This is really just in general: play the main story until you unlock - well everything. Yes, you can get more potions from J. Pimpins, but it is far easier to make your own in the Room of Requirement.

U can u lock more doing the Merlin stuff but yeah it’s annoying early on. I was just destroying greens and selling off blue sand higher that not using. Made it a habit to teleport to a store to drop shit off a lot.
Had a ton of ?? Gear long before I unlocked the decrypt station too…

There's really zero reason to hold on to gear that is lower level than you. This is AC:O in terms of loot where everything you pick up is tied to current level. So always clear out that gear space in between dungeon spelunking (or discovering the ridiculous amounts of hidden rooms and side areas in Hogwarts).

Just do the story missions until you get to potions class, it's really early in the game.

So what’s this talk of twitch streams with giving away in game gear or something?
Not sure if this runs afoul of anything but all exclusive content is unlockable on PC, even content from the consoles which gives credence to the idea that this was all content in the base game that was just "turned off" for the PC client.
. . .at minimum, game says all of this content is unlocked with only a file change (reminds me of the Dark Souls 2 pre-order weapons that could be unlocked with a file edit).

I get what people mean by lack of gear slots. This shit sucks. I only encountered my first Merlin trial. Hopefully I find more quick so I can get more space.
You only get +4 slots per tier of Merlin trial unlocks. Sell whatever gear you don’t have equipped to avoid painful outcomes.

The dueling club is kicking my ass! There are multiple people on my team but the opponents always seem to be targeting me. I don't have enough health potions. Please tell me that my health points increase? The health bar depletes real fucking fast.
Yeah I sold a lot of stuff to free space up. There was a chest in the restricted library I couldn't open and a case in the lower grounds. There is a seller there so I sold all the shit to him. Only got 8 spaces left though. Need to find another merlin trial!

I like the sound of all the female ones. I have mine on the 2nd lowest. Not sure about adjusting it in the menu after character creation.

I can do an Order of the Pheonix style dodge now, and also all of my core spells pretty much have AoE effects. This game turns you into a powerful wizard, and if you go with those Slytheran style talents and spells, outright brutal. Man, what a game. And to think this is for kids.

If you're having issues, just wait till you get talents. Also go for MAXIMUM FOV (not sure if an option on consoles) as the default is far too limiting for how fast the students will cast on you. And don't be afraid to panic dodge until you've got a good positioning; Protego is good, but it can leave you open to get tagged after you counter something.
. . .but yes, this fight would have been much easier if I had gone in with the stuff that unlocks for you once you get far enough to get the RoR.
It's a bug that pops up sometimes. Same thing happens to the students. I'm pretty sure they're using some of the same tech that WD: Legions probably used to make all their NPC's, and so some of the AI generated reads do sound. . .off. At least for the MC turning pitch back to normal fixes it.

I've been rolling about the place to dodge shit instead of casting protego. I do use it sometimes but only when I directly see someone about to attack me. I'm rolling about and students out of my field of view are firing spells at me which kills me.
I'm on PC and have the FOV at max.

I read somewhere there are 4 dungeons in the game, does anyone know if they are the trials in the MQ or something else we can find in the highlands while exploring?
Traditionally in games like this I leave the MQ as long as possible but I'm noticing my level is 27 and the quests I'm getting in act 2 are like level 13. I progressed the story a bit and even in chapter 2 I'm still finding out new game elements, a couple of which are like a game in themselves.
Haven't been this enchanted by a game in a long time.
