As I've said quite a lot, GW aren't going to risk their bottom line... which is plastic. It will always be plastic. This deal is all about having better ways to sell that plastic. GW were never going to allow Amazon to creatively alter the way 40k is depicted, because that would mean having to change the plastic - and potentially risk the millions of loyal customers they have.
People will still whine about DEI when the adaptations do come out, because there are a lot of women and minorities in 40k, and they will be featured. GW is a very left leaning company in its own right.
But look at the Secret Level episode:
That was greenlit by the same people who will be involved in the live action stuff. It's going to be gory, grimdark, nasty and violent. The biggest issue they might have had was if Amazon got squeamish over the content - but it looks like they're okay with it, hence it going ahead.
