Biggest differences:
HD-DVD players are cheaper
HD-DVD selection today is better, and supports more advanced features
BluRay holds more, which will eventually matter, but not much
BluRay has, by far better studio support (but most of those studios have been holding back their big-name titles).
I expect BluRay selection to take off this year, and the advanced features to start appearing on discs.
