I'm going to be very poor - upcoming games

Anyway for September I plan to get DQ VII and for October I plan to get World of Final Fantasy (absolute priorities). On my radar I also have Ace Attorney 6 and SMT IV Apocalypse but things may get too cluttered if I attempt to play everything, mostly due to work. :/

I'm ok.

SMT4 Final, Ace Attorney 6 and Pokemon SM are all I'm definitely planning to buy. Oh, and I should grab Rhythm Heaven whenever I get the chance.

I'll buy a PS4 next year for Persona and grab FFXV, Deus Ex, The Last Guardian and Gravity Rush 2 if they were well received.

I'm just hoping I can purchase Deus Ex and that my laptop can run it decently on the lowest settings. That's about all I'm looking forward towards this upcoming few months actually...

What the hell are you doing? Who has this much time? Also theres some shit in that list that i question that you are actually buying. Explain to me what ATV Renegade is? Because i cant find anything on it other than this sweet box art. Why are you excited for it?

I don't have that much time now, but hope to play eventually. I will talk myself out of some of these for sure. Will buy most especially based on reviews and opinions.

One way to avoid paying full retail price is to pick them up during the various B2G1F sales that occur during October and November at various stores such as Target, BB, Amazon and Toysrus. Also, BF is your friend and consider singing up for either BB GCU or Amazon prime.

My log:

Final Fantasy XV
Pokemon Sun + Moon
The Last Guardian
Skyrim Remastered (PS4)
Xenoverse 2

Which isn't too bad, I can wait out Xenoverse 2 and Skyrim.

But starting Q1...
Persona 5
Horizon: Zero Dawn

Then sometime later Zelda BOTW.

It's going to be a packed 6 months of gaming.

September is a bloody battleground for time and money.

Just in JRPGs alone

Dragon Quest VII 3DS
Final Fantasy XV
Trails of Cold Steel 2

and then others like
Steins:Gate 0
Psycho pass

not to mention games I've already paid for in the rest of the year like:
South Park : the Fractured butthole
Shantae 1/2 genie Hero

All that and a brand new kid due literally any second...

I mean yeah there's a lot but I'm buying maybe 2-3 games rest of the year. I just don't go through them fast enough.

I thought you were buying them as a collector and hoping to eventually play them one day?

Let me try to rephrase.

I buy hoping I can play. Trade in most even if I don't get to them at some point to feed my need to buy other titles, especially new releases. Some of my friends say I've turned in to more of a collector than player. I do keep a bunch of titles, but it doesn't fill rooms or anything.

The only game I plan to buy is the crash remake. Uncharted 4 multiplayer can last me years as unc2 and 3 did for me. Don't see how you can even have time to enjoy them.

Great end to the year, I'm getting 4 of them day one and another 2 as soon as possible.
Then I should be into next year and Mass Effect :)

God OP, thats way too many games. Who has time for all that? I've trimmed my list down significantly.

Bioshock Collection
Pokemon S&M steelbook editions.
That call of duty remaster that comes with free IW.
Battlefield 1
Resident Evil 4 remaster.
Gravity Rush 2
Maybe rise of the tomb raider on PS4?
And maybe the last guardian depending on how I feel.

I mean I won't even finish those. And a PS4 Neos.

Dragon Quest VII and WoW Legion

Maybe to Dragon Quest Builders and FFXV.

There is certainly some other stuff but it'll have to be impulse or price drop.

I'm in for
Phoenix Wright VI, Dragon Quest VII, SMTIV Final (3DS)
Trails of Cold Steel 2, Darkest Dungeon, Cosmic Star Heroine (Vita).

That's more than enough to see out the year for me seeing as I've still got dozens of hours of Monster Hunter Generationa first.

Is this some sort of humble brag about you being able to purchase all of these games you've listed? Or do I just don't get it OP?

I buy many games and only a few on day one, I usually for sales via BB and their GCU program or sales via BC.

You should do the same.

lmao at ATV Renegade.

Rise of Iron, Battlefield 1, and Gears 4 for me...... The rest of this year actually seems pretty light.

My 100% surefire purchases are Deus Ex, Dishonored 2 and South Park. There are others that I have my eye on, but I think my wallet will survive.

If you're listing Sun & Moon then you're counting portable games, right? In which case you're missing loads of Vita titles (about a third of what I'm purchasing this year is for Vita).

Skipped Vita and portables. Ran out of time to include them in list, but honestly, I don't have portables.

Oddly, as I get older and have more job/home/life stuff going on, I find I can't stop from buying day 1 HOPING to get to play eventually. Will play in retirement? I've become a collector.
Well, if collecting games is your hobby, then that's fine, but it's probably best to not buy so many games with the intention of playing them eventually when it looks like you can't realistically play anywhere near that many of them.

That list is huge, and that's just for one year. If you buy them at that rate, you'll have an unimaginably huge pile of games by the time you retire. You'll have way too many games to even remember playing. And that's not even taking into account your tastes possibly changing. What's hot now might be totally forgotten two years from now.

Finally, if you're about to go broke collecting games, you probably want to rein things in a lot and save some money instead. Keep that money for more practical things. Spending tons of money on games that you don't realistically have the time to play, and telling yourself that you'll play them later is just rationalizing what is very much a luxury expense.

I am ok.

Deus Ex is for sure

Mafia III if its good

Probably Final Fantasy XV because I am weak and have to play the numbered FF game even though its probably gonna be bad.

And thats it

I tried to compile a reasonably complete list Of games coming for the next three/four months. All I can say is that I'm going to be very poor. I've purposefully left out anything about Playstation Neo. To be honest, I don't actually know if there are many threads out there with an updated list like this for the upcoming months. When I was younger, I played a lot. It was an escape from parents marital issues. I kept the hunger to buy/play games, even if I don't get to play/finish some games. I then trade in to buy more for most that I buy. It's a bit of compulsion at this point. It isn't healthy.

1 game I will get.

Maybe 2.

South Park and maybe Battlefield depending on the reception of the single-player.

No offense to your taste, but there are a lot of very questionable games there that certainly don't warrant a release day purchase.

There are two games I think I'll pick up soon after release on that list - Deus Ex and The Witcher 3 Complete (which totally snuck up on me - been waiting for that one).

Of course they both come out this month, and I obviously can't play both at the same time so I'll buy The Witcher at $50 and wait until the holidays for a sale on Deus Ex. I honestly doubt I'll finish both before the end of 2016 (since I'm playing Hitman also right now).

I can't seem to find the time to finish more than 5-6 games a year these days. I finally came to grips with that and stopped buying so many games.

Edit: Shit, Touhou Genso Rondo looks pretty dope too - I've been waiting for a shooter like that on PS4. And its $23.99 to preorder for Prime members right now - yep just bought it.

Luckily I'm only prioritizing a very small handful of these this year:

Final Fantasy XV - PS4
The Last Guardian - PS4
Gravity Rush 2 - PS4
Kingdom Hearts 2.8 - PS4

I can wait on Skyrim and BioShock remasters since I just played them for the first time a year or two ago anyway.

I'll just wait until Black Friday where I can get a lot of those games 50% off. Or use one of the numerous holiday sales post BF.

Holy shit. How much free time do you actually have to play those? If you have a full time job, I'd think that a lot of those would get pushed way back into a backlog anyway.

I just spent $2700 on a new TV + stand combination, so I'm a bit low on funds because of that, and I planned on getting:

1. PS4K/Neo (had a PS4, but needed the upscaling and UHD of the Neo so I sold it to a friend)
2. The Last Guardian
3. FFXV (potentially, as below, if it's not a trainwreck)
4. Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
5. Dishonored 2 (*maybe, since the first game got boring fast)
6. South Park

Where most of my spending will be taking place is Q1 of next year. Not only with games, but with the Smyth Realiser A16 (supposed to be $1,500).

Dumbest thing I have heard today, what's wrong with you?
Wasting money buying game knowing you wont have time to play it? Just for collection purpose? By the time you will retire all those game will cost 100$ combine.

I can't understand this either, but I have a friend who has this giant master list of games that he wants to play (he's really crazy too in that he wants to play the games in their chronological order, not their release dates; which throws everything the fuck off if a "prequel" type game releases before he's finished with a series.). The list is of over a hundred games, and he still buys new games in the meantime, despite the fact that he only really actually plays anything maybe six hours a week at best.

FF XV (pending reviews and if its not a trainwreck)
Paper Mario Color Splash
SMT IV Apocalypse
Southpark FBH
The Last Guardian
Pokemon Sun

Maybe Gravity Rush 2 (if its meatier and more polished than 1)

So yeah, not too bad. 2017 and NX will murder my wallet though.
