Indiana Jones | First Previews are up

Game looks like too much of a Wolfenstein reskin(which it is),to get excited about it.Obviously it's not a full on shooter, but the design of it still screams of the recent Wolfenstein games to a point where it's quite distracting.
It's a Riddick reskin if it's a reskin.

Weird comment to make when there's an entire thread filled with positive previews from multiple outlets. But it's you.

@James Sawyer Ford and expectedly downplaying an Xbox game 😆
I really think previews should be taken with a heavy grain of salt, especially when you have publishers flying "journalists" out to interact with the games developer in a major event. Everybody wants to be hyped for the game

I just got finished watching Kinda Funny preview, where 3 of them got to play the game, including Parris Lily. They all 3 agreed it will probably review between a 7.5 and an 8

No matter what, it is going to an incredibly niche game. Very few people under 30 have any interest in the franchise. The gameplay is an immersive stealth sim, which is quite rare to see AAA games made in that genre nowadays. For that reason, I'm excited to play it at some point because it doesn't seem conventional at all

Looks positive, but I think we can all agree that cautious optimism is the way to go here, given the recent reputation of these outlets.

This feels like when a Marvel movie gets previewed.

Always be sceptical of any previews of any Disney product!

Yeah. Lots of games get good previews.

Listening to this (I dont like the guy anyway, but thats my problem) but the game just sounds...... boring? (at least to me, whish is a sham,e because that was my issue with Starfield also, it just bored me).

(and yes, I get that this is more a 'me' problem, I just expected something more action oriented, like Tomb Raider or Uncharted but with Indiana Jones, guess this is why they will get away with first person which always seems like a strange decision to me but that makes a little more sense now)

Felt like a good write up, but the beefy PC probably meaning mouse + keyboard didn't tell me as much, and the big let down is more skill trees - which I'm done with and do in anger in games I want that have them - so might not even be day one when it lands on PS5 for me now.

Hopefully the goons you face know how to squabble in hard mode.
True, but I don't see why that shouldn't be the case. Same for better AI to provide a more engaging stealth.

I doubt those B-Rolls were recorded at anything more than Normal.

Edit:

Four different options for combat: Light, Moderate, Hard, and Very Hard.

Going with Very Hard no doubt.

It's a Riddick reskin if it's a reskin.

Previews likening it to games like Dishonored is a honestly a big relief.

I thought it might be a Wolfenstein reskin, but it doesn't look like that at all, outside of superficial similarities like perspective etc.

Damn, this is an excellent hype-piece. I'm glad this is still on track and not getting delayed (FINGERS CROSSED AND I HOPE I DON'T JINX IT).

Looks too heavy on the stealth for me. Was hoping for more action. I am still learning about the game, though, so I'll keep it on my radar.

We just saw BioWare hide their pandering to 'modern audiences' from previewers, so it's hard to trust what gets put out until the full game is in normal people's hands after release

The core gameplay looks too barebones. The puzzles are too light, the exploration too restricted, the fist-fighting looks like it gets old fast, and the stealth is uncercooked. That's a deep sale purchase for me.

Looks boring, safe and janky. They had a chance to make first person uncharted and they made no idea what...looks like it has a lot of uncooked ideas mashed up. Will prolly still be there day one cuz I love Indie.

I have no idea, how you can make Indiana Jones for the "modern audience". Is he gay or trans now or do the nazis wearing skirts? :pie_thinking:

I found a nice discount on this game at Eneba. I got the Windows/Xbox version because it seems to be the only one with the option to upgrade to Premium.

The Steam version is not showing that option. Also, I can play it on two platforms.

Yeah. The modern audience goes totally against the premise of Indiana Jones. It is set in the past and it is based off of old adventure serials.

They already showed him getting saved by the girl. I'm sure she'll save him a few times.
He'll probably be a lucky goof that needs all the smart, competent minorities around him, so he's not a complete idiot and wins in the end.

I still never finished The Infernal Machine. I kind of remember Fate of Atlantis.

I will need to dig back into those games.

Loving what I see but I have two concerns, maybe 3.

- The animations during melee fights definitely need more care
- Hope the puzzle/exploration part is not for calibrated for doofus mode only
- Todd Howard

I guess Harrison Ford appoved his likeness to be used. He is usually good about that.

I bet he gets a kick out of the games.
