I was amazed when the company US-Xbox played Japanese Region DVDs by simply sticking in the DVD playback button. I got the US-Xbox to play a US DVD (with US DVD playback), reject a Japanese DVD, and then swap playback buttons and get the JPN DVD to work while the US DVD got rejected.
Only did it once cuz I wasn't sure if I was going to hardlock the machine and possibly F all the region-coding up (making it unable to play games, etc.). Considering I was the only one in the office to even touch the Xbox, it wouldn't have made for a good game of Clue.
