Guerrilla Games Has Huge Ambitions for Horizon Multiplayer Game

Sony hasn't even fixed their ridiculous psn policy on pc which causes the game to not be available in the majority of the world. They're not having another helldivers 2 moment with it.

I think Sony drastically over estimates the success of this IP. Forbidden West sold 3 times less than Zero Dawn and the lego game is a pure commercial failure.

This might bomb super hard imo.

I love third-person action adventure games but I can't get into horzion. I tried. I bought the first one day 1. I really wish this series would go away and they could use their considerable tech skills for something else.

Could easily see this happening if they basically make it like Helldivers 2, where you are a soldier and fight off the initial attack of AI machines that predates The first game by a thousand years.

If it’s people with bows fighting mech Dino’s this is doomed to fail.

The Horizon games are great, notwithstanding the woke pandering they injected into the second game (Aloy turning lesbo out of nowhere was forced, cringe and utterly unwarranted).

That said, they're definitely over-milking the cow at this point.

Bring it back you losers, no one gives a shit about Horizon for fucks sake.

I can't even express how sick I am of seeing this lame-ass character and series. This shit could not be more milquetoast and corporate.
I agree the story and character of Aloy both suck. But I don't think Horizon online will have anything to do with Aloy or her journey.

If Guerilla Games focuses on building up amazing game worlds, like they did exceptionally well in the Horizon Games, and improve combat, the game could be quite good, imo

You mean the game world that is inconsistent in itself, literally confront the player with invisible walls when they are out exploring and in which fast running / riding / climbing is awkward because you constantly get stuck somewhere?

The world looks beautiful and impressive in screenshots, but I didn't have any fun with it in HFW.

It's static, characters and enemies look placed and not alive and there are also the flaws mentioned above.

Nice tech demo, but not a really great game world.

Meh, agree to disagree. The one thing the Horizon games did well was create gorgeous open worlds to roam around in. Character animations are great too

Everything else was pretty mediocre, especially the combat. If Online has any chance to succeed, Melee combat needs to be completely overhauled and made viable

The game has been in the works since 2018, and rumors are that it comes out first half of this year. So we should see it soon enough

If it plays like the watered down monster hunter-lite as always, then don't expect it lasting long. Horizon gameplay is so tedious as Guerrilla couldn't even figure it out how to reduce the bloated and irrelevant weapon and ammunitions variations going from the first to the second game, so I don't expect massive improvements for their online multiplayer version.

Let's hope it doesn't release next to GTA6.

I feel like Herman Hulst must have some personal stake in the Horizon franchise seeing how is trying to push so hard for Aloy to be the face of PlayStation.

Aloy is one of the most generic protagonist to grace the PlayStation.

Whoever said the Horizon franchise was the biggest industry plant around might honestly be right.

Never seen anything like this. Two heavily marketed games which are both mid at best, a fucking LEGO game, an upcoming movie and now an online game. What next?

You would think this franchise was Grand Theft Auto level in attention, sales and what not with all of this going on.

Yall love throwing the word "Industry Plant" around to the point where it has no meaning anymore. The jealously is incredible.
