Yep, that's them.

This is absolutely hilarious and also kinda tragic.

I remember when I first saw this on twitter, I didn't think it was real because the intention is too overt.

Why don’t you try playing the fucking thing and then you can answer your own questions.
Because I’m at work and was hoping to discuss the video game on a video game discussion board to get a better idea of what to expect. It’s also quicker to get an answer this way. Sorry for any offense caused to you brother, gamers rise up.

So far I would rate this game a 7/10. It’s good, but it’s just more of the same from the 2018 and much longer to boot. I wish game devs would realize that just because they fill their games with bloated to do list stuff it doesn’t make it a better product. But who knows, maybe it will stick the landing and made the previous 30 hours feel more worthwhile.

Stevivor: 9/10

God of War Ragnarok proves playing it safe needn’t be a bad thing – it can be brilliant. Santa Monica Studio has subtly tweaked its sequel across the board to craft a superior, but very similar experience, that’s designed to follow on and complement its predecessor – not simply surpass it. It leaves us with a double act that realised it didn’t need to become a trilogy. Two games that should always be remember together, and the ultimate combination of equal and unified story and gameplay, as one complete experience.

Hell is freezing soon i guess, lmao.

Is this game more linear than God of War (2018) or is it only like this in the beginning hours?

Feels like the same game but with more hand holding and more QTEs (which are also even less engaging than last time) so far. Should I play on a harder difficulty than the default setting?

A slightly worse God of War (2018) is still not bad though.
It is less linear, you have more areas like the lake of nine, and the story sure AF is less linear and bigger in scope.

If you have good\great skills with action games, hard\very hard mode is where the real fun is, if you don't like a challenge, it looks like even normal is a bit on the hard side (at least at the beginning).

Maybe try the combat on normal and if you don't have problem, go to hard and then to very hard.

The game is harder than the first one, even just for the enemy variety\groups composition.

I'm not sure if i noticed all these qtes...you have maybe 1 or 2 during major boss fights, but nothing that happen very often, 95% of combat is against normal enemies with zero qte.

Really? I'm 18 hours in and haven't seen a to do list.

All the side content so far has been unique and felt very well implemented into the world.

Sometimes it’s really easy to tell who hasn’t played the game.

“I thought GOW18 was just ok good not great so I went out there and bought Ragnarok at launch, put over 30 hours into it in just a week and my thoughts are ok, kinda boring and why does it play like assassins creed Valhala? 7/10”

If Ragnarok "plays the same", then what was everyone saying during the older PS gens with the Tomb Raider franchise, Crash Bandicoot, Jak 2 and 3, Spyros, Uncharted 2 and 3, Infamous 1 and 2, hell even the older God of War games had less evolution in terms of gameplay than GOW 2018 to Ragnarok.

I feel like expectations for sequels are getting ridiculous. Sequels don't re-invent the wheel. They never did. Ragnarok has legit chapters that feel like a completely different IP.

Kill all the Ravens. Open all the chests, solving the same 3 to 4 variety of ”puzzles”. Find the very obvious buried treasure. Kill the Hateful. I would go one, but it would end up spoiling later things in the game. Its busy work To do list stuff.

The game is awesome but some of the fights in Give me God of War mode has me hitting the L3 and R3 in real life. My controllers are fearful at this point and I am inventing new curse words to describe the frustration lol I am like 24 hours in...

I don't think God of War mode is as hard as Ultra Hard for horizon. A scrounger half my level in horizon ( I'm level 36) can almost 1 shot me...

What about all the copy/paste dungeons, bosses, Evergaols, Erdtrees, etc in Elden Ring? Was that busy work too?

That's all optional stuff, easily ignored if you don't enjoy it.

Copy/past bosses? There were a few that were the same model, but offered differing challenges in how you combat them. Many with entirely new moves. Copy/Paste Dungeons? Each dungeon was unique, though a few shared similar core designs - none of it was “copy paste”, unless there was like 2-3 of them that I don’t remember well. Evergoals? You mean uniquely challenging versions of a handful of bosses with a few completely unique to just those locations? Erdtrees would be the only thing that was “copy paste” and even then, they would usually be 10-30 hours apart Unless you left them all for the end and just rushed each one in a series.

Meanwhile in GoW:R it is *literally* a checklist. Its on the feckin’ map screen as a checklist.

I get you are a big Sony Fanboy, but at least have a good argument.

Why is that different from trying to find all the chests/items/powerups in "insert game you like"? You can completely ignore that part.

The actual side quests are good, they don't even feel like side content.

All games deserve a little constructive criticism for example the puzzles being solved before I can get a chance to figure it out is annoying but at the end of the day this for me tops 2018 it's right there with the Witcher 3 and 2018 as one of the greatest adventures ever crafted it's simply freaking amazing! I hope and pray 🙏 we don't have to wait another 4 years for whatever Santa Monica comes up with. They've truly outdone themselves with this one though lol I think some people are underestimating how hard it is to create not 1 but 2 games that will be considered to be some of the greatest games ever made bravo Santa Monica studios.

One thing that bothers about the way they talk is they talk like they are in our world especially Thor's daughter She talks like high school teenager in our world.

Ignoring the more elaborate GoW:R side missions that culminate into some really awesome story moments while hand waving away all the checklist content in Elden Ring is totally dishonest

Maybe you shouldn’t be throwing out the term fanboy at other people

Where am I “ignoring” anything? The side missions don’t make up the bulk of the content and I have stated elsewhere (unless the post was deleted) that the side missions are where the few good moments of writing reside.

But yes, I will call out the term fanboy at blatant fanboys as I have always done. The fact that *you* can’t handle the most mild criticism about this game speaks entirely about your character.

I can handle criticism without resorting to calling people fanboys.

There’s tons of checklist recycled content in ER. Just because it may not show up on the map via a check list format doesn’t mean it isn’t checklist content.

That doesn’t mean it’s bad, but it’s no different than the stuff you disparage GoW with. Can’t believe the conversation has come down to overplaying the significance of Ravens and Chests…like what the fuck are you going on about? Elden Ring somehow doesn’t have its own loot to find or weird sequence of fetch quests and or minor puzzles?

The game has much more significant missions and optimal boss fights that are really fun and elaborate just like ER.

You make it seem like GoW is somehow a massive disappointment due to….ravens? Fuck outta here with that nonsense. Feels like there’s some big narrative push by certain people with an agenda to try and knock God of War down from being one of the best games made in the last few years

I would say if you enjoyed GOW 2018 then Ragnarök is better game in almost every part, even with Ravens you have better motivation to collect them.

My criticism mostly the way characters won’t shut up about puzzles and some of story sections draaaaaaaaags on way too long.

I am merely calling a spade a spade. If you find offense in that, then maybe don't make posts like this that only further support that terminology.

I already pointed out how they are different. Merely claiming "but they *are* the same!" doesn't counter any point I made. Try again.

When did I ever say it didn't have that?

I disagree on that last bit - personally, I don't find them any more elaborate than a typical God of War boss fight - but I do agree that there are plenty of fun optional bosses. Never did I suggest otherwise.

The only one who needs to "fuck outta here with that nonsense" is you. Never did I say that this was anything other than a mild criticism. I never suggested that the game is a massive disappointment because of the checklist design of its side activities. YOU are the fanboy who continues to push that assertion. And the bolded just further proves that you can't handle any criticism of this game.

Let's read what you said again:

Copy/past bosses? There were a few that were the same model, but offered differing challenges in how you combat them. Many with entirely new moves. Copy/Paste Dungeons? Each dungeon was unique, though a few shared similar core designs - none of it was “copy paste”, unless there was like 2-3 of them that I don’t remember well. Evergoals? Yes, Copy and Paste bosses. There's a lot of recycled content in Elden Ring. I don't find this to be a BAD thing either, but it's blatantly there. Evergoals are basically "checklist" bosses with tweaks. That's it.

The dungeons were some of the worst parts of Elden Ring. Unmemorable. Short. Not any good rewards generally. Hand crafted? I GUESS that's what the developers claim, but you could easily be fooled into thinking they are procedural. I ended up skipping 90% of them, and this is a significant portion of the side content in Elden Ring. If you're going to praise Elden Ring's dungeons and then shit over God of War's mini-puzzles scattered throughout that may be of a familiar type but obviously the execution tends to be quite sifferent for many of them, I don't know what to tell you. It's just objectively wrong.

Again - the point isn't to disparage Elden Ring, just not put it on some pedastal like you supposedly are. The side content in Elden Ring is of comparable quality to what you'd get in God of War, which is to say mostly great compared to other games, but obviously contains things some would call "checklist filler". What sets them apart is that they are both fairly digestible through the natural course of exploration and never overstay their welcome. They aren't like a Ubisoft games where they feel overbearing with bordedom. You actively seek them out.

Mild criticism? Lmfao, You gave it a 7/10, said it was the same as 2018 and filled with bloat. That's not mild criticism when there's LITERALLY not a SINGLE official review on Metacritic, of which there are 131, that is BELOW an 8. So yeah, maybe it is YOU that's wrong, being overly harsh, and probably have some kind of weird axe to grind to try and pit one of your more favored games against it. Somehow we're not allowed to enjoy both.

Yes, it is mild criticism. If me giving it a 7/10 is THAT much of an issue because a bunch of random cunts on Metacritic gave it 8 and higher (and as I have said before, the only ones who put stock into Metacritic are warriors and children who need validation for their own purchases) - you need to seek counseling. Nowhere did I ever say you can't enjoy it. You are the one with an axe to grind here, kiddo.

Ahhh yes, 131 "random cunts" and not a SINGLE one gives it a 7.

But some random dude on NeoGAF thinks GoW is no different from 2018, just more bloated with checklist stuff.

I don't care man, you do you, I'm just glad I'm not so bitter and jaded that I can't enjoy this masterpiece of a game

Once again, mate. Go seek help. Just because I found it to be disappointing doesn't mean you can't love it. The fact that my opinion triggers you *that* much is not healthy.

Here, I even googled it for you. Use it.

Have you guys seen the negative user reviews on MetaCritics? They just make no sense, as of most of these people have not played the game, this is insane.

GOW: Ragnarök got a 10 from the latest Play Magazine (UK Games Magazine) they are listed on Metacritic. I can actually see this Game reaching a 95 on Metacritic 👀

Its gotten over a half dozen perfect reviews in the last week. I think Edge giving it a good review will push it there maybe
EDGE Magazine will be the reason why this won't reach 95.
An EDGE editor already didn't like it that much from his tweets...besides the fact the 2018 entry got an 8.

If anything EDGE will seal the deal on this 94. If they give a 7 it could even go down to 93, who knows. (and it would be the game's 1st 7 lmao)

They’ll give it an 8. Which is the correct score.

Runs!
