You're a good guy and really is looking forward to this game so I hope that SP dont disappoint you and deliver a great experience without woke/girlboss tropes , blue eye samurai is a pretty good blue print in what to do with this type of character.... if they make it right you will be happy and I'll happily eat my crow.

And I just go back to the subject matter they are targeting again with this game. 1600s Japan is not compatible with the woke politics of 2024 Seattle and Portland. Sucker Punch would be incredibly foolish to attempt something so bizarre. Even if the MC is a lesbian then I'd expect it to have about the same impact that Jin being heterosexual had in GoT: virtually none.

Yeah, I hear ya. I mean, I loved inFamous SS and still do. It's literally in Seattle, but you can tell it's made with 90s sensibilities even though it's more modern than that. I don't think there's really anything that anyone can point to yet for GoY.

Now if Sony does take this down THAT path its going to really blow up on them as the fuse is already lit

What they did with Jin has nothing to do with this character.

The Atsu character looks much older and more gritty than the actress. More Michelle Yeoh like. She looks more stylized instead of direct 1:1 like Jin/Daisuke was.

At the end of the day, I really don't care about women/LGBTQ folks in my video games; I really only care about the following:

1. Stop putting women/LGBTQ folks in inauthentic roles that force you to completely suspend disbelief
2. Stop picking activists who despise their target audience. How is it that every one of these weirdos has a social media presence full of hate and divisiveness, and somehow they are the #1 choice.
3. The inability for these people to have a sense of self-deprecation to allow themselves to be made a joke of from time to time like EVERYONE ELSE ON EARTH is making their societal acceptance as pleasant as using sandpaper to wipe your ass

I think Sucker Punch is smarter than that. I really do. If I'm wrong then yes, PlayStation as a whole has massive problems. But I'm just not going to jump on this rage bandwagon until I see something worth being pissed about.

Probably more like GTA then, same world different locations, times and protagonists.

I still think they will go back and do a Ghost of Tsushima 2, I don't think this stops that happening in the future. Also the longer they leave it the more excuse they'll have to remaster GoT for PS6 ahead of GoT2 release :messenger_beaming:

What I don't understand, unless the character she voice lines up exactly with her identity, is the double standard that certain actors (it's in the name ffs) can only play certain roles, while others are freely able to play more.

SP may be smarter than that but they are not independent, they take orders from Sony. Current Sony strategy is to make everything woke and/or GaaS.

If she is a good actress she should be able to play any role without inserting her political or personal views in the role. So everyone should hold their final judgement of the game until it actually comes out and we find out. People that identify as different genders do exist and if that person is best suited for a job they should get the job. After all an actress with a familiarity with Japanese culture and that practices swordsmanship in gaming, probably isn’t a large list.

It's not that apparent. You have Concord then you have Helldivers which are as far apart as each other. You have Spiderman 2 and then you have Astrobot. Demon's Souls and TLOU remake.

Clearly, it isn't cut and dry as you think it is.

Is the game good? Yes? Then I will buy it. I am sooooo fucking shit of this whole "DEI" nonsense. The only thing that matters is how good the gameplay is and if its fun. Concord wasn't bad because of DEI characters; it was bad because it was a mediocre game, and no one wanted to play it. I'm not saying I like forced DEI stuff in my games, but I'm willing to deal with it if the game is good. No game is perfect anyway.

I think people have a legitimate reason to worry about this game when the voice actors/actresses and model of the female character in the sequel are the same as the voice actors/actresses from the body type 2 player character in the new Dragon Age game.

I think I wrote that all the right way...

Concord was woke/GaaS, Sp2 is woke, HD2 is GaaS. TloU remake and DS are based on 2009/2013 games so they couldn't change that much. Astrobot is for kids?

I think we have to look to the future, they started this just ~2 years ago so most games released in between 2020-2024 were still based on previous strategy.
