Damn, did you like the first game at all? Was thinking of trying this out eventually but your post makes it seem terrible. I thought the first was decent (not mind blowing). I thought it was supposed to look good now on PS5 Pro?

Play it on PS5 Pro if you can. It's a legit amazing game. Play it on story. The combat sucks on higher difficulties.

They didn't rectify this in the sequel?
It was my biggest problem with Fallen Order and I just assumed they must've made some improvements in the sequel. It completely kills the joy of exploration!

I did a replay the other day on PS5 Pro and absolutely loved and found it to be a far more consistent version than my PC version, which is performance problems galore and a stutter fest.

The only thing I truly hated were the Force Tears and the extremely tedious platforming sections.

I disagree completely. The game did reward you with skill points, but it could have been better. I would have preferred they offer you different stances, new skills, etc.

Check out F.E.A.R., by now it runs on a potato PC. Nothing better has been done in the AI department in 20 years.

Nop... rewards are parts and hair and clothes... or itens that you can exchange for parts, hair and clothes.

Except for the seemingly unending Flying Circus sections with Merrin dragging you through her portals.

Yeah this is my major complaint, hated those parts and some of the forced traversal/parkour segments went on for longer than I liked, otherwise though I really enjoyed the game

I was considering checking this out on Gamepass once I was done with Mafia Definitive Edition but I may just skip it....(I skipped the first game, but watched it as a playthrough movie, didn't regret not purchasing it..) I'll stick to getting further into Force Unleashed and checking out the short Force unleashed 2....(this again goes with the theme of when people question why the complaints about the gaming scene today, when you can't even get a game that has bettered Force unleashed today...)

Honestly though both games are better than the most recent star wars films, which, yes is a low bar, but still pretty decent. It basically feels more like an Uncharted game in its pacing and transitions from exploration and combat.

This is my biggest gripe with the game. Haircuts, beards, and color swaps should not be found in chests. Better go to a shop and purchase them (like some vendors already do in the game).

Also, I'd like for the different lightsaber and gun parts to give you a slight buff. This way is more rewarding when you find them.

I didn’t love the first game but it was decent enough to at least complete.

But this latest one I struggled to even get through the first hour. Just bored me so much I gave up on it then and there.

Exactly the same, I played the first and finished, didnt loved but dont remember hating it, so much that I bought the sequel and after this first hours I might be done with it. I going to try and speed run trough to at least get the story finished. Exploring and side quests are meaningless anyway in this game.

It was okay, but not really worth my time. Spend around 8 hours on it, since I liked the first game, but somehow I was bored playing it. I was in this desert planet and it just sucked.

I was thinking that I perhaps became too old for gaming, since it’s rare that a game interests me and I only have very limited time to play because of my family… But then I switched to Like a Dragon and now Infinite Wealth and wholly crap, I love them so much and they are addicting.

I haven't played this one, but maaaan your list of complaints rings true with just about every major franchise game I've seen in the past several years.

There's this overall "built by committee, or by very large teams with no central leadership" feeling to games today, where

• the dialogue is always awful (and recorded as if the voice actors weren't in the same room and have no idea how to inflect their response to the prior person's inflection / tone -- so it has an uncanny feeling of people who can't hear each other)
• the exploration is just "here some more area you can walk to find stupid skin bonuses" like the haircuts you describe lol, even hearing that you walked around just to get stupid haircut loot or other pieces of flair infuriates me
• it feels like one team made the basic engine, other people drew up big levels, other people planned scripted setpieces, none of it works together... it's always like a soulless production line these days
• side quests are usually just tagged busy work (go kill 3 of these, go bring this person this thing, etc, so damn rote)
• repetitive gameplay ideas so they just make sponges or other quick hacks to simulate increasing difficulty

Basically all of your complaints hit home, so I believe you. Not going to play this particular game to find out though, I'm done with soulless corporate content.

I highly disagree, the game has great progression and boss fights, solid level design, likeable characters that can be slightly cringe, and fantastic world building.

I agree about the cosmetics in chests, but those are usually collectibles in other games that have no value whatsoever.

I really don't understand this rant with way worse offenders out there.
