Pleasantly surprised at those scores. Unless the reviews are only so good because the game went out of its way to be trans-friendly in every way possible lol.

Hopefully on PC there will be mods that remove any anachronisms that are particularly glaring (if there are any). I don’t wanna see male students running around pretending to be girls or something like that, and all the people in the game just treat it as normal…

Only 1 hour in, but from what I've played I would agree this is definitely a high 80's game at least. I was not expecting this quality to be honest, had resigned myself to it being a middling game, WB keeping back the story elements did this game a favour as it sucks you in and gets right into it from the moment you finish creating your character. Going to sell gang busters

I still don't understand how people make a connection in their head where goblins=jews. And when they start explaining it's usually them who sound racist as fuck since they're the ones that connect the physical characteristics with Jewish stereotypes. No sane person boots up a HP game and goes: "Hahaha hell yeah, can't wait to get them damn goblins who are totally an allegory to jews.".

Got to watch a review, and it really does look pretty good. The art style, NPCs, etc look great. The classes I'm sure are fun. For a HP fan this looks like a dream game.

I'm not a HP fan though so I'll wait for a sale or skip it. The open world looks like the normal stuff you'd expect, but it seems better than I expected. Looks really good.

Do we know if the PC Performance is good? I heard some bad things about stuttering. Cant decide if i should go PC or PS5.

I have a 3080 with an Ryzen 3800x and 32gig of RAM. I really hope I can play this game nicely/totally ok on my 4k oled. Can't wait for benchmarks!

Other then that the reviews looks stunning. Probably gonna be a buy when I can figure out how my hardware will hold up!

Yep, me too. I'm a very casual fan. I've seen the original movies, so I know the basic plot, but that's about it. I'll probably pick this up in the fall when it's 50% off on a Steam sale.

yep, the people screeching about that show themselves to be extremely antisemitic. Jon Stewart was iirc the first to bring it up, and he did it as a joke, a few days later he had to be like "stop I was only joking you guys sound like actual nazis now with how you talk about this" 😳

It's nice to see a lot of my concerns about this game's reviews not really materializing. Happy to see the raw review of the game, on it's merits. And that is what they are giving us. Sometimes things do work out!

Game looks solid. Very excited to play tomorrow :).

If anyone from the dev team/ publisher comes across this thread, *Congrats to Avalanche and WB Games and everyone involved in the game*. Make sure you take some PTO and rest up before you work on any DLC ;). The extra time for polish was clearly worth it!

Pretty impressive reviews, I wasn’t expecting it to be this good. I’ll probably wait until a sale but it could be fun with the kiddo…

This seems also to be one of the most trans inclusive game ever made, with major NPC beeing trans and character creator that give you no limit. Crazy that they are trying to boycott one of the first games that try to be completely inclusive with trans community lol

And all of that taking place in the 1800's which would have not make sense historacly wise, all things considered!

Anyone boycotting this game is just on a hate bandwaggon by this point.

Sadly they can't see past her..

I am by no means a fan of JKR's Politics, hell don't know much about her outside the Potter mythos.. What I do know is that I enjoy the world she created. My daughters enjoyed it and they learned some good lessons from it. We didn't see bigotry, or malice in her works.. The message at the end of the day, was friendship and love.. That sort of message resonates with me and my kids.

Now we have a game based on that mythos.. We have a team of Developers that took that mythos and built their own world, going out of their way to extending the inclusion provided within said world/mythos. Explicitly accommodating exclusivity and diversity. They should be applauded and supported for their efforts.
