GPU market is Screwed! RTX 5090's are selling for $6,000+

Predicts the worst decade for Sony starting 2022
That is US dollars and absolutely bat shit crazy. You could actually get a half way decent used older car with that kind of money. With the advancement of AI this problem is going to get worse. I read that Nvidia Makes $400 Billion dollars from their AI section but only $4 billion from their home pc side. Yes $4 billion is a ton of cash but it isn't shit in comparison so you know where the focus is going to be. I looked this up and was dumbfounded on what people are paying. I think from here on out, especially with Nvidia, shortages are going to be the norm.

Just go to ebay and search for the rtx 5090 and then filter by sold. It is absolutely unbelievable. I have seen selling for $9,000 and another for $7,500 dollars. I know there is shortages but that is just absolutely insane.

its good for us console gamers. People will realise the great value of console gaming.
A tariff console price will still be way cheaper than these standalone GPU price now.
It's not a mainstream product. The 5090, at launch, is for the 0.01% who absolutely have to have the newest top tier device on day one.

Pc gaming is a luxury that has no value.

If you have the money go for it.

But if you have to decide to eat or play , well you got your priorities mixed up.

Console gaming is budget gaming. Nithing more nothing less. Its pefectly fine for me.
I know its cheap entertainment.

Pc gaming though is something i cant explain to myself financialy. Even if it sells for 2k. I still cant justify it to myself.

What in the actual fuck are people doing. This is worse then top of the crypto boom.

Fuck scalpers and fuck Nvidia for not providing a modicum of supply. Oh and fuck AMD for incompetence.

No I remember the crypto boom and that was FAR worse. Back then you couldn’t get your hands on nearly ANY videocard.

was gonna say, you though that phase was over and nvidia would get on top of it, i think what's happened is they reserved all that ram for the enterprise customers (who are a lot more lucrative) and ai farms.

I really hope the RX 9070XT delivers.

I feel this is worse than the crypto boom at least for the higher end because back then I could easily get 10 series cards and get 30 series cards with some effort by the end of the year (2020).

The 4090 was always incredibly hard to score and are now gone, and now the 5090s cost 2x a 3090 and can't be found at all.

It's ok PC players only complain when they see Sony selling the PS5 Pro for $699. They absolutely love Nvidia raping their arses on a regular basis.

It is. And nvidia is the biggest criminal here.

Their continued silence about stock replenishment, about AIB going free wily on srp.

They are sitting back and see how much higher buyers can stomach gpu prices.

It is jover unless big publishers, big retailer and big youtubers come out and screw nvidia back.

Where is steve nexus gamer shouting scum at nvidia? I guess he is afraid of losing that exclusive line up to nvidia content! steve fanboys in tatters!

I’m part of the problem I know because I bought a 5090 but hey this is what happens when you have no competition.

You can charge £2,000 for a gpu and you can only ship a small amount and create demand which scalpers then hike the price up even more. I paid £3,700 and the prices are higher than that now.

6090 will be £2,500-£3,000 before scalpers lol. Because idiots like me will buy it and if you want the absolute best performance then it’s your only option.

Who is gonna stop Nvidia? Not AMD and not Intel. Until someone does then this is the new normal.

And some people on here are actively cheering for their favourite companies and wishing that others would disappear. Be careful what you wish for.

Don’t be part of the problem? Surely, you can live without that 30% performance uplift?

Why are you willingly part of the problem? Unless you have more disposable income than you know what to do with or it's a business expense I'm blind to possible reasoning.

100% this. It baffles me that so many warriors think monopolies are great for consumers. I suppose "think" is giving them too much credit.

And this is exactly why a rumored Xbox/PC hybrid with multiple storefronts might actually kill if executed properly

Made a crappy phPBB forum once ... once.
Blame the people that are buying them ffs.

Switch 2 will be the same. Probably not £5000 but you get the idea.

Rich people don't care. It's not like they are stupid either, imagine the difference between $2000 and $4000 being like the difference between $2 and $4 for you or whatever. It doesn't make any difference, it's still disposable pocket money. That's why they are the best target audience. Even when they know they are being scammed, they still don't care.

That's for hobbyists, just like it's not justified spending on a Lamborghini or a Ferrari even if you own a $100M, the numbers don't add up financially.

I knew 2k usd was fake mspr straight away at nvidia's presentation and real streetprice gonna be 3 to 4k usd, what i didnt know is shortages gonna be so terrible, so 6k usd makes sense currently, give it few months and by end of march/early april prices gonna go down to 3-4k usd and keep that price range for a while.
Remember old BiS card 4090, even with 1700$ msrp was 2500$+(even for basic models with bad cooling) still in the middle of january so 3 weeks ago, the new 5090 is 30-35% faster than that after allso 3k usd is minimum even if cards are videly avaiable later on :)
