Gizmodo: ‘Path of Exile 2’ Players Call Bullshit on Elon Musk’s Video Game Stream

I know who you are. It's the word 'popular' I was side eying.

So we can safely discredit his Diablo IV account too? This is embarrassing. Elon, the fraud.

It never added up, since it just requires a huge amount of time to grind. It's less obvious in D4, as it just turns into a clicker game when your character build is good enough.
But I always thought that he was paying someone to level up, that is what a businessperson does in the end.

Charlie chimes in lol

Imagine actually hero worshipping this fucking dolt :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Why would any of his businesses be any different to this? If he's pathetic enough to lie about something so trivial just to try to look good to a bunch of gamers, then he's certainly pathetic enough to apply the same attitude and methods to everything else.

i called it last year in the d4 thread.

Him streaming occasionally is just a part of a PR stunt to make himself look like he still has it with the gamer crowd, so he can impress his billionaire friends. He's not going to waste time grinding his character. Just order one of his personal assistants to do it for him (or rather, his PA who knows jack shit about games orders one of the interns to do it).

season 2 he comes out of the no where to copy AceofSpades' Shred build. I seriously doubt he grinded the Tears of Blood glyph that season.

I think he got sensitive after people clowned him for his Elden Ring build

He is arguably among the most deceitful famous western civilian people on the planet. I'm continually astonished to see people commending him for falsehoods they are too blind to recognize.

Path of Exile 2, FSD, Hyperloop, Twitter, "Vegas loop", DOGE or Starship, it's all the same bullshit:

:messenger_tears_of_joy:

It's ironic this silly incident is insight into how Elon always operates.

1. Buys himself into a position of power.
2. Gets more talented people than him to do the hard graft.
3. Takes all the credit for it.
4. Knows just enough to fool the general public to get away with it.

Unfortunately for him he fucked up at 4 this time. The average person doesn't know much about electric cars, rockets, and robots etc so he can look like he knows what's he's talking about with those things. Experts are never fooled by him but they don't have enough influence to stop the misinformation spreading like wild fire.

This is different because

1. He actually had to demonstrate competency.

All the other stuff he can just chat shit to journalists. He never actually has to demonstrate being an engineer.

2. Gamers are experts at being Gamers!

If the old saying about needing 10,000 hours to be expert is true.... Well some of us are overqualified!

It's crazy that this might be the thing that truly sinks his reputation but I'll take whatever I can get lol.

Its truly hilarious how badly he fumbled such an easy PR win. If Musk wanted to appear personable and gain standing with gamers all he had to do was say that he enjoys PoE (or any game for that matter) and maybe stream some campaign gameplay. Instead his egomania got the best of him and he just had to invent some preposterous lie about being the best PoE/Diablo/Quake gamer of all time.

What misinformation are you talking about?

I have absolute respect for him creating companies and hiring awesome talents and than achieving great things with them. Thats the normal modus operandi for every business/company.

Its just that this isnt the modus operandi for being good at video games. In fact its a no go. He should just stop pretending to be a godgamer. If he is interested in video games and sometimes play them...like everyone else...that would be already enough to get all the appreciation he is looking for.

He doesn't create them. That's the misinformation right there.

He invests in companies that are already operating and muscles his way into power by being the biggest share holder. He ousted the original founders of Tesla this way and it was a similar situation with PayPal although in that situation he got kicked out but made off with a huge some of money.

There is alot of information about this on youtube and the net. If your interested I can provide links however thunderfoot is a good starting point.

It's a long rabbit hole your going down though if you do decide to look into it...

The whole thing is crack8ng me up watching players reactions with the chaos orbs and that one guy who said "what is that item?"I'm assuming items so good that even people who play the game religiously have never even seen before and he's brushing it off as it's some lowly greens or blues in wow when you are level 80.

I think the egg on the face is warranted for Elon, it's only fair Elon, plus I don't know how it is in poe2, even though I've only played it so far for a couple of hours, but on wow, account sharing will get you perma banned if they find out.

But thats also completely normal stuff. 🤷‍♂️And you cannot say that he wasnt quite sucessful with Tesla.

And I am also pretty sure he founded SpaceX himself. Just giving credit where credits are due.

Exactly. Thats godgear he was running around with. You cannot even buy similiar on trade...it just dont exist....its that good. And he is hovering over these items and just judge them based on their "requirement level" which is really the most useless stat on an item. It just defines when you can equip an item. So its not even the "item level", which is hidden and can only be seen when hovering over it and pressing ALT.

That was sooo funny to watch! :messenger_tears_of_joy:

That's crazy, I just got started in poe 2, i have a lot to learn, im currently level 7 as a witch. I just want to say, I don't look down on people who get boosted or carried, I think we have all done it at some point.

I know I have in wow with ahead of the curve, sometimes you are unable to find players willing to invite you or you are unable to find a successful group, but I've never been the one who died and let them do all the work, I still put in a good fight. I think of all my ahead of the curve achievement, I was carried in 2 and that's only because time was running out to get guaranteed mount that no longer exists on the game.

But to bullshit your entire character where you don't know how to play the game and try to pass yourself off as some gifted gamer is beyond lame. There are rules in place to stop players from sharing accounts, none of the shit I did risked my account being banned, but when you have money they will overlook it.

No real harm was done (except anyone had a good laugh about Elon's "skills" in PoE....shit happens). I would even believe that he has no clue that account sharing is against the rules, especially when you have a char who is competing for "first char lvl 100" in hardcore trade league. GGG should give him a notice and when he isnt doing it again...no one will care anymore I guess. 🤷‍♂️

Just like Zuckerberg, Elon Musk is a figurehead for various high profile companies that it’s alleged he runs, alongside X, shitposting on that platform night and day as well as running Tesla, SpaceX, the Boring Company etc etc while now being one of the top players at Diablo 4 and now Path of Exile 2.
He’s an actor, selected to play the public role, he’s a generalist who can (barely) speak on a load of subjects and claims to have created all these innovative ideas when all that happened is he bought company’s and pushed the original founders out (Tesla & PayPal) before then claiming he founded them.
The gaming media (liberal far left) turning on him is just their latest play until he does something they like again (like chip the world, rollout the X payment does everything app and then enslaves us to his own social credit scoring all controlled by his super AI god he worships) shouldn’t surprise anyone, it’s all quite amusing so long as you don’t believe the public persona we are sold

Immunity to humiliation is quite a superpower I guess.

Personally, humiliation is my kryptonite.

For context, I still wear Superman underoos…….damnit why did I share that….ugh feeling…humiliated…now

Good idea, use gaming as propaganda. Just have peons level then livestream so young impressionable men will think you're a chad.

Bad idea, failing to play the game a bit before taking the reins at level 90. If you can't even do that, don't perform the livestream gimmick.

A dude with his IQ could have foreseen this plan backfiring on the image/pr intention.

Between Musk trying to fake being a cool gamer (amongst many other pathetic things he's doing) and Notch being a complete idiot online, I am firmly convinced that being a billionaire is one of the loneliest existences on this green earth and wouldn't even wish it on my worst enemies.

So he clearly doesn't have 'his IQ'.

If he straightup lies about something petty like that, it's impossible to consider anything that he says as truth. That's just the reality of things.

*catches rocket*

Will be remembered as stupid liar for game stream

I understand that, but if he lies so damn hard about something so silly, maybe there's much more to the story instead of "catches rocket". Maybe he's just too good of a liar that was able to kept funding coming in for a venture that, if any entrepreneur was able to work on consistently for several years with money, would get to. If the source of his power is being a unbelievable liar, that could explain all of the stuff he did in a way or another.

The thing is:
If you don't question some of this stuff yourself after he lied for something so silly, you're being extremely naive.

The amusing part is thinking that Elon is doing this to impress people. The dude has a metric shitload of "Fuck you" money, are people really this delusional to think he really cares?

I couldn't care less and I don't really care about Elon's dumb antics in general, but the people who endlessly bitch and moan and complain about him are just as pathetic. It's funny because America just had a VP candidate who pretended to be this down-to-earth sociable guy who enjoyed video games, only to play Crazy Taxi on stream and be absolutely horrendously dogshit at it, and nobody even called it out in the gaming media because the guy wasn't allied with a certain figure. It's pretty much the standard at this point to "pretend" to be relatable. It's all hypocrisy and pointless shit flinging.

Of course he cares. It’s narcissism. Being rich doesn’t magically cure your very human flaws. Nobody would care about this either if he wasn’t pretending to be a pro at the game.

You folks are going to make that man buy NEOGAF from evillore, then probably think of ways to charge me subscriptions. Please don’t.

One other serious question. How do so many of know these folks on these videos? I don’t have YouTube so I’m really familiar with it’s videos, but my thought process is there are so many people on videos these days, how do you folks keep up with them?

Now Elon is trying to call out Asmongold as getting "carried" too because he has... editors for his YT channel? Just like any other content creator? And leaking DMs, which is against his own platform's TOS? And he took away Asmongold's blue checkmark?

Elon's brain is just full of worms and so unbelievably effing cooked and disconnected from reality, lmfao. A true $44 billion net worth real life Tony Stark genius.
