a pipe dream. I do with they let you just buy rom packs that stayed with your Nintendo account in perpetuality. Charge out the ass I don't care but some stability and confidence that I can keep a collection would go a long way.

I think you are lucky if they add one game a year to that service. I gathered Sega was talking about doing their own thing and are waiting for the contract with Nintendo to dry up so they can pull those games from Nintendo's service.
Funny enough I heard that SEGA held back on Bayonetta 3 until Nintendo accepted to put Mega Drive games into its service, that being one of the reasons we haven't heard from it for 4 years

Always curios about that relationship. Didn't realize Sega still holds some rights to the franchise. Weird.

I’ll re-sub to NSO once I get my Switch 2 and check it out.

Can’t wait for Smash Bros. Melee and Double Dash with added online play.

I'd honestly consider buying some of these games if they were available on the eShop, but since they are locked behind a subscription service, I guess I'll just keep using Dolphin.

what narrative are you talking about?
Melee being taken over by a grassroots community that is still thriving after 20 years and still one of the most competitive fighting esports. With not only zero support from Nintendo, but various attempts at Nintendo blocking it.

Plus Melee is a far better smash than the sequels. If Nintendo tried to emulate it, and likely not get it right, it would get a pushback from the community.
