Jeb! Bush starts his negative ads on Trump.

The hilarious part is that my guess is most people would actually prefer a Trump presidency to most of the other GOP candidates, he's just more of a loudmouth about things the other candidates in-fact agree with.

Only in a Republican attack ad can support for Universal Health Care been construed as a negative.

Bizarro world.

Being a non America and watching this, it is hard to believe that some of this really is suppose to be slander. Bizarro world, indeed.

Those youtube comments tho

Should've disabled them. But then again, disabling the comments would just lead to a higher downvote count.

Sounds about right. Bush is in the pockets of too many people to do what Trump can do (tell us his true feelings and intentions, like them or not), so he has to resort to this.

You call that an attack ad?

._.

Republicans, man. If anything it shows a wide variety of opinions Trump has and that he isn't a tool like most GOP candidates.

I sort of feel that if Trump wins the nomination he will be stronger because of this struggle. Man that feels weird to think about.

Have you seen the polls?

yeah but this is extremely early in the cycle. you don't shit your pants this early, if youre going to shit them it's early next year, when primaries start heating up. THEN you would start launching attacks if Trump is still around and hasnt flamed out.

this reeks of insecurity and uncertainty on Jeb's part

Jeb can't even make an attack ad right. You don't use happy upbeat music, you need to use the low scary music.

You just need that one really low, ominous keyboard note to play throughout the entire thing. It's gotta sound like you're about to confront Magus at the top of his tower.

Yeah, this might be effective with a certain section of primary voters. At the same time, though, running an attack of "this guy is a conservative, but he also has liberal beliefs!" is a risky thing to do in a time where so many people seem sick of parties and politicians and partisanship. That might be exactly the kind of thing they're looking for.

I got a chuckle that there was no attack on his vile ideas and just the fact that 'he sure sounds like a democrat'. Its hard to attack his hate speech when you agree with him on most of it I guess.
You can easily see Jeb's campaign people sweating inside a small room trying to figure out a Trump strategy. They probably thought "we could attack him for being a crazy bat out of hell", but realized that people like that " straight talk" about him (or chose to overlook) even if it included things about Megyn Kelly's menstruation, McCain's war record, Latino comments etc. Then they figured "why not attack his extreme positions?" But realized that will not go well with the primary crowd. Now sweating more profusely, they settled on "let's attack his liberal views. We have clips from Larry King and everyone hates liberals." It was the only option they had in the face of an angry crowd. But the thing is all Trump needs to do, as he's been doing, is simply say he saw the error of his ways and all is forgiven because the caucus goers already believe that he's a straight shooter and it's refreshing for them.

Backfire written all over it. Wait till Trump brings out Jeb's record on immigration and common core. Hell, he doesn't even need to because it's not gonna come to that.

lol I'm glad we all watched the 2012 debates and The Avengers, then.

Funniest part about it was the aftermath in which the GOP were squirming, saying Candy Crawly had in in for Romney, etc.

Completely glossing over the fact that Romney was just using a vague and twisted talking point.

The did the same with the "you didn't build that" line.

The amazing thing about trump so far is he doesn't take peoples words out of context.

The funny part is that one of the major points of the Debate was Trump talking about what he's said before, and he said 'Well I'm republican now'(sic). Jeb! is retreading that without realizing it's..not really a good ad.

Begun the attack ads have.

You coulda just stuck with clone wars.

Kidding. Donald Trump is definitely something else. From a planet where ducks and humans mate, and discriminate

I guess? It's pretty implicit but your edit feels like someone's getting a pass almost. :(

Hmm well I didn't mean to say that Jeb doesn't necessarily believe those things but that the ad is made to appease and attract his audience [republican voters] and is largely unrelated to his actual beliefs whatever they may be like most politicians [i.e. say what your voters want to hear and all that]

Merica you be funny, it's like the entire point of Trump candidacy is to boost support for Hillary Clinton and the entire point of the rest of the GOP camp is to increase support for Trump.

This made Trump... look like a decent human?

Further fuelling rumour that he's secretly a double agent. Like seriously.

Indeed. He really seemed honest.

And several of those "bad" moments are things he has already addressed successfully like his relationship with the Clintons and raising taxes on high earners.

I actually now believe that Trump just says the insane shit he says because he knows that's the only possible way to get into the White House.

If for some reason he actually gets there, It won't be great, but probably not the end of the world scenario I previously thought.

John Ellis Bush Bush is getting desperate.

Bizarro world.

It's not just this. I can't tell you how many times I've seen an attack ad from a Republican where you could take the exact same script, play nicer music behind it, and it become a nice ad for the Democrat.

And how do they not know to disable comments?

It's very telling that republicans feel that Trump in this ad is somehow unelectable, but the one yelling and insulting people is very much a good candidate.

This is gonna backfire in Jeb's face.

Gives Trump plenty of ammo to fire back that all Jeb! can talk about is his opponents, not what he'll do for Americans or some nonsense like that.

Jeb! is basically handing it to Trump to do that. Trump can't be fought with traditional campaign tactics, I thought they would have learned that after the debate debacle.

I'd actually non-ironically vote for that version of Trump

seems like he's got the right idea

If I absolutely had to vote for a Republican (like if a gun was being held to my head), I'd totally pick Trump. He's either a huge racist or just an opportunist who panders to racists, but he's also the least crazy of the bunch (of course, the bar for sanity among the Republican candidates is fairly low yet most of them fail to clear even that).

While Trump certainly bashes the Republican rivals(except Cruz and Carson), he attacks Hillary quite a bit as well.

Jeb is showing his desperation. His poll numbers continue to fall, and his donors are getting worried. He may still recover eventually but it will be a challenging task.
