Around 3k on Steam. And probably around $2500 in the past 5 years. I also took a 9 year hiatus from gaming and didn't own any consoles or play any games from 2011-2020. It may have been even more if I just didn't quit during that time.

But yeah, as a few people here have mentioned, this hobby isn't that expensive compared to others. You get the best bang for your buck in terms of entertainment.

personally i think steamdb is more accurate in todays prices.
i'd say i have more like 4-6k into it if not more.

Not sure, but definitely under 1000$.

I am very selective about what I am buying, and that includes titles with lowered prices as well.

I did bought a few games, like Death Stranding, Horizor Zero Dawn to support PC ports, or Suikoden 1&2 remaster because I want more Suikoden titles in the future.

I estimated about $400 altogether in the last 12 years. Most of my purchases were in 2013 and 2014 and only 7 purchases after that. I got my first gaming pc in 2013 in order to play final fantasy 14.

are the games I have on Steam. The last one I bought on disc as a collector's edition. When I noticed that the disc contained a Steam installer and nothing else, I decided never to buy anything on Steam again because I felt legit scammed.
