I'm finally enjoying new games.

Forced 21:9 on tv 3840x1646 (2.33 same as 21:9) with 120 fps

I'M IN LOVE

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

YOU NEED BIG SCREEN (or sit close)

DO NOT UNDERSTIMATE 120 FPS

IT REALLY GIVES YOU NEW EXPIRIENCE

60 fps unplayable now
120fps just feels and looks butter smooth.

I agree it's very difficult to go back to 60fps - especially for any fast paced game.

Oddly enough, in some games 60fps just doesn't look and feel like 60fps. This is more of a problem with UE5 games which exhibit significant microstutter.

60fps in RE5 feels twice as smooth as 60fps in some UE5 games such as Black Myth Wukong.

Yeah
Some games are okay in 60

But mostly same experience as with smartphone

Once you go to 120
60 feels not so good anymore

I do 3440x1440 and right now that's all I really need. My eyes are so bad that I wouldn't be able to see the additional detail in motion.

...but aren't you just chopping off the top and bottom of the image since you now have less than 2160 vertical pixels?
I'd rather have all the detail personally
No. If you watch a 2160p video on a 1080p screen do you chop the image off? No, it's just compressed into the available pixels. But, due to the ratio changing you do get more of a horizontal view. You actually gain view rather than lose it.

I use a 3840x1600 monitor at 144hz. It's definitely the best way to game OP. Welcome to the real MR

youre losing vertical detail for sure.. 2160 vs 1646 pixels.
but the aspect ratio is so much better.

basically youre trading height for width.

for whatever reason i hate unused pixels on a display, so i keep playing at 16:9.
love 120fps though

I mean… can’t you play in 16:9 but keep the same horizontal field of view? Then you get the same horizontal FoV, greater vertical FoV, and you’re not wasting like 1/3 of your screen.

You can't get the same horizontal view

Just look at my photos

Horizontal view is expanded
