Yeah. I found that too. I don't know if there is more to it.Some frog statue sucked me in and teleported to the hidden room.

Its incredible, the story does zip along pretty quick though. I just stall it as much as possible so I can make it last longer. I initially was gonna do a quick(ish) playthrough as Ravenclaw and then a more through playthrough with another house, but when I learned there is pretty much zero difference other than the common room and a couple of minor differences in one or two quests dialogue, I decided to just do a thorough run through on my first file. Absolutely mesmerised by this game thoughJust played for over 10 hours. Haven't been this engrossed in a single player game for a long time, and I play a ton of games. It's incredible, and it feels like it's just getting started. I usually hope games are short but I don't want this to end anytime soon. Luckily, I'm reading it's pretty long.
Not sure if series x runs better, but i uncapped FR, turned off all other effects on balanced and it runs 50-60. It can be a little choppy when transitioning between areas but otherwise its very playable. I am fussy about framerate as well so I would def knock it down to performance if it was bothersomeBarely scratched the surface (3-4 hours in), but I'm digging it. The game just oozes charm and attention to detail.
I had been playing on Balanced on PS5 but the framerate is just too inconsistent for me (even on a VRR-enabled set), so I had to switch to Performance. It's a shame, since the visuals do take a noticeable hit. It still looks great though.
I think I saw a comparison video showing XSX was better on Balanced mode, so that could be the case. I don't think PS5 is hitting 60 fps on Balanced anywhere apart from maybe very small rooms. I won't say it's bad on PS5, but I think I've just been spoiled by 60 fps and have become overly sensitive to something that's doing even 40-50 fps when the smoother option is there. Not sure if series x runs better, but i uncapped FR, turned off all other effects on balanced and it runs 50-60. Btw this isnt true, each house a wide range of quests.
Here is some key points that ive gathered from others playthroughs
Slytherin - Quest that goes under the lake
Gryffindor - Not sure
Hufflepuff - Quest that goes into Azkaban
Ravenclaw - Lowest amount of quests
Dayummmmmm Im wrong thenThe quests/assignments are the same for every house, it's even written in the prima guide. There are slight differences in one or two main quests and thats it.

Had a political argument that you might not expect while playing this last night…
i wanted to pick Slytherin house but the person watching me was convinced that would automatically make me evil!
You can be a good Slytherin, right? Right?
I lost my second round the first time. It kept targeting the wrong person, like instead of shooting the girl in front of me, my character would make hard turns left or right and fire off screen. I found keeping the enemies all in front of you helps, but also kind of killed the immersion of the combat.
Not bad, but definitely could use some tuning.
I’m quoting myself. To give an impression. My daughter was getting frustrated that the confirm and cancel face buttons were opposite than what she’s used to on the switch. I had to break it to her that Nintendo is the only one that’s opposite. I did think about changing it in the menu, but I’d rather she adapt. Especially if she’s gonna play more of my titles on the PS5.I have her learning the controller right now. Hogwarts after dinner. She’s only used to switch.![]()
Edit: Not gonna lie. Seeing my two autistic daughters having fun together right now brought some tears to my eyes.
Good thing I don’t do twitter. But fuck those pieces of shit.Just as a heads up the woke crowd are now posting endgame spoilers for the game on twitter to "get back" at people playing
Just had it spoiled for me and while I'm annoyed I'm playing more to explore Hogwarts tbh
Can I be an evil asshole like in mass effect games and say fuck you to everyone?
The quests/assignments are the same for every house, it's even written in the prima guide. There are slight differences in one or two main quests and thats it. The person you quoted was correct, there is no 'wide range' of differences at all.

I really wish it was mandatory for all games ever made.Hogwarts needs dynamic UI option for that is fades away during gameplay like Forbidden West.
Bro it's a Harry Potter game. There is no morality system. You can be kind of rude in a lot of conversations but you can't run around telling teachers to go fuck themselves or whatever.
In a side quest where some student asked me to collect her stinky marbles I kept them instead of returning them and she hasn’t had anything nice to say in passing since. There are also a bunch of “maybe you should pay me more” options that remind me of The Witcher lolCan I be an evil asshole like in mass effect games and say fuck you to everyone?
I'm creating my character. Quick question....
Can I change my appearance later on? I mean, if I put glasses on my character right now am I stuck wearing them for the rest of the game?
What about hair colours/styles?No, you can find all kinds of glasses during the game Edit: I mean, you can equip or unequip glasses and masks whenever
What about hair colours?
Final round of crossed wands is tough. Don’t think I’ll beat them anytime soon… no idea if it’s actually that hard or I’m just a bad wizard.
The latter would explain why I never got my real life letter to Hogwarts I guess.
If you press Square or X on the item in you gear you can remove it with a "Transmog"No, you can find all kinds of glasses during the game Edit: I mean, you can equip or unequip glasses and masks whenever
PS5. The game takes place well before the books and movies so I'm not sure rewatching them will be necessary, although I dunno how many nods to fans I'm missing by going in blind. What platform?
I also only watched first 2 movies + fragments whatever was on tv 20 years ago. So I know the basics but I am not a fan and I forgot everything.
Thinking if I should rewatch first few movies maybe?
Anyway. I watched gf reviews and they said that the game is a slog in hogwarts and Bette r outside but they had mixed feelings. I don’t know if I trust their opinion since they streamed and were not very focused on the game
I've turned it all off and it seems to play fine that way if you can remember your spell button binds. But yes, dynamic HUDs are way better.Hogwarts needs dynamic UI option for that is fades away during gameplay like Forbidden West.
